Weapons batteries taken off power tray

Whenever I warp to different area, Cryptic unslots my weapons batteries, and replaces them with a different stack, resulting in them either being taken off my power tray altogether, or (worse) put back on at a different location (like inside a tray I'm cycling).

Please, fix.

I can confirm that the Weapon Battery is occasionally being removed from my active Space Hot Tray. This seems to be associated with dropping a new stack of Weapon Batteries into the Device Slot.

I now always check my Space Hot Tray to make sure the Weapon Battery is still there before entering a STF....

This may be part of a larger problem where tray items revert to previous states, even though previous states should not even exist anymore. I've noticed an odd issue where if I move a power to a different tray slot, if I beam up and back down, it will have somehow moved back. This is despite the fact that I have no loadouts, and therefore, there should not even be a previous state to recall.

The batteries being moved is actually part of an old "bug that's not a bug" issue that's been around since season 7 began. Before that anytime you would slot a device, no matter what device, they would go into their the slots assigned to devices. Now new devices slotted go into random open slots, usually the hidden ones, it's one of the most annoying aspects of the game since season 7. reassign devices every time you slot one.

The reason I called it a "bug that's not a bug" is that the devs did this on purpose and thought having devices slot anywhere randomly would be a good idea, they were trying to make it so devices of a certain type I.E. weapons batteries, aux batteries etc. would always go into the same slot no matter where they were in the device slots. But I'd much rather have it so no matter what device you put into the ship/character device slots, they go into the corresponding tray slots.

Doesn't seem to be any specific type of consumable batteries it happens to. I've had it happen to shield batteries also.

I did notice something: it seems perfectly fine until I use a battery and then later drag a battery from my inventory to the device slot to refill it. The next time I change maps the stack of batteries is removed from the device slot and placed into my inventory and my spare stack of that battery is moved from far down my inventory to the top row right next to it.

Yes it was. For some dumb reason the devs thought it would be better to slot devices by type and not which device slot was being occupied no matter what device was in that slot. Personally I think it sucks because anytime I slot a device into I have to hit "P" unlock my tray, and drag the corresponding device power into the slot I want it in. Especially when changing device types.

Used to be if you assigned say the right half of the 3rd row to devices, things would go into them, automatically no matter what you slotted.

Yeah, this is anirritating QOL annoyance. If I put a device in my tray I put it there because I want it there and not some random-TRIBBLE otherwhere.

This just started happening to me too. My stack of aux batteries was down to 3, so I top it off from another stack, bringing my total up to 20. When I change zones, my ship goes back to only having 3 aux batteries, and I no longer have them anywhere on my ability tray. This is especially troubling when going into queues only to find I cannot activate the battery when I need it.

I am not allowed to start a new post, so I can only add to this most recent similar thread.

Problem - started with S9 patch I believe. My consumable devices (weapons/shields batteries etc) disappear from my tray when I travel from any ground location to a space stf. They are fine travelling from ground to normal space (system/sector) map or normal space to space stf. Oddly, my weapons battery is moved from Tray 1 to Tray 3 consistently, while my shield batteries seem to not go tray slot at all and have to be dragged from the powers menu, same with turret platforms I use. This occurs 100% of the time. This is annoying and growing into a game breaker. I would hope this have been fixed but search of the posts here reveals an seemingly old and ignored issue.

Honestly consumables have been broken since way before S9; S9 only made them worse.

    Workaround:

    Set up tray as desired
    Save loadout
    Switch Starship
    Switch back.
