Tribble Maintenance and Release Notes - June 11, 2014

We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.40.20140525a.14

General:
  • Summer Event:
    • Powerboard descriptions now explicitly list their speed and turn ratings.
    • Risian DOFFs now list their chance to fire.
      • (Tectonics expert)/bonus to dodge (emergency power to party)/subsystem power bonuses (Risian drift).
    • Moved the Arenologist onto the sand south of the promenade where he's easier to reach while building sand castles.
    • Resolved an issue that prevented Vulcans from being able to kick over castles at the spot south of the promenade.
    • The dance instructor, Horga'hn collector, Powerboarder, and Arenologist now have information about what time their respective events happen.
    • The Horga'hn Hunt event now lasts the full 15 minutes instead of ending 1 minute early.
    • Risian Lohlunat Pearl Bundle description updated:
      • "Risian corvette" changed to "Risian Starships"
      • "A small bundle of" changed to "2-6"
        • This is a text change only as the package has always contained this range of Pearls.
    • Preview images have been added to Risian powerboard items.
      • To view the preview, right click on the powerboard item in the store window.
      • The long description of the item will appear and includes a large preview image.
      • In your inventory you can view the image by right clicking on the item and selecting "Info."
    • Swimsuits can now use black, white, and a range of warm and cool gray colors.
    • Reman males can now wear swimsuits.
  • Undine Space Battlezone:
    • Special Duty Officer Assignments are now available in the battlezone.
    • You can only access the assignments in the entrance of the Undine Space Battlezone.
  • Private queues can now be made for Undine Assault.
  • The Vice Admiral Jacket is back in the tailor.
  • Reman Females can no longer choose Bare Skin as an upper option in Formal Wear.

Known Issues:
  • New kit modules do not have their own search category in the Exchange.
  • Kits in your inventory cannot be equipped by double-clicking on them.
    • You can drag and drop slot them.

    Resolved an issue that prevented Vulcans from being able to kick over castles at the spot south of the promenade.

    Was that really an issue? C'mon, they're Vulcans. Should they be kicking over sand castles? :P

    edit: Just to make sure it's clear, the thanks wasn't a sarcastic one. It was a thanks for the update. We may not all care about the same things, but Cryptic updating/fixing/addressing stuff is good for the game in general.

    Actually, Vulcans have their own custom animation for kicking over sand castles.

    General:
    • Summer Event:

    Does this mean that access to the Summer Event area is being restored? Last time I checked, it was still inaccessible.

    I had tried transferring a character that was in the Summer Event area on Holodeck, and was unable to log into that character on Tribble.

    Edit: Apparently I still can't beam down to the Summer Resort. Is my account bugged somehow?

    There are a bunch of little QoL things that you guys do, that folks oft overlook as they're just running around trying to do everything "efficiently"...some of the stuff you guys do is simply awesome.

    Since you guys are fixing things on Risa, can you do something about the excessive bloom introduced in Season 9. If "Bloom quality" is set to "High", then the sand piles and tricorder scan beams are very hard to see during day. (Please note that the setting is "Bloom quality", not "Bloom intensity".) The problem is not exclusive to Risa; it also affects Nimbus III and Starfleet Academy.

    Lots of great bug fixes/QoL improvements! I hope these go to Holodeck tomorrow?

    I'm especially happy about these:

    Oddly enough, the fact that the characters that I have participated in the summer event with so far have all been Vulcans has meant that I was unaware that kicking over other players' sand castles was even an option.

    The Blooming was bad even before S9. I just set it to very low and all seems fine.
    Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

    so how about doing something about the unidine zone end rewards? you know, how killing less planet killers gives you more marks then killing them all?

    3/3=65+15
    2/3=95
    1/3=120

    does that seem right to you guys? did QA sign off on that? oh wait, im already done with rep, so i guess i don't care anymore. that current reward structure only doubled how long it took to grind out all the item sets :mad:

    Thanks for the swimsuit color upgrade.

    Now just make the dance and hunt twice an hour again and we'll be good :D

    Or increase the rewards for the sandcastle. :rolleyes:

    How about adding the missing powerboards to the vendor? (Ones shown in the shop, like the black and red, and ones not shown, like the Romulan faction board.)

    So all these fixes for the Summer Event (comprising the vast majority of the update) are available for testing on Tribble, but the Summer Event is not unlocked/available on Tribble? Hrm. :(

    And here I was hoping that they would add a "Swimming" emote so we could swim around the waters of risa. :(

    Also, I haven't been able to knock down anyone elses sand castles. Do we have to sign on a mission to do that?

    You have to progress your castle building accolade far enough to gain that ability and the castle you want to topple has to be finished for enough time. I think its one min.

    Eh I'd wait for them to be able to solve remedial problems before asking them to build new stuff. I'm taking a pool on if they will allow the costume problem to hit the 2 year mark or not lol.

    Summer event is BS with more bug's then last year its a complete waist of time !
    In the beginning there was all and then become nothing

    I AM PISSED OFF AFTER 3 YRS. I STILL CAN'T USE OR CHANGE OR DELETE OUTFIT IN 3 OF 5 OUTFIT SLOTS ON MY KLINGON TOON !

    I believe you have to build five different sandcastles to unlock the ability to kick them over.

    The bloom was not as bright before Season 9 with "Bloom quality" set to "High". You can see the differences in the my Tribble thread.

    Plenty of good fixes here, sure they'll be appreciated when they go live today, shame we can't actually check them first but oh well.

    Will there be any fixes/changes being made to the powerboard race in the foreseeable future?

    No, only if you persuade all others in the zone to only down one and don't kill the others (your participation does in some way affect the marks you get, but it's a somewhat different and even crazier animal).

    Ha, that's the first time I've heard of the Marks for the planet killers being wrong. Whoops. Yeah, that needs a fix.
