Yeah, one of the Tau Dewa patrol systems has Rebel Klingons, and you can farm it to your heart's content.

That said, adding NPC groups wouldn't fall under Tacofang's purview.

The thing with lights is that I don't think you would have any way to modify their color or distances.

So, I could put in some lights, but each would be frozen in color and range.

Any lights are good lights. Just a light, medium, and heavy white light sphere of sorts would do wonders for us. Or anything that could be a map wide ambient light increase for a custom interior would be nice. Maybe a backdrop could be used for that?

Thanks for continuing to interact with us on our requests, Taco.

Does this mean I should wait a while so I can build a conference room with decent carpeting and lights? Not to mention stairs...

Did anyone happen to mention them adding new chairs? Like, say, conference room chairs from the TNG era, or something like it?

I'm trying to build a conference room, complete with windows... it's slow-going.

It could look so much better: http://i.imgur.com/5IeGGTH.jpg

There are a number of assets from the new Earth Space Dock, including some sittable chairs. As to when it all hits Holodeck, not sure, but I'd keep an eye out for the release notes for tomorrow's patch.

Yeah, you can build a killer conference room now (when this stuff gets on HD), with the esd props, carpets, ceiling lights, etc. Windows are still tricky. I would use the UP frosted glass panes and hide the logo in the non-window part of a wall. Otherwise, you have to use those weird shaped windows with the holes.

By that pic though, it's going to be a pretty dark set. Try hiding some of those big purple wall consoles in a wall to add light.

Dark purple wall consoles? You mean the ones that are like giant flat-screen televisions?

Also I had planned to put invisible walls instead of trying to fit glass into the windows.

Hiding the panels in the walls seems to work nicely. Still wish we had actual lighting options, but it's passable.

I'm sort of building a large portion of a ship's interior so I can reuse the map later. Really all that makes it look dark is the black floor, I think.

Yeah that looks much better. There are a few other props that emit light, but I don't think we've ever made a list of which ones they are.

That might be a really good thing to publish as a resource, assuming we don't get lighting anytime soon.

Holy TRIBBLE there are PADDs, now! Such timing!

And Admiral Quinn's chair is a little too nice, maybe... but it's more fitting than a TOS chair for the era.

Making curved walls is... damned difficult.

Some of the best news ever for the foundry! I had worked out how to kinda sorta make floors with fed military buildings but it was time consuming. now i just need to get my hand out of this cast...

Yeah just about any option would help.

Although, I think a backdrop that could increase ambient lighting would be the best option. That way we don't have to waste detail objects on placing a bunch of lights.

If you combine an ambient lighting increase with a generic starfield you would be able to have any sort of starship or starbase with clear windows.

Another option would be a platform/ceiling for starships/starbases that had lighting on the bottom side.

In any case, just about any option for lighting would be a plus. It is one area where the Foundry is currently sorely lacking.
