First, you don't own the ship, per the game license you have bought the right to use cryptics property in cryptics game for as long as cryptic chooses to let you use it. They have the right to cancel this financial agreement at any time and you have the right to walk away at any time.
For the second idea, running the auction house on dil is a phenomenally bad idea. It means if I have money and you have time you can only buy 8k dil worth of my stuff per day. That's bad for you, bad for me, and very bad for cryptic. Right now you can buy 8k dil/day worth of my zen, plus as much of my zen items from the ah as you can farm in ec. That's a better system.
And no, increasing the dil cap isn't god either, look at never winter where they allow you to refine three times as much, then charge eight times more for everything. Its not worth it.

I already covered your first point with post #21
Your second point is valid
I never proposed raising the Dil cap
corelogik
Then it should be really easy to prove me wrong
You didn't cover anything with post #21. You compared buying something that is digital to something that is physical.
You buy land, your the deeded owner of said land, it can be taken away from you or you can sell it.
You buy a ship in a game. You don't own it and never will. It is UNLOCKED to your account and you can therefore use said ship.
Another words, you are given permission thanks to your purchase to use said ship. You cannot sell the permissions and you most defiantly cannot sell something you don't own.
That's pretty much as simple and as clear as I can be, I really don't know what else to say. I've yet to see any game that allows you to have a 'partial refund' on digital purchases.
Retired. I'm now in search for that perfect space anomaly.

Some of your argument applies to c-store ships but not fleet ships. Ownership is the act, state, or right of possessing something. A lease is a contract by which one party conveys land, property, services, etc., to another for a specified time. But there is no specified time when buying c-store ships or fleet ships. You lose the ship if you don't follow the terms of service or you close the account.
there is already a system to use dilithium & zen with the EC exchange.
what to buy something on the exchange with zen/dil > exchange dil for zen - (skip to here if starting with zen) buy lockbox key - sell lockbox key for EC - spend EC on what you want.
want to sell something on exchange for dil/zen > sell item for EC - use EC to buy contraband - convert contraband to dil with doff project - if you want zen convert dil to zen on dil<>zen exchange.
selling unwanted ships to cryptic will never happen.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
The only time you might get a refund on a digital item is if that item was changed in some signiificant way from when you bought it. That isn't happening

I am proposing a direct exchange from in game currency to goods
Anyone that considers Dilithium to be used in the exchange to be a good idea should take a really good look at what has this done for the economy of Neverwinter. Right now there are over 100,000 dollars worth of AD* being offered in exchange for zen at MAX price with no one paying Zen for them. And don't get me started on the AD* inflation in their exchange...

gavinruneblade convinced me that a dilithium exchange is a bad idea but I still am proposing a zen exchange

I am going to wrap this up.
