issue with excel transwarp

deaftravis05deaftravis05 Member Posts: 4,885 Arc User
It was my understanding the excel is supposed to have transwarp to all sector blocks,

but that hasn't been upgraded. When will the Excel's ability to transwarp to all the sector blocks be fixed?

The advanced heavy crusier retrofit Excelsior does have that ability in game currently and it works.

Wich one does it not go to?
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Every ship can transwarp to all sector blocks with a mission replay and a handful of EC.

They may have left Tau Dewa off of the Excelsior's transwarp list because it is a rep reward. Also I believe it only covered all sector blocks that had Federation interests in.

Sierra, Regulus, Eta Eridani, Beta Ursae, Alpha Centauri, and maybe Pi Canis.

    Just checked the C-Store description:
    • Regulus
    • Sirius
    • Pi Canis
    • Alpha Centauri
    • Psi Velorum
    • Iota Pavonis
    • Beta Ursae
    • Alpha Trianguli
    • Tau Dewa
    • Eta Eridani

    So wich one dosen't work?

According to STO Wiki, it looks like the following sector blocks are missing:

Omega Leonis (understandable, given Diplomatic Immunity restrictions)
Zeta Andromedae (if true, I don't understand why this would be)
Orellius (not understandable, though it is a small sector block)
Gamma Orionis (understandable, given level restrictions)
    Pelia (understandable, given level restrictions)
You're right. The work here is very important.

Zeta Andromedae (if true, I don't understand why this would be) Nothing of interests there beyond story missions
Orellius (not understandable, though it is a small sector block) Though the sector block is not restricted, the missions there are.

Pelia (understandable, given level restrictions) Agreed

    My thoughts in red.

Regarding ZA and Orellius, I see your points, but I don't see the harm in adding them to the transwarp list, if only for the sake of completion.

It's all academic to me - I don't own an Excelsior.

Well fortunally the Wiki is not a handbook for STO... It's community based.

I agree. I do have it on one of my characters but, I have docked it (for now) in favor of a more support type cruiser (Mirror Heavy Cruiser Retrofit).

Are you saying the wiki entry is inaccurate? Care to correct the record?

Yes the wiki is inaccurate... Has been for 1½ years...

No... I could'n care less if it's accurate or not. Since I don't use it, whatever info is there is of no consequence to me.

If you feel that bad it, go fix it... Not my responsibility to fix something you could have read in-game... Especially since it's a non-issue to me.

Well .. should The Excelsior be able to go to those sectors? Don't get me wrong, I love the ship and I'm sticking to it no matter what happens in STO (until I quit or STO closes) ... yet I have not grumbled at the lack of the sectors listed.

Maybe it's just me ... but is this a real problem?

No its not... We got what we payed for when we got the ship... It was clearly described... And now we are stuck with it...

In my opinion? No. As I mentioned, I don't even own the ship.

At the same time, though, outside of those sectors which are restricted...sure, why not?

I'd like to be able to go to any sectors that have a red alert... if I see a distress call, I gotta respond... I jump into my excel and see it's a sector I can't transwarp to, ie... ZA. I get sad.

When you take advantage of the "to be announced at some indeterminate future point" ability to upgrade it to be "competitive" with Tier 6? :P

OP, you can use very overpriced transwarp coils and forget about exel.

Excelsior transwarping to Tau Dewa is one of my two contributions to the game. :P

When LOR came out, the Excelsior didn't have a transwarp to Tau Dewa. I bugged Dstahl about it in a forum Q&A, and his response was along the lines of, "Never noticed that, we'll get it added." Sure enough, next patch brought the Tau Dewa sector to the ship's transwarp ability. Too bad they didn't add the other missing sectors at the same time.

Incidentally, my other one was finding a dialogue screen in LOR beta where the Tovan actor noticeably flubbed his line, called for a reset, and started from the beginning. XD

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!
