I like this update. In getting ready for Risa I bought a few of the old poppers. only to find out they were disabled. so I sold em off again. I am glad that the party balls still work, I found the discount vender for em and bought a bunch of em I still got 59 left and am looking forward to using em. (I( guess the discount was a glitch cause they have raised the price back up on this guy.

Ok, but dont get close to me with one of those disco balls all the time or i will kick your "ball" into your face :P, i just dont like disco balls. Thats all.

Psst- is there any chance one of the characters you're using to compare prices isn't a Ferengi, and the one who got the "discount vendor" is a Ferengi? You might check that... ;)

    Just saw your signature..

You do know that Caitians and Ferasans are already humanoid, right?

I'd assume so, since the signature does not imply otherwise.

Some folks are just quicker on the uptake than others.

"The Great Divide" in STO is defined as those that like social items and those that do not.

I stipulate that the divide is actually across simpler lines:

There are those of us here for Star Trek and don't have time for nonsense.

And there are those of us here for the Game part.

Unfortunately, there is currently no other option for those that are here for Star Trek.

Those that are here for the game can enjoy social items across many MMO's.

Although I've got to theorize that the social items would not be as enjoyable without people who don't like them to spring them on.

Sadly I had not noticed the lack of social items on Risa this year as they were there last year and I have learned to ignore them.

Star Trek's nonsense would like a word.

I'm sorry, but are these mutually exclusive? There are plenty of people who are here for both Trek and the game aspect, but the problem lies with the "don't have time for nonsense" part of that first statement. That's the issue. People want to pretend to be serious Star Trek officers on a massive multiplayer game, and that's unrealistic considering a game -- this is a game, by the way -- has to appeal to a very broad range of potential customers, casual gamers making up the bulk of that.

Tailoring to a small niche of players who want to stand around a fake bar soberly discussing pseudo-nonsense from a TV show isn't going to bring the money in.

Indeed, I can enjoy trek content, and I and stretch my legs nad have fun on Risa. Not mutually exclusive. But of course we already know what these New Essentialists are like.

I don't think this is a thread for whining about the Risa event. This is a thread discussing the latest additions in the latest patch. If you want a soap box for complaining, there are PLENTY of other whine threads open for that purpose. Not everything has to be anti-Cryptic, anti-Dev all the time.

Yes, we want cool things like snowballs on Risa.

Listen: the point isn't to be 100% positive 100% of the time. It's a given that STO is not a 100% perfect game; flaws exist, bugs run rampant, and there are always things we as players would like improved upon. That's the reality, and we're all -- painfully, in some cases- aware of this fact.

However, there are plenty of threads and subforums designed to voice concerns and complaints to Cryptic/PWE. There are dozens of complaint threads about the Risa event alone, and searching for one shouldn't take you more than a few seconds. When a positive thread IS created thanking the Devs for implementing something, that is not an invitation to jump in the thread and dump all your ST fanboy tears into it.

I will never understand the vehement hostility some players have towards the development team. Occasionally -- and yes, this might give you a shock -- the Devs do something that's WORTH praise! This may be a novel concept for some of you, but there have been complaints risen in the past over the use of social items on Risa, generally considered a social map. The Devs have responded by allowing their use, and thus satisfying the group of players that requested it. The Devs should be thanked for this, so a thread was created to do so.

If you come to the forums to whine and moan, then at least find or create an appropriate thread to vent your inane drivel.

EDIT: Additionally, dissenting opinion isn't looked down upon if there is something constructive to discuss. "The updates in the last patch were TRIBBLE (as always)" is not a constructive statement. Statements like that don't foster discussion, either. Admit that you aren't interested in debating the merits of the patch, you're simply appalled that some people actually like it.

You don't want people to be so judgemental? yet you toss out Fanboy, inane drivel bash Rp and whine about those who constantly moan about the game? Hello pot. have ya met the kettle?

I had no idea the stuff wasn't useable on Risa, and TBH didn't care, wish folks would not use the party ball on the race course but hey the rest of the place makes perfect sense to me. Not everyone wants everything. When folks are more respectful of others, it does help everyone, have a better time is my thing, you want the stuff Great enjoy have a blast, but remember, respect those around you, as you want to be respected.

Oh btw Nabreki, about that last bit, don't be so sure, Lots of RP folks spend money on this game for many many reasons, just like all of us. I know, I've dumped a good bit of cash into the game for that very reason.

Risa is a great addition to just get away. More wardrobe for men (swimsuits and other casual ware) would have been nice though. Men's clothes are rather limited.

    Quick request on swimsuits:

Please give the KDF swimsuits access to the color spectrum that the Feds have access to.

If this helps QA - On my Alien, KDF, female, wearing the "Tie Waist", I notice this severe limit in available colors compared to my Fed characters when customizing their suits.

    Thank you Cryptic team,

    Adrianne Grady
