Recent Value Changes to Consoles - Post 8/28/14 Patch

crypticgekocrypticgeko Member Posts: 87
Hi Folks,

Recently, some data was changed on holodeck that slightly increased the effectiveness of many high level ship consoles. This change was unintentional and was the result of a significant data overhaul in preparation for Delta Rising. This change will not be a permanent change. We will be reverting these numbers back to their original values, so we wanted to let you know what to expect.

We also want to ask for your help in finding any other unintentional changes. If you see any unexpected values change (whether up or down), please let us know and we will investigate.

We hope to have this matter resolved very soon and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Which ones? I'd love to see effective consoles before they get re-nerfed...

Can we keep one or two of them? Pretty please? A little torpedo damage bonus for the weekend would be SUPER SWELL. :D

Called it...no worries geko. it isn't the first time a patch before an expansion had a little bit of an unintentional leak.

I assume these are crafting upgraded consoles, bit you probably can't say...

A bunch of us looked at everything we could think of and all we saw changes to were tac, sci, and eng consoles VR Mk XI or Rare Mk XII and better (in other words equiv to a common Mk XIV or better).

None of the weapons or universal console I looked at looked different to me, but I might not be remembering old stats right.

E: Oh and gold-quality items now actually say "Legendary" on them, I don't recall seeing that before

E2: Ah, I didn't look at UR weapons on the exchange, since my fleet weapons didn't look any different. But the crafted ones are definitely a lot stronger.

All of the Ultra Rare crafted consoles and weapons on the exchange, just do a search for Ultra Rare.

A Dual heavy cannon has twice as much DPS as a fleet version coming at over 500 DPS and a beam has over 300 DPS and ENG has 50% turn

Geko, just hold off adding new code into Holodeck ahead of time. About 3 weeks ago, the whole TP values for gear got inserted into Holodeck ahead if time and I noticed it and put in in a post not knowing what they were for.

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=18463381&postcount=1

I know you're trying to not make a huge single patch, but dripping it into Holodeck is having unintended consequences.

Basically, you hiked ALL fleet, UR, and MK XII, XI and X consoles. Can't say the same for lower levels since I haven't taken a look.

Come on, give me tribble access. I really want to see what's coming ahead of time even if I now know how Mk XIV consoles will behave.

The fact that it took this to make Geko finally create a tread is just amazing. Frankly dude, communicate more in the forums than just when someone has a major TRIBBLE up.

On the flip side, I feel sad for the poor developer who had a crappy day today for having let this code slip into Holodeck. I feel for you man, I know exactly how it feels. Sorry if it affected whatever salary bonus or yearly salary hike Cryptic gives.

I do have to agree. The bonus to the fleet generic torpedo and beam damage consoles is awesome and should stay permanent. I remember when these consoles got nerfed before their release and hence why people rarely, if ever, buy them.

Eh, I'm sure someone feels bad but at the end of the day, it's just a Star Trek spacebarbie game. It's not like the control system of a nuclear plant go messed up.

After testing Tribble a couple days ago, I can tell you that no BIG patch was made, the most recent patches for Tribble, are just for testing the DR code 45. to see if anything would break the game...

Other than I am not sure if I could tell what's in there, due to stuff still being REDACTED... :/

That being said, thnxs for the notice Geko, much appriciated...

I love it, Dev communication. This is all I ever wanted, from them. I understand mistakes happen, and sometimes even bad ideas and mechanics make it to the game. But I love the openness and response from the Dev team. I know they can't answer every question, but this goes a long way in my book.

Can I just state that for all your past secret nerfs where there has been a huge outrage. A forum post like this or including the change in patch notes would prevent most of it. The player base only requires a little bit of upfront honesty to accept something.

I am disappointed the console increase was unintentional as it was a pleasant surprise. However as it wasn't in patch notes I understand it wasn't intended.

Please could you assure us all future nerfs (or intended buffs) get some advance warning. This would give majority of player support.

Also. If you would like to leave a small buff instead that would be cool. Say leaving the consoles at 33% rather than returning them back to 31.... ;)

Thanks for the advanced heads up :)

You should keep the changes to the Dyson rep consoles. They would at least get a little bit more valueable with like 2% improvement to stats.

Target Shields Subsystems numbers are wrong.

After activating, the value shown on the tooltip of the beam weapon icon is significantly lower than the tooltip shown on the activating icon.

However Target Engines Subsystems, Aux and Weapons show the same value in both tooltips.

I've tested with a friend and the value actually applied to the shield power setting is the lower one.

The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

My guess is that the stats we are seeing on the consoles now are the stats they will have after they go through the XII->XIV and XI->XIII upgrade process.
