Starting July 2nd, 2014, we begin our next Monthly Screenshot Contest for the month of July! This thread will remain open until the contest entry phase closes on July 31st.

This month there will be two themes, each with it's own 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners! Each user may submit ONE ENTRY per theme. Users who post multiple entries need to define which image is for the entry and which are simply to show off to other users. Otherwise multiple entries per user in the same theme will disqualify each other.

July Theme 1: Majestic Starships

Submit your best screenshots of your mighty starships as they explore the Galaxy of STO in style. Show off how awe inspiring you can make your ships look by flying through ringed planetary systems, gaseous nebulas or asteroid belts.

July Theme 2: Captains in Action

Submit your best screenshots of your captains in action on any ground maps, space stations, or inside your very own ships. Are they battling invading enemies, viscous critters or strange hostile aliens? The choice is up to you! Get your best uniforms on, gather your away teams, and start taking snapshots!

This is the contest for all you Graphic Designers, Photographers and artsy Captains who want to submit some custom made screenshots of your adventures in STO!

Every month, we will have a themed contest where you can enter to compete for one of three prizes listed below. The monthly contest will start on the 1st of each month and will run until the end of that month. Winners will be picked the first week of each month, and announced by that weeks end. Wallpapers will be created the following Friday and posted on the STO ArcGames.com Media Gallery.

Prizes!

1st Prize = 1500 ZEN + Your screenshot gets made into an Official STO Wallpaper!

2nd Prize = 1000 ZEN

3rd Prize = 500 ZEN

These screenshots can be your chance to showcase your skills as a designer with custom UI placement, special effects, photography style filters or anything you can produce to wow the team.

All entries should be placed in this thread. This thread will be wiped clean every month prior to the judging phase to keep only the entries in this thread. This thread should be for the placement of image entries only. Any posts not containing an entry, or not staying within these rules will be removed.

Questions regarding this Contest:

The images created by using the instructions in the OP will result in a much larger image. This will need to be reduced in size to meet the image requirements using some kind of photo editing software. Photoshop is my recommendation, but you should be able to use MSPaint as well, or Gimp, or many other freeware programs out there.

The images can be taken anyway you want as long as you can produce the higher quality version for better scalability.

Text can be added if desired.

No 3D models or textures can be used in this contest. The image must contain in-game material.

All images must be submitted in JPEG form. No layered PSDs will be excepted. If you wish to create a custom border or UI interface, etc., you will have to bake it into the image when saving it as JPEG.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
