Romulans should have Kestrel Runabouts as hangar pets

Romulans should have Kestrel Runabouts as hangar pets, as other factions has several choices, but i feel odd using the delta flyers as my hangar pets... scorpion fighters are ok, but we need something a Little more resilient...

    Totally on board with this.

I also wouldn't mind Elite Kestrels actually boasting an up-to-date 2410 skin (styled after the Dhael/Valdore/D'rithau warbirds) to stand as Yellowstone equivalents.

Because they would be a cool new shuttle for us to fly too. :)

I could get behind Tiercel Shuttles and Kestrel Runabouts as pets. Maybe released with a full carrier? Although that would probably come with T'varo frigate pets or something.

    I can dream.

This actually sounds like a decent suggestion. I'd like to take it one further and suggest that the Klingons get their Kivra and Toron shuttles as hanger pets as well, otherwise you know the KDF players will rage. If these pets get made... everyone wins and has at least one Runabout type hanger pet.

Sadly this has been suggested many times before. Don't hold your breath.

Agreed on both (Kestrel and KDF shuttle suggestion).

While the feds have 2 medium sized pets (Runabout and Delta flyer) the KDF in general has just ONE from a paid ship and KDF allied roms don't even have access to that one...

I could get behind this idea. Though I wish the Romulans would get more science/engineering-focused Warbirdss too. Most existing Warbirds are tactical-focused.

Engineering has it somewhat better with the D'deridex, Ha'apax/Haakona, and perhaps the Falchion Dreadnought. Though of those, the Falchion still has that Commander Tactical focus, the D'deridex has LtCom Sci and Tac slots, and the Haakona has its multivector console. One might count the other dreadnought variants, since they do play more closely to classic engineering bricks, but your mileage may vary on that one.

Cruiseresque warbirds in general lack cruiser commands Fed and Klingon ships get, probably on account of the singularity powers and battle cloaking.

Sci ships? The Dyson Destroyers and the Ha'nom are pretty much it, and the former lean every which way on account of the Tactical Mode and the Engineering and Tactical-focused variants. Not counting the Tulwar here, since while it has the consoles it lacks any of the sci ship gimmicks like Sensor Analysis or Subsystem Targeting.

I would like to have Kestrels as hangar attack pets, but, personally, I would prefer if we had T'lissir and/or T'varor as hangar attack pets.

T'Varos would most assuredly be counted as Frigates. And right now, there are no bonafide 2-hangar Carriers in the Rom lineup. Only the 2-hangared Carriers access Frigates. The Scimitar already has its unique Frigate.

I agree about the scimitar, it has its own frigates, but we need kestrels, it should not imbalance the game, as of now i can use deltas, runabouts ans shuttles with no problem, i still think it could be implemented :), i wish a dev can enligthten us a Little bit abojt the subject.

Yes, I know we don't have any full carrier at the moment. I'm saying we should have, and T'lissir and/or T'varor would be the rational option for the type of hangar pet such a carrier would have.

I can see it now...4 elite t'varo with the red plasma ball of death ability! Probably so slow and avoidable would be useless in most cases though and a death trap to the pets thanks to the way the devs designed torps and the game.

Let's avoid Straw Man mischaracterizations, please. I'm a proud Romulan, but I'm neither stupid nor crazy. Cryptic would never give the hangar pets the BIG RED ROMULAN BALL OF DEATH (if they did, then it would be they who would be stupid or crazy, and I haven't seen evidence supporting that view). But the Light Warbirds themselves as hangar attack pets is an idea which is far from inconsistent with the situation in Starfleet and the KDF with their Frigates and BoPs as hangar attack pets.

It's generally the other way around. Frigates are tied to particular ships not "generally available on 2 hangar carriers".
There are one hangar ships with frigates (well at Keats one, the scimitar) and 2 hangar ships with no frigates.(atrox, Dyson...)
And thee are no generally available frigates. Bops can only work on the vo'quv variants, jem hadar bugs only on the jem carrier...

Bottom line frigates are more a part of particular ships unlike fighters and shuttles that are part of the faction lineup.

Would love to see this, be nice for Romulans to have more than just scorpions. Kestrels could cover the runabouts role as a hangar pet, but what could be used to cover for the delta flyer rommy side?

A Kestrel variant could be created (and sold ln the cstore) to fullfill that role, i guess

They don't need to have exact equals.
The kdf has no mid size pet outside of the cstore flight deck carriers and that one doesn't match delta flyer or runabout.

We "need" mid sized pets in general, especially for ships that can't use frigates. Cause fighters die in some content far to fast, mid sized are more durable.

I'd personally prefer something... More badass then the kestrel but it would do the job.

Doesn't have to be one, but I suppose the Kestrel can be used as one type of shuttle and if a second there is the Tiercel.
