Need to fill 'Tactical' stations.

Sorry to be bugging everyone with this.

I have been wandering around 'Spacedock' in sector 001 trying to properly equip my cruiser with the proper staff/bridge crew slots to go out on patroll. My current ship has three tacticall stations. I have only filled ONE of them. Which explains why I keep getting DECIMATED by whatever enemies I run into.

Just where does one go to bolster the bridge crew stations?

Thanking the community in advance.

P.S. Please excuse any lapses in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Im going to assume youre talking about Boff Slots. I havent purchased a Boff in forever and Im assuming the Boff Vendor is probably located near the Boff Skills Trainer in the Command Center below Quinns office. I may be wrong.

Another way of gaining Boffs is to complete your Doff Missions. Boffs come as rewards for some of them. I often find myself with Tactical Boff officers sitting in limbo because of this.

I think you mean to say you don't have enough tactical bridge officers to fill your ship stations.

Go to the exchange and set the filter to Very Rare and search for the word 'Tactical'. Make sure to buy boffs for your faction - Tip: when you hover your mouse over a boff it says if you can't use it. You'll probably see mostly KDF boffs first. If you need Fed boffs then scroll down and click to the next page to find what you need. If you don't care about species or traits and only want boffs to fill your ship stations, then whatever you find first in the list will be pretty inexpensive. You can find Very Rare boffs for as low as 10k EC or even less if you're not particular in what you get.

The other option is to go to your homeworld and find the bridge officer requisitions NPC. You can buy common quality bridge officers for about 240 dilithium each, but your best bet is Very Rare, or even Rare, in the exchange since they are cheap and EC is easy to come by. Hope this helps. :)

Or just play the story missions as they will give you far more Bridge Officers than you will need.

    **

Now, the other way to read the problem is that he has BOffs but they have not been Ranked-Up.

In that case you want to go to their Skills Window. Fill in the Power Bars until they are full. Then go to the option on the bottom of the window to Promote. This will unlock the second Tier of Bridge Officer powers (that will in the gaps in the BOff stations). Repeat until the Bridge Officer has all of its abilities fully powered. Note that you can only Promote them to the Rank just below your Captain's.

dont have boffs? as you rank up you get free boffs 'hail > in progress' if you havent checked you should see a list of about half a dozen new officer missions there, click one of them it will show a rarity blanket on all three potential officers one of each class to choose from. if you are that desperate just slot a tac officer from that and have them join your crew assuming you got the space.

but then as others have stated..

Odd, I'm usually swimming in bridge officer candidates by the time I get a ship with three bridge officer slots of a certain career type.

The other possibility is that the OP is a Silver account player and has filled up the rest of his 4-6 allowed BOFF slots with non-Tactical BOFFs, in which case he will have to either dismiss some, or spend Zen to get more slots. Fortunately, Zen are 15% off this weekend.

Go to the exchange or to wherever BO's are sold for your faction, and buy some more Tac Officers.

Try to make sure to get/train them in BO powers that compliment not only your ship/build type but also your weapons. For example, getting cannon powers will little to nothing for you if there are no cannons on the ship. For beams, Beam Overload and Fire At Will are your best bets, followed by something that targets some subsystem or other. I prefer targeting shields first, then weapons.

I don't think he needs more Bridge Officers.

He says "My current ship has three tactical stations."

No ship has 3 tactical stations. I believe he has one Lt. Commander Tactical that has 3 slots he can fill. He probably only has 1 of the 3 slots filled.

If that's the case, then what you need to do is promote your Tactical Officer in rank so that he gains more abilities. Lets assume that the officer you have in that Tactical Slot is named 'Jim.'

Bring up your status screen (Press U by default) and click on 'Jim' in your list. You'll see his status screen where you can change his gear and stuff. Click on the drop down menu at the bottom of his screen, I think it's called Career Info or something like that. Click on Promote.

Promote Jim until it tells you that you can't promote him anymore. Then click on his Skills Tab and under 'Space Skills' you'll see his abilities. These will be automatically filled into the Tactical Slot on your ship. Be sure and add points to these skills to level them up. You will now be able to use these new skills in combat.

If you don't like the skills, you can change them by going to the Bridge Officer trainer in Earth Space Dock.

Go to the trainer, and select 'Train Officer.' When the menu comes up, go to the bottom left and uncheck everything except 'Space Tactical' and you will see a list of all the space tactical skills that trainer can teach. Simply find the ones you want, select Jim and hit 'Train' to change his skills. Once he's trained in the skills you want you'll have to go back under the 'Skills' on Jim's character page and put the points back into them.

If that doesn't help, please let us know and we'll try and answer your question. Good luck!

Tactical Escort Retrofit comes with 3 tactical stations.
If that is his problem, he needs to acquire more bridge officers. New bridge officers can be gotten during leveling, from Duty Officer assignments (but it's a random chance whether you get them and you need to reach certain levels in the different commendation tiers), from the Exchange, and there are also the Aenar Andorian and Cat (Feresan and what not) Bridge Officers you can get from the C-Store.

But yeah, he couldmean 3 tactical BO power slots, in which case he just needs to spend some skill points (or is it expertise) on the Bridge Officer he has, and promote the BO to Lt.Cmdr (requires roughly 2 or 3 of the BO's skills maxed out.)
