I say go for it. let him have his bank loaning tool. Then people can create alt accounts borrow money and send it off to their real account. Since ec cannot go negative and there is no way to extract funds from a dead account (aka blood from stone), he will have no ec and just a bunch of iou's. There will be nothing to reposes and nothing to claim because the funds wont be there.
We will all have new lock box ships thanks to the off account borrower and the nausicans will be knocking on a different door.
So yes I'm all in support of him giving me free money in a convoluted fashion.

I like that idea... actually, great idea! Cryptic, please add this!
Well, may be it would be nice if the crafting system could benefit the fleets as well, I mean with a holding or such a thing. So Fleets could be transformed into companies, and the company stock, could be traded. That would be great.
Giving players the opportunity to acquire capital, would stimulate the economy and every player could benefit from new technologies, because there would be competition.
Well maybe it could be a special Perk of playing as a Ferengi Character?
But on a more serious note, I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing that deserves the development time, I doubt its really a good return for the developers time, And I question how useful it would be to actual players
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
Getting, companies with tradable stock would really be nice, if they would create a Ferengie faction. But that was just a joke. Its about the loan thing, people opposed it as if I said everyone has to eat his pants if he wants to play STO.
ussually I have more liquidity then I need. And there are several people who would like to borrow money from me. The Problem is, I cant trust every one AND I've got the problemn that I dont see the people because some times I am only online 2h the week.
So it would be very nice if we could get an money lending tool, which automaticly collects the money on the day the loan is called in.
I am thinking of some thing strucktured like this:
Amonut lendt to the debtor: xxxx EC
Intrest rate (per month): x,x%
installment plan: x EC on the dd.mm.yyyy ; x EC on the dd.mm.yyyy ; .......
I mean I do not have to explain how a loan works.
Would be just nice if you could get us some tool like this, that would save me a lot of time.
Or it could be implemented in the fleetsystem, that would be great as well.
Simple solution, only loan to people you know, or have known, either in or out of game, for awhile. Problem solved. I loan EC to people sometimes. They're all in my Fleet and I know them. I also NEVER loan an amount that would cause me major inconvenience if I didn't get it back.

I have visions of a pair of Nausicaans showing up at Quark's and grabbing a players toon...
(is there a leg-cast option in the Tailor? Perhaps the Dev's should also add "cement space-boots'?)
The other thing I can envision, is the "Gold Farmers" suddenly finding a new way to destroy player accounts and/or huge numbers of threatening emails ganking the system.
Interesting idea, but not very practical considering the massive amount of abuse it could engender.
This idea is right up there with "Complete Open-Space PvP"

May be the dev's should add, Mortgages and Mortgage-Backed-Securities as well to the game. So I could acquire enough capital to build a Jem'Hadar hatchery, with loyal soldiers who can guard me, 24/7.
That would be great. Yeah, ship mortgages, everyone gets a new ship, I am lending the Mortages and selling the as MBS, why not!?
Just ask for a security like a similar valued item if they fail to cough up the ec keep the security.
Ive done this myself to quickly get a bargain on the exc and i lend to others if they have items they currently cant sell or want to as security deposit.
Since you are not willing to contribute to the topic I'll add an another idea, to the original one.
What if the loan aggrements, would be tradable items? So you could sell them on the exchange.
It would be even better if you could put the loan aggreements together and split them again.
This way you could invest your money in low risk products and people in need of money could easly raise funds.
If the Dev's were, to EVER add any such game mechanics like this, it would be thru a Dev controlled system, and not thru a player controlled system.
This could potentially, be another way to chew at EC's being in such high quantity, but highly doubtful!
Stop necroing old threads mods please close this its twice the op has done this. Op go play monopoly or something this is not a banking/tax game its star trek for god sake

I think he wants to play eve, but can afford it, so he wants to turn this game into a budget version of it.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.
Second of all what would happen if someone "borrowed" 250 million for a JHAS then couldn't pay it back or heaven forbid just had and kept no ec?
That's a major problem with this idea, the is no real collateral.
So why not automatically just drain the ECs from the player? Player would have no steady EC flow for batteries, new builds, and rep. Player would need to climb this huge wall before he/she can really do something. Player grinds, gets bored, goes on to new toon/account/stops playing.
As far as the whole necromancy, I've heard nothing about necroing old subjects. I only hear that it is bad to necromance the actual thread, and that you should create a new thread instead, like what the OP did.
Gosh this is, so funny! The same three unemployed **** reading and replying to every post. Seriously don't you have a job? Or may be a family or at least friends?

That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I gave this a little bit more thought: Instead of taking 100% of player's earnings as collateral, take a smaller percentage, like 30%.
This will allow player to do stuff, but you will get payed much slower. Also, there is a chance player may still get a bit angsty.
Now another thing I am worried about are the people who do not know how to survive a loan. Both the loaner and the loany would pay, perhaps dearly (person goes "oh, look easy way to get money" gets a loan, spends all the ECs, then goes: "oh no, I need to find a way to make money"). Yes, people would need to acknowledge that there is a risk, but some would not actually acknowledge that and would complain if something goes terribly wrong. You idea is a perfect way to discover what is wrong with the common person.
Sorry, but this is what I know, and I must address what I know the way I know it so that it is known and taken care of.
I can understand where the OP is coming from, but I'd have to say no to this idea. But like him I also lend EC to people, but only to people in my fleet and I've never expected them to pay it back in one lump sum. I've found the easiest way to keep track of what I'm loaning out is to use the characters Biography screen, its convenient, and can be updated straight away after you've received a payment from someone.

Now I can't do an actual quote, because the thread is closed, but here is what Askray said:
"Seriously folks, if a thread hasn't been responded to in 30 days please don't bring it back up If you feel you need to continue the thread by all means make a new one!"

I stand corrected. I've read the OP, then I looked to see if there is a gap bigger than 30 days, and there was. But this thread was necroed by the OP, so I do not know if it is allowed or not (because it was done by the OP).
I really should check time stamps more often.
Clearly the OP is trolling. That should be apparent when this individual kept bumping their own post with progressively crazier ideas. The cherry on top was asking for mortgage backed security being added to the game. Hopefully no one reports this thread so the OP can revisit this in a year.
