Massive additions to foundry assets inbound on Tribble.
We're still trying to catalog them, but...
WE HAZ FLOORS! Federation carpet, metal floors, Klingon floors, Romulan floors. All of them are textured on the bottom so they look good for ceilings.
Water planes, lots and lots of water planes!
All kinds of new esd consoles, crates, wall props.
Ceiling lights!
This is the biggest and most exciting update to the Foundry assets in 3 years.
PS. Tacofangs is awesome! Thank you to Taco and any other dev who had something to do with this update. It's a game changer for our ability to make custom interiors.
So many useful Assets, Thank you mysterious Foundry Deities
May our Mission Offerings gratify the player base with new found levels of map Quality
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
Taco, Kestral, and any other Cryptic Dudes or Dudettes that have been uploading this stuff and filling in tooltips/description boxes totally deserve some high fives and props for this.

So, this, and the Holographic Consoles were kind of a test, to see if they'd work. We had a discussion on twitter about these. Since reports seem to be that the sittable chair works, and the holo console pops up when you get near it, I'll try to do more of that going forward. I'll also try to get sittable versions of all of the ESD bench seats, and the Admiral's chair in.
Oh man. . . I don't remember where I put the drain. Now someone will have to wade in there and find the plug.
I nominate Worffan.

I was wondering if the holographuc console was interactable. If you could pass along that the odyssey uniform is needed badly to match the npcs. Everything is greatly appreciated, thank you for taking the time to do it.

Really appreciate the work you guys put into this. You guys did an amazing job and really gave a lot of new things to work with. Looking forward to using them all!

That's just awesome !
We can make underwater missions, which is so cool ! And yeah, it works (you just never drown that's it, no big deal).
However, there is a small problem, no big deal, but can someone add the "viscosity/floating" property when under water ? Currently we can run like it's air. Just add the same properties than space when using an EV. Swimming under water is very close as flying in space as far as animations are concerned.
Not sure if you can do that, but the properties and animations are already there, just need to add them to the water block
Or, even better, let us add it, a "space-water area" block. We could use it for a low gravity area, or water, space...
Oooh.... I had fun. I made a test mission on tribble to demonstrate what you can do with the new water assets. It takes 16 of the big block to completely cover the Vulcan ground map.
Oh and I did find a minor glitch, Taco. The 500ft ESD water block has the wrong name(Romulan). It has the right description and appearance, but wrong name.
In case people are wondering.... regular water is dark and a bit murky, ESD water is swimming pool like, and Romulan water is pink like the rivers and streams on Mol'Rihan.
I think the only thing that could make it better is if we had a fourth set for the Grethor "water", but that's a niche thing and probably unnecessary.

Changing backdrops and sky affects the color of the water. I bet we could pull it off with the right lighting. I was able to make a convincing great link using the badlands backdrop.

It's occurred to me that putting an entire map "under water" might make for some interesting atmospheric effects. I just might have to experiment with water/sky combos to achieve an Undine fluidic atmosphere, that is unless someone else is already onto that.

NOTE that the underwater effect only works if you are within 33 (feet? metres? units?)
That is, if you are at Y0 and water is at Y34, you will no longer have the effect

I am definitely liking the changes! Finally I can make a conference area in my mission and sit people around the table in those new chairs!
I am also looking forward to replacing all of the building blocks I used to build my starbase with and put real floors in place. So many of our missions will finally look closer to what they should!

Just for Taco.

No, this update was purely from the environmental artists, so not new costumes.

I need to make one of the old ESD shipyard.

Looks like I'll be going back to some of my older missions for some map updates!
