It's Oc'U'mpa, not Ocampa!

Pretty much as per the title...

I am a massive Voyager fan, it was my favourite series... So you getting the name of a major Voyager race wrong worries me.

Anyways...

It's Ocumpa, not Ocampa! :P

Memory Alpha disagrees with you: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Ocampa

    :D
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Wow, apparently you are smarter than those who write the official Wiki-type pages.
You should let them know that they have it wrong too.

Being from Massachusetts (USA), I have to wonder of it's just someone's lazy way of speaking. We've got that covered quite well here in Massachusetts.

Undine. I was pronouncing it like "spine" until I hear the Tuvok voiceover say "Un-deen"

Ferasan. I was saying "Fehr-uh-sahn" until I heard Worf say "Fur-ahh-sin" in the voiceover.

Aceton. I still don't know how to pronounce that properly.

If anyone heard me talking to myself outloud while playing this game, it would sound like an off world language...and it's all wrong!

Not this nonsense again. If you can say with a straight face that you have never misspoken or mispronounced while giving a public speech then you are either lying or haven't done it.

No, it's Ocampa, LOL. You probably saw some localized subtitles for your own country, right? I saw a German girl on youtube once talk about the Dominium. But it really is the Dominion, much like it really is the Ocampa.

Remember they also couldn't get Garret Wang's name right. They introduced him as Garret WONG.

That *is* how he pronounces it, actually.

    Really?

Guess you learn something new about Star Trek everyday.

This might turn into a fund thread:
    How should one pronounce---

    Nana
    Takei
    Majel

Dr. Kate Pulaski: Dah-ta, look at this.
Lt. Commander Data: [looking slightly confused] 'Day-ta'.
    Dr. Kate Pulaski: What?
Lt. Commander Data: My name. It is pronounced 'Day-ta'.
    Dr. Kate Pulaski: Oh?
Lt. Commander Data: You called me "Dah-ta".
Dr. Kate Pulaski: [laughing] What's the difference?
Lt. Commander Data: One is my name. The other is not.

    :)

    how i say it is:

uhn-dea-en - if ever i say that name at all.

    Feh-ur-ras-sin

    ac-ec-ton

and one others way of saying a name isnt always the only way of saying it, there are these commentators on the euro f3 championship this season, the driver max verstappen is one of note for example and one to watch in europe for the future.

one commentator says verh-stapp-penn and the other one says Ver-shh-tapp-penn, the latter is annoying to hear each time because from years past the father Jos Verstappen was always called the former, so i tend to think the former way of saying the surname as correct. there are other ways of stating names from other peoples. so worf or tuvok's isnt the only way of stating it.

This explains a lot. I'm up to watching Season 4 of Voyager now. Still hoping it stops sucking soon, but not holding my breath given the first 3 seasons of utter waste.

We are living in a world of inconsistency... Today there are left six signatures from Shakespeare. Every time another spelling and not once the spelling "Shakespeare" (there is even a whole wiki article about this topic)

So I am open to every spelling of ocampa, ocumpa or okhampa. I guess they dont use latin letters usually :D
