Partial refund for fleet [CrtH] consoles should be offered

darramouss1darramouss1 Member Posts: 1,811 Arc User
None of us like grinding but it's a part of the game. I spent a LOT of time grinding to get the resources to purchase 5 Fleet Spire [CrtH] consoles for a Beam Overload ship. Now they're wasted. Useless. I can't even transfer them to other characters on my account.

Because of Beam Overload now being a critical on every hit I think Cryptic should offer a partial refund for those consoles if you're buying a different type of Fleet Spire tactical console. I think it's the least Cryptic can do.

Don't shoot the messenger, but we both know it is never going to happen.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

They were never sold to you in the assumption that you would have only used them for Beam Overload, therefore, there would be no reason for them to refund anything to you.

Um, how's about No!? Or how's about YOU pay Cryptic extra for bumping you to 100% CrtH?! :)

Look at his avatar, he is a Ferengi. Should we expect less? :P

Kidding aside, I don't see this happening either. Stick them on a cannon build if you have one.

Look at it this way... You won't be firing a BO with every single shot, so the +CrtH is still useful. Higher crit chance on standard shots = $$ :)

yeah.. he seems to forget that all the crit hit helps with all his normal weapons fire as well. I mean, you can beam overload every shot right? the console wasn't made useless to him, and he cant even see it...

however, as the years go on, I think you should be able to trade a console for another in the fleet system.. I mean, what if you decide you don't want phasers anymore, and your gonna try your hand at say plasma. it would be nifty if you could go to the spire, and trade a phser console for a plasma console straight up..

You know, a "trade-in" option wouldn't be such a bad thing, in my view. It would allow people to try new builds more often - if you could trade in your fleet polarons and fleet polaron tac consoles for fleet tetryon because you wanted to play with a new tetryon build...I do not think that's necessarily a bad thing for the game or a sense of entitlement. Simply a way to make things a bit more flexible.

Besides, according to Geko, crafting will eventually allow you to change modifiers.

I want a refund on my wells, recluse, scimitar, and dyson destroyer pack. I never use these ships because I think they are terrible, boring, ugly. I demeand cryptic address my buyers remorse because I am important. I have an LTS, and I still buy Zen AND I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night. Furthermore, as a pvper I demand that my voice be heard, as I represent a community half the size of most fleets.

I also demand my refunds in advance for the Lobi I spend trying out all of the items in the game. I am a special snowflake, and I

    forget it, this is boring.

No, they should have raised the price on crtD consoles. Game needs more dil sinks.

    Sarcasm? Or are you high?

    1. Not going to happen
    2. I really do not see how they are useless, they are still increasing chance, merely that the impact is on attacks when not having BO.

If he's a Ferengi he should know that all sales are final.

Indeed, caveat emptor..... the phrase is attached to just about every item purchasable on any MMO anywhere.

    ?

The game needs more dil sinks, the price of zen has gotten really high, we need sinks to being the price of zen down.

People like fleet tac consoles and they buy a lot of them, increasing the dil price for them would be a good sink.

If there is one thing this game does not need, it is more dil sinks.

What we really need is some substantial ec sinks.

Yeah, I don't think so. Hard to get people to part with their dil now as it is.... tends to me one of the spots that is hard to fill in fleet holdings.... few want to give any up as it is. Dil is relatively static anyway, used almost everywhere and have a very fixed flow. What this game needs for a sink is some massive ec sinks..... ec value is absurdly low because there is just a massive flood of it in the market and none going much of anywhere. And despite all the moaning and groaning in the recent past about it messing with ec income, the vendor nerf has little impact.

Ec sinks aren't really necessary since ec cost inflation isn't a bad thing.

Dil inflation is bad though. If the game didn't need more dil sinks then there wouldn't be dil inflation, so what you said can't possibly be true can it?

I propose a doubling of dil requirements across the board as a preliminary measure.

I also think that it would be good if when your ship blew up there was a small chance of an item being permanently destroyed.

If people had to buy new fleet consoles periodically because their old ones wore out or were destroyed, that would be a good way to sink dil and keep zen prices low.

    What are you smoking?

People like you make me sad that i even play this game.

You bought the consoles, they will still work with every other weapon, i don't know wtf you are even thinking that somehow Cryptic is responsible that you bought something so expensive to base it around one mechanic. It doesn't wash mate, they are still awesome consoles.

You are just clutching at straws for a refund now Mk XIV gear has been announced. Seriously man, get some ****ing dignity.

The price of Zen isnt even remotely close to being too high. Anyone crying about it obviously thinks Zen(Real Money) should be dirt cheap for those not willing to invest their own real money into the game. But heck, TRIBBLE the guys that did throw real money into the game amirite?

Ha! They're hardly useless. Crit-h still gives regular beam attacks a higher crit chance. So even though BO may always crit now, bfaw doesn't, and the shots between bo still have a higher crit chance thanks to it. So, not only will a reimbursement never happen, it isn't necessary.

bo is pretty much getting regular nerfs now, so its only a matter of time til it becomes completely useless for everyone bar the hardest-hitting romulan alpha tacs. so hang on to those locators. youre going to need them again soon enough.
