Alt toons only need 40 pearls

so if you have the corvette on one toon it only costs 40 toons to unlock it on another toon. this is awesome! tyvm cryptic

This is good news indeed.
It is good, if all too rare, to see Cryptic being generous in this sort of context.
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!

This act of kindness may just well be the crowbar PWE/Cryptic needed to get their little mits on my money again :P

I mean that we'll get the same discount for that ship as well as soon as we get it on one character and not next year?

I would be logical for it to apply to the Risian Cruise ship too. Then you would only need to get 1000 pearls once, and have a relaxing stay at Risa for your alts, just need to do one of the daily floater mission...

That's odd...seven of my toons didn't exist last year (rerolls at the end of 2013 for 2014)...they're all sporting the 40 pearl cost on the Corvette (I kept one guy from last year). Might want to bug report that so frost can look at it.
Did you by accident look at the wrong project ? The cruiser doesn't get the discount for having the corvette.
Once you get the corvette on one character, ALL characters on your account, even those created after last year's event, gets the discount.
The cruiser is separate; you need 1000 pearls on one character to get the discount for that.
If you never got the corvette and want both, you would need to farm 1000 pearls on two toons to get both discounts.
Yes, that's what's supposed to happen. I'm not the one experiencing the issue of that not happening.

Not true. NONE of my characters have ever purchased the Corvette, but most of which are eligible for the discounted price. I have another toon that's been around but the cost is 1000 still. Another toon I created mid-late last year was eligible for the 40 Pearl Cost.
The problem with "stuck" reps from last year is a code issue that our programmers are working on.
Thank you very much, it is a very much appreciated bonus for players.
I will now only need to run the daily flight training on one character for the cruiser, and can pay more attention to farming lolunats for all the new cool stuff.

Yes PLEASE!, this is a lifesaver (or at least a sanity saver) for those of us with a lot of Alts (I have 8 toons myself, and I know there are plenty of people with far more).

YES to the discount for the Winter Event.
YES to the discount for the Anniversary Event.
The biggest problem STO will face is people with time-intensive jobs not being able to sit down on 3, 4, 5, 6+ alts to get something that's great for all of them. Sitting down on one for an hour or less at a time for 3 weeks and the others only having to go through once lets the player schedule time to play when it's convenient for *him/her*, which will help PWE in the long-run IMO.
...needless question: how about some planning-consistency in the first place?! this counts for many other things as well, like f.e. unbalanced ammounts of dil to earn in different content in the same time, while dil is labelled as "time-currency"?! how much dil is 30 mins then? in different stf's, in pvp? ways to earn marks in relation to efford and time put in (in pvp i fight all the ships from the stf's-npc's... and in pvp they really shoot back like they should! :P)?.........

Its one of those alt friendly things that helps to keep things from detracting from the fun of it without it being some massively imbalanced act.
Last Summer, running it on 9 toons meant running through 675 courses. Needless to say, it didn't take long before it turned into I don't care if I don't get the ships - I don't even want to log into the game. Which kind of defeated the overall purpose of that combination of customer appreciation and by the way since you're here do you see what else we've got that you've got going on with such events.
It's definitely much appreciated.
This is especially helpful to me because I didn't get the Corvette last year. So this year I can get 1000 on character 1 for the Corvette and 1000 on character 2 for the Yacht and then discounts for everybody else.
