Hehe, I did a run yesterday in a Risian cruiser setup as a FaW Rainbow variant of the old Dragon Flagship build. I got parsed at 8400 DPS. O_O'

    I know what you're saying.

I've met people flying expensive endgame ships who had no idea what Emergency Powers did, nor repair abilities like Engineering Team were there at all.

Some folks just copypasta the builds. One of the reasons that I dig that the high DPS folks have been doing some educational stuff for folks out there.

    Heh , I can do 3-4K in my K'Tinga !
I already have a "Don't parse me Bro !" micro next to GG .
Disclaimer: Yes, S9.5 might have pushed me over the edge. C'est STO.

I'd put that your Sig. :)

It's a nice thread here. Good to read.

I'll say that I personally like diversity. Yes, I'm running Aux2Batt FAWBoats (lately too many of them -> reason to get back to cannons), but I have some less than stellar builds (Single cannon Haakona rears its huge head).

If I'm in a science ship or a ship heavy on support I'll be happy with 4-5k DPS, because that's not their (main) point. Some builds may surprise me with much more than that, some fall right where I expected them.

Often when flying more support oriented cruisers, a good run to me is one without respawns for any team member. If at the same time I manage great DPS, reason to celebrate.

When flying my CRF-only Hegh'ta, a good run is when I get the highest percentage of flanking, respawning ain't that much of an issue, I'm used to it on a BoP. Of course the DPS numbers end up being worse than if I sprayed all Borg with CSV, but it's so much fun trying to get to flanks as fast as possible without blowing up because of core breaches all around.

When it comes to posting parses, I typically only do it after being asked to. And often when it shows not too pleasant numbers I stress the imperfections of any parse.

Last I saw they were doing 20k+ DPS builds for the weakest ships while also talking about trying to help folks learn to play better...course, that was before S9.5 - and - well, who could blame anybody for wanting to upload a video to YouTube of oneself deleting all their toons after S9.5...so who knows what they're up to, eh?

My main ship with my Fed Sci VA, a Fleet Nebula Retrofit, generally tops out at around 3.2k dps...; I still refuse to build for max dps output...what's the fun/challenge in vaping targets with one volley, I ask myself...none.... *shrug*

So, I and the U.S.S. Chattanooga leave the pew-pewing to the other ships on the team, while I run crowd control/debuffing and keep said teammates alive with lots of repairs and healing...and, as of late, people have been thanking me more and more for this, which really makes my day, knowing someone appreciates the work I do. :)

On top of everything else, in the last 5 weeks or so, I've actually managed to sell 2 people on the Fleet Nebula Retrofit, simply on the performance I put on with mine with them in a team with me...Starfleet OWES me! :D

Same here. I like to run my MMSE sometimes and do the saving and support. There is always an escort getting to close to something and comes flying out like bat out of hell with 1/8 of his hull left. I put a pretty band-aid on him and send back in. CEE is another. Scimi's don't like to move much in there, so i patrol the line and keep them all in the green, then they have their own heals if they get to much aggro.

So sometimes the parse levels are bad looking. but considering all the debuffs, GW2, TB3, ect. I'm throwing out, it helps the pew pews finish quicker. Plus running that aux at 135 makes the isometric charge pop nice. usually in the 70k-80k range on that last hit it does, which comes in handy.:D

I like this thread ... a lot. I have to say that I don't see too many low DPS pugs anymore (lots of prime time pugging). Probably they average somewhere between 4-8 with a few outliers on both ends.

But uh, are you actually facing that challenge? If everybody in the group - if it was a 2.5-2.8k premade - was running that, then the challenge would be there...otherwise, doesn't it get into the leeching angle?

    2,500 * 5 * 900 = 11,250,000...which isn't going to be enough damage to get the optional in 15 minutes.

A 2.8-3k group might be able to hit the 15m optional, but the 2.5k group won't.

And that's kind of where I'm an advocate for average DPS, though I'd bump that 3 up to 4 or so...doing either that 4-9k or 5-10k angle. I'm still dancing between that line there...there's just so much powercreep in the game, it's hard for folks not to show up massively overgeared for the content - fly around half-assed - and still put out those kind of numbers.

Hrmmm, I'm not sure what to make of this post in context of the thread...

Well to give you an idea, as to how effective a supposed 3-8k dps build can be, in such a short span, here is a link of one of my CSE runs (that's me on the top).

This was to show how much dps a ship, can deliver in a short time frame (meaning against a single enemy), and not a completely recorded mission.

Now I note my normal dps is anywhere between the 3k-8k normally, and depends on which parser is running also, but it is mainly because I am a lazy player when it comes to getting from point A, to point B, as I like to wait for cd timers to disappear, and also I am in no real rush other than get it done, and with the optional completed if possible.

This is from a non-BFAW Scimitar, using only one fleet item, an advanced fleet core, everything else is easily obtainable.

I heard it was 2-manned yesterday, not sure by whom, though.
