New queues are 100 % awesome. Played KDF all day team queues popping every 5 mins instead of every hour. Loved beating up on the Fed cupcakes who used to hide in FvF!
Not impressed so far, in the mixed arena all I got was premades v's PUG's (us) and stomped, as for the 1v1 2v2 queue, well I very rarely 1v1 in any circumstances, so I just see that channel as a E-Peen massage queue.
You're doing it wrong. It's a bit masochistic to solo queue in team arena. And obviously in the team arena you are going to run up against premades all day-- that's the point of it. Soloing in the team queue should be left to skilled vets with massive amounts of garumba!
Queue for the solo/duo arena and you will enjoy it more. It's not actually 1v1's and 2v2's. You still play in a full 5v5 match, it's just that it's all pugs (or max 2 people teamed) and there are no premades there.

Had a blast with that drain setup we were using! Not only is FvF hiding over, but so is Romulans online as we won every match and never had more then 1 or 2 roms at most against teams that had all roms like that 4 scimitar and 1 arkif team we fought. Best changes for pvp ever, now we just need cross faction queues.
That makes no sense. The obvious thing to do to avoid pugstomps is not to bring more premades in the public queues. I'm talking about privately organized matches.
I should make myself more clear. I premade/fleetmade to avoid bad behavior form players. I don't want to be on a team that has a afker, briefer(running into matches I without shields), grinders that are only in it for the dilithium. I would love to see clean honest matches, problem is people are competitive in nature and don't like to loose. As far a pug stomping it can happen with or without a premade.
Now we only need the cross faction teaming feature
yes, I was doing a 1v1 with a friend testing out my drain build and after he wanted to que up together so I could drain and he could burn hull.... but alias, my toon was KDF and his was fed.
Cryptic needs to do some real match making in the queues. I have been in matches where it was 5 escorts versus 5 cruisers/sci. I was in another where it was 2 escorts and 3 bops versus 4 wells/mobius and something other. Most of the matches I have been in it was mostly out balance one way or the other.

Public PvP queues are dead to me now, they just aren't fun after this update.
Non-Faction PvP in a faction based mmoRPG just feels ultimately pointless to me.
Guess all hope of a larger scale PvP metagame also died with this ill-concieved update.
Actually your wrong about that.
For FvF battles it was "combat simulations" but for FvK and KvK it was supposed to be real and actual combat.(KvK because unlike starfleet Klingons houses would regularly clash with arms in feuds.)
Regardless, wargames or no, I enjoyed the faction vs faction balance and dynamic.
Though LoR watered that down a bit, this update outright and completely destroyed it.
I did play it a few times and every time there was a premade team that caused a melt down on my pug team! Really there is nothing balanced in this game maybe the $~zen ratio thats all :rolleyes:

Just queue up in the Solo and Duo queue.
The normal queues allow 5-mans to team up, and are considered the premade queues.
We told them that matchmaking would be needed. They decided to save themselves one full hour of coding and skip that. Now we have unbalanced queues. Great job, Cryptic.
Just tried the new queues, plenty of new faces. But they don't know the power of TT.
Pugstomps all the matches I did, just because we had like 2 or 3 or 4 veterans on the same team. I quickly got bored.
thats not the problem.People don't play in team ...you dont need tt on all ships ...you only needed on the one that is the target of the enemy.A healer can live without it if the escorts (which have 2 tt) cast their tt on healer when it needs it.
They need to make a PvP tutorial ...they made a new game tutorial for fed ,kdf and romulans ...nonthing in that tutorial says anything about playing in team ,sharing heals ,moving all the time ,turning ,staying in reverse for better defense...they wasted time and money on making 3 useless tutorials and I say useless because you can use pvp tactics in pve but you can never use pve tactics in pvp.
The main problem is cloaks. new players come in with there shiney federation ship and normally their the only person visible and generally dog meat vape bait. They explode and they leave.
Beyond that, you might have one team with strong sci healers and vapers and the other team with 5 fawboat engineers, obviously matchmaking would have made a difference - but :cryptic: :rolleyes:
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

A full premade in the solo queue? Is that what you're saying? Teaming up with one friend isn't a premade.

1+1=2 so it is a premade ! And whats so great about them is that they are from a well known pvp fleet :eek:
