I'm done. (Not a normal "I quit" thread)

The KDF playerbase does not want to change....or more the KDF playerbase does not want to pay for change. Until the today I thought I always thought the KDF could more then what it is now. More then just barely dressed pale Orions. More then just Gorn puns, MORE THEN JUST FARMERS! But I was wrong. What was the straw that broke my back?

I tried to simply pay off a HOBO to stop farming N'Vak and go you know. Play the game? The farmer mind set so locked into her head she could not take the 25 mil and even lie to my face and keep farming.

So I'm done. No matter what Cryptic does for the KDF until the players choose to become something more we are nothing but the farming faction.

HA! Something I thought of that is pretty funny. The Republic is made of farmers that became warriors and the KDF is made of warriors that became farmers.

edit: I'm not leaving and no you can't haz my stuff.

I'll give it to you, that was an unusual reason to break forum rules and make an "I quit" thread.

Congrats OP, I believe you just made the most pointless and useless thread in this forum's history.
This might just beat the "DOOOOM" thread in being pointless.

I'll admit I'm not too clued up on the lingo, but if, as I'm led to believe, you tried to bribe someone to play the game you want them to play rather than how they want to play it, what gives you the right to do that exactly?
I wouldn't have fobbed you off with a lie, I would have just told you to get stuffed personally.

    Touche. Well played.

The rare minority don't describe the entire "faction" (and I use that loosely because I think factions should be done away with). When I log into my KDFs I play them. Sometimes my playing involves doing things to get rewards, but farming implies the sole purpose is resource acquisition to be distributed to other alts. And "farming" I do on my toons is for the benefit and growth of THAT toon. To me, that's actually playing the game.

I think Cryptic gave up on the KDF years ago. There was a little improvement recently but too little and too late. They've given up on pretty much anything nowadays.

Your lucky she turned you down. I would have taken your EC, offered as a bribe, and then continued playing the game my way anyway. For your arrogance in assuming that your way is the ONLY, RIGHT way,...

I play KDF almost exclusively. It's fun to be the under dog. It's fun to be the "bad boy". It's fun to make due with the resources and content available and there are many "farm" missions ("Pi Canis" for dil, for one) and other doff missions that are unique to KDF. You don't need content to be unique or to have fun. Get to endgame, destroy feds in pvp (when you can), join the more rare and unusual KDF fleets. Enjoy the KDF races/traits and characters. Has anyone seen what a Gorn in physical augmentation armor, specced for melee, with a batleth can do to a borg, even in elite STF's. I haven't seen a more destructive melee character. (although Klingon warriors are close)

As well, those players who are stubborn enough to stick with the KDF side are generally more helpful and more friendly than what I have experienced on the Fed side.

You don't need Cryptic to make the game fun. Find your own niche and enjoy the game your own way. If I can do it, anyone can.

    Embrace the Bug!

Well d'oh, that's like watching a 20 ton truck crashing in a wall and believing that it'll turn into butterflies at impact.

You want to help a faction? Give your money to people who need it, who need help, which you could help with... That's how you could mean something to someone.

    Nerf is OP, plz nerf
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.

What is the indigent person you speak of, and why would you waste 25 million EC to convince them to do what?

Our hobos in Canada will wash windows, do basic gardening and even wash cars for basic food stuffs.

I respect this. This is the right behavior to support a faction of your preference, IMHO.

So I'm new to the forums and I'm a staunch supporter of the Empire, with that said, could some old timers answer a question, please? Are these 'the sky is falling, dear god everything is ruined' exceptionally common amongst KDF players or is this just the STO forum goers as a whole?

They are common to the whole forum, but you tend to hear it most from the hard core klinks.

No, they're quite the common occurrence for the entire forum ever since the beginning of this year and the change in management at Cryptic.

I'm afraid this is pure BS, the KDF section of the forum only gets maybe 2 of those per year, while the 'General Discussion' gets like 10 of these per day.
Plus the "hardcore" Klinks have experienced the sky falling on the facton years ago and those of us that are still here certainly don't bother with doom threads, otherwise we wouldn't be here anymore. Your observation is way off target here.
