Story Arc reward options

I just logged in last night for the first time in several weeks.
I checked out the new trait system and thought it was a good concept to help with power creep and to promote swapping to a ground build when I want. Not sure about the actual implementation as I did not really test the system out

The main reason I haven't been playing as much is due to the grind feel of this game. constantly doing the same things over and over again.

I also opened up the missions journal. Even though I have played all of the content as it was released I found myself amazed at how much story content there actually is in this game (even as a Klingon). Unfortunately once you run them a couple of times for 2 or 3 choices of gear options there is no need to ever run them again. In some cases that is a great shame as they are very good missions.

All of that being said all of my toons are top tier. The only content that is worth anything for me anymore is the starbase/reputation grind missions. Even though there is a good selection of these grind style encounters they are not very engaging and quickly burn me out from the game.

I am wondering if it would be difficult and appropriate to add reward choices to the story driven missions? This would give incentive to top tier players to re-run them. It would be nice to have an option to get an appropriate amount (based on time to run the mission) of Dilitium or reputation credits.

This way I could play the grind missions a couple of times and then switch to a story arc to round out a play session.

I don't know... YOu say you like the mission and would't mind a replay. Entertainment can be it's own reward. ;)
In fact Entertainment should be the only reward worth considering at all when playing the game.

Every currency or reward you can get in this game is make belief ultimately worth exactly zero.

So as long as you have fun doing it, who cares about the reward? ;)

Its a good point and I do have fun in the story missions.

Unfortunately it is an MMO with a progression system you have to work at.

I am just proposing to add the two together to enhance the enjoyment of the progression system and the replay of the old stories.

As I mentioned repeating the same missions over and over for reputation, fleet credits, or dilithium is not as much fun and why I do not play as much as I used to.

But I do think I will be replaying the story missions again from top to bottom without any added bonus for the fun factor.

There's thousands of foundry missions full of many different types of stories. You can start with the foundry spotlight missions and then just go from there. They all offer different challenges. There's lots of fun to be had without ever needing to replay an existing mission.

If Cryptic would do a quality pass for the Romulan and Cardassian arcs, then I would gladly replay missions more often. What would also help is adding a new daily that involves replaying a specific mission, which would grant you 1440 dilithium or 35 marks of your choice.

My only wish, is that with old missions you could set it to level appropriate for when you first ran it and could actually come back with lower level ships and re-enjoy those missions.

But it's fun ROFL-PWNing Cardassians in my T-5 D'D. :P I LOVE using projected singularity on those silly things that make photonic Galors. :P

I am proposing basically the same thing. Instead of a daily let it be a choice for every run. Maybe not the scale you proposed but dilithium or choice of marks box would be nice and add the correct incentive.

I enjoy foundry missions and play them from time to time. But it is possible to get dilithium for the effort.

I am just suggesting that the main story content also provide some kind of top level reward
