Federation First Contacts Not Availabe

Despite being an Envoy, I am not being offered any additional First Contact missions.

Reproduction:

1. I am logged into Fed.

2. I have reached Envoy rank and completed my first First Contact.

3. First Contacts are no longer listed in "Available Missions" under Jiro Sugihara.

4. In addition, when speaking to Sugihara on ESD, when he says "Currently I can offer you these types of missions," only Diplomatic Investigations are listed.

    This has been an issue literally for years. The drop rate is messed up, the missions are very rare. I've been playing for a year over 6 characters, only played 2.

    I got one the day I got to max diplomacy rank. I've never seen one since. First Contact missions were one of the main reasons I got this game in the first place, and I hate the fact that they're so rare they might as well not exist.

    Hmm i am afraid, cryptic are done doing weekly mini - fixes. Until 2 weeks ago, they fooled players doing a few "fake" fixes every week, but it seems that they not going to even do that. I dont know if we are going to see any fix from now on.. lol. But this is just the beginning.. (i hope im wrong).

    Federation Ambassador Arin, has done one of these missions and never again found another

    Romulan Ambassador Saeihr has found no mission at all to do.

    Being a diplomat is an easy, but boring job in STO

    So there's no scheduled time for this to ever be fixed?

    Is there someone to whom I can address a complaint about this matter?

    Last time I got a First contact mission was at early season 6. :mad:

    However a few months ago some players were complaing about getting the mission, but being unable to did them because the required NPCs didn't spawned.

    So as far I know the First Contat missions still exists, but it seems like they're completely broken:mad::mad:


    I don't even know if a dev has acknowledged this bug

    You may want to sit down for that.
    The first contact missions would be great if there was a pacifist/exploration/diplomacy stance/aspect to the game. However, most if not all of the content is action driven, so the chances of it getting fixed are pretty low. And even if it gets fixed it's an irrelevant action. You are already at tier 4, so what you get from the mission is nothing and the first contact with that species has absolutely no influence in the rest of what you do in the game.
    The whole game had to be changed for those missions to be of any use.

    I believe you get (at Tier 3) the chance to do one.

    After you have done it once, it doesn't seem to drop anymore.

    Not sure whether intended or a bug

    I'm not doubting you but I'm pretty sure I got it at tier 4. And I have at least a character at tier 3 (almost 4) that didn't get any and he's Fed. The Rom didn't get any at 3 nor at 4.

    And yes, it would be a good way to level a few tiers. Much better than via DOffs

    In a recent interview on Priority One, Al Riviera stated that they are contemplating what to do with the whole Exploration system/Star cluster system (including First Contact missions), and that they may remove the whole system along with the clusters altogether... (he also mentioned that all the DOff assignemnts would be moved elsewhere)

    That is why Cryptic is ignoring any bugs or issues with the entire system... It would be a waste of time, if they tentatively plan to kill it anyways...

    Ah nice...instead of implementing a new way for it to work - and it can very well work as another aspect of the game - they think about removing it..

    Removing it would be very bad, it's a good place to hang out when you're tired of grinding.
    It should be improved instead of removed.

    I just wanted to say I am experiencing the same issue. It's very sad Cryptic won't solve it :( I did just the first one and I guess the next wouldn't be very different, but still - I am one of those olayers who likes reading everything and I enjoy missions based on information given by the NPC :)
