Bort, how does the console interact with the decloaking ambush bonus? Does it stack or is one being replaced?
Also while the Picard Maneuver is iconic, i can't feel that this console is best used in PvP and not PvE. Why do you keep making clicky consoles that have a way bigger impact on one format of the game, when the other is (percentage wise) a lot more relevant?

I bought the ship. Even if I never use it, it looks neat and was priced below the impulse purchase threshold.

The console may be a little gimmicky (aren't they all?), but it's fun and cool and there are several situations where it can be very useful.

I was incorrect about this aspect in my previous post, and edited it accordingly. It does break target locks, and render you untargetable, but only for an instant.

Subspace Jump is also really brilliant for getting a foe into your forward firing arcs. For lining up a Dual Beam Bank Overload, for example. It's one of our greatest force multipliers around, when properly used.

its also great for getting 'out' of someones forward arc when in something with the
relative manoeuvrability of a brick, eg. Vo'quz, Caitian Carrier, Mothers Car. also rather
    handy for exiting tholian webs.

To me, this console is really nothing more then Romulan's Core Jump Only it gives Damage bonus instead of a big ole Blinding Grav well. And makes that grav well into a clone. And is a console instead of a rommy ship ability..

And is a way to give Fed ships a rommy ability...

So IE: This ship is really nothing more then a 1k Zen Rommy Warp jump Console for Feds.. Basically..

And with T6 and the way they announced T5u... I wouldn't bother on the fleet variant anyway. Maybe AFTER t6 is announced, IF I have the money and am not broke.. I MIGHT pick up the console as a nifty trick to use in PVP as a Fed Rom.. ;)

Edit: Oh and I suppose this will be in the next Lockbox as a console for the KDF.. Wonder what the Feds would get then. Since the Feds now have all of the KDF consoles afaik.
You think that your beta test was bad?

    The Chicken or the Egg?

Because for ages people thought that if they ever put in the Picard Maneuver, it would have the Jump and the distraction. Then comes the subspace jump BoP Console, then the Bortasque reverse warp abilities........ this was before they even put in the Singularity powers.

Maybe this is why they held off adding the Picard Maneuver, because just like you said, it's basically the singularity jump. But Romulans didn't get screwed, because Fed Roms can use the PicMan and can even double jump in a combo. Which probably could make it formidable, especially in PvP for a quick in and out.

    Probably. :P

I got a Mirror version months ago and was able to customize it with the Constellation Saucer, while it was available for all of five minutes. I can't customize the ship again without either losing it or having to pay 1000 Zen, but I do have it ;-)

I might be kind of tempted to buy t5 ships if I was at a lower level say 40+ and most importantly if I knew they come with a free upgrade when I got to level 50 but who in their right mind is going to but t5 ships now knowing full well that they will have to pay again to upgrade them, they might as well take all of their t5 ships off the c-store cos they sure wont sell any unless its to the odd die hard collector.

Oh don't get me wrong I do like the game and have spent more RL cash than I care to admit :) but I just feel this is just underhanded and personally it just doesn't sit right with me. In actuality this post wont do much to change anything, just wanted them to see my opinion as a customer of thiers.

reviews like these good or bad help a company understand the player base and will help shape future moves they make. Agree with me or not it really doesn't matter for threads like these and all the opinions in them help show what we want as a player base it will help make the game better for us. If that makes sense :)

they might see and read the feedback but I doubt they will listen, they want to see positive feedback and anything else just gets ignored, they could have 1000 posts saying nay but they will only note the 1 that says yay.
in the end they will do what they want despite any of us.
they are not the only company like this, there are many out there just the same, I would be nice to think that cryptic are better then that but sadly im beginning to think this is not the case.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

I Bought it. probably not going to use it but i've been clamoring for it and its here, i'm proud of it and i'm not worried at all about T6. heck i might not even upgrade my T5 to 5U to make the PVE content more of a challenge, like how Voth ships were actually hard to kill when S8 came out. yeah i want to win, but i dont want god mode codes. they get boring real quick

but hey, I don't PVP, so....

Anybody else reading how this console works, and thinking how the KDF players would make much better use of it than feds? ;)

    No.

KDF have the subspace jump* console which is much better for them then the Picard Maneuver console. As explained, the subspace jump teleports you directly behind the enemy and your fore weapons are lined up. This allows a Klingon in a Bird of Prey to take full advantage of the raider flanking ability. The Picard Maneuver console only teleports you straight forward in the direction you're facing. Sure you can teleport yourself behind an enemy but your DHC's won't be lined up to take full advantage of raider flanking.

I can foresee the Picard Maneuver console being made available for KDF via lock box eventually and it can be useful, but I wouldn't say it would be more useful than subspace jump if you're using a raider type ship.

*Feds can get a subspace jump console but the lock box it comes in no longer drops and whatever is left on the exchange is pricey. IMO, subspace jump is useful for Feds but not as much because they don't have raider flanking on any ships.

I like the ship... though not my favorite class it's nice to fly something that actually feels like Trek. I got the mirror skin for mine at the Fleet level and it is quite a capable little ship. Who cares about T6 ships, at the end of the day fly what makes you happiest.

Actually, the Breen Plesh Brek Raider is available to Feds, if they got it during the Winter event, and that has the Flanking bonus as well.

With that said, your post is solid. KDF (and the few Fed Plesk) Raiders will find the Subspace jump more useful than the Picard Maneuver, but really, they are two totally different things.
