Game crashs whenever I go to a starbase

So, forgive me if I seem a little agitated. I've been unable to play the majority of my characters for a while because one of my STO files got corrupted upon download, specifically ./pigs/data.hogg:Animation_Library/Sto_Face/Sto_Regal_Headturn_Right.Atrk:. The advice I always get is to do a "force verify." Unfortunately, all that does is check to see if the file is there ,which it is it's just empty or corrupted and the most annoying part is that when the game crashes it doesn't close the game client so I have to then go in through task manager and close the 1 process out of 50 and hope I don't miss click and shut down something vital and have to restart my computer. The second advise I get is to re-download the game. I have to slow of internet for a 15gb download that's why I have the disc but even then I would have to re-download all 10gb of patches. So, can someone tell me where this file is located so I can delete it and let force verify do it's thing.

Yeah, I have been getting a crash myself, here's what it says in the crash note, verbatim:

Fatal Error: Corrupt pig file detected:

Technical Details: Corrupt pig file detected: ./piggs/texture3.hogg:
    Texture_Library/Costumes/Avatars/Romulan/M_Undershirt_Romulan_N
    eutral_01_C.Wtex

    Clearly, it's user error....right?

that is the 1.06gb file 'data.hogg'.

In the game launcher before clicking the 'Engage' button to launch the game, click 'Options' at the top, check the box that says 'Force Verify', then click the save button. The game will start patching. Wait for that to finish then click the 'Engage' button and see if you still have the problem.

What force verify does is force the game to check the files to see if any are missing and/or broken and fixes them. If you still have the problem afterwards it's possible it could be a server issue or something on Cryptic's end that doesn't involve the game client.

Out of all 11 of my characters none have had the game crash at all since getting the season 9.5 update and I visit my starbase on at least 1 character a day to turn in extra CXP.

But I've been in the habit for a very long time to force verify the files with the game launcher after downloading every single patch before I even attempt to play the game. I found a long time ago this prevents most or all lag after a patch as well as game crashes and server not responding messages. I even force verify the files after getting each tribbler server patch. So if I'm lagging, crashing, or having other major issues after a patch usually everybody else is too.
