With the level everything being raised I was wondering if the Devs had any plans to add omni beams to the rep stores? I think that it is a fair request considering that you can craft any flavor of beam except the rep ones.
Can only fit 1 per type on your ship tho. Not much use to add em to a rep store straight away, besides at least now crafting serves a purpose with some of the more "unique" items you can craft. If you add everything to some rep store what type of incentive is there to spent all that time and resources into levelling your crafting?
I don't think that omni beams for reputation weapons will happen. If they did then people who use non-cannon weapons would be way less inclined to use beams from lockboxes as they don't have omni variants. That could be considered as one less reason for people to open the boxes, thus possibly biting in to Cryptic's bottom line. I'm pretty sure they won't do anything to encourage that happening.
I doubt it will happen. Since you can make nearly all versions with crafting. And they want players to craft to make them happen. Even to the extent of buying Dil from the exchange to get one. I wouldn't mind seeing one in the Romulan Rep or Dyson Rep. As those will fit in with the rest of the weapons. Until then the prices are ridiculous on the exchange. And I don't have the time to build that kind of wealth. So I will get mine in time as I'm working on crafting myself.
Then again, it could happen later on in a future Rep.

Pointless remark... It's an entirely different weapon that is not subject to beam weapon abilities nor tactical consoles...
The entitlement is strong in these forums...

That may be true, but its gonna be as close as we're gonna get to rep omni beams. There's no reason to make a rep Omni Beam because we can MAKE them via crafting.

No you can't. You can only make the vanilla omni beams. You can't make the hybrids. An omni would compliment the romi, nukara, and dyson reps very well.
For years, players have been disappointed that crafting was pointless because you couldn't make anything unique or even useful compared to reward-based gear. Now that we have a crafting system that is worthwhile and produces upgrades that can't be obtained anywhere else... and the op wants to ruin it.

Romulan? Plasma.
Nukara? Tetryon.
Dyson? Polaron.
They may not be 100% identical, but they do the same base damage type and have very similar (if not identical) beam VFX for people who care about that.
Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
