For some reason, armors like the Dyson combat armor are no longer showing as a suit of armor being physically worn by the character and there is no longer an option to enable or disable those visuals, this has been a problem since Season 9: A New Accord was released and I have noticed that the problem was not addressed in today's patch notes. Please fix this.
Seriously? I'll check that out when the server comes back up.
Did they just change that because I could not find that option before and assumed it was the same?
EDIT: I'm talking about officers though, not captains. We seem to have some options not available for the officers.
I've equipped a helmet on my Orion Tac Boff. It's in the Head Tab, and go to "Humanoid" (should be at the top of the options in the Head tab). You should find access to helmets there.
Yeah no, devs change this back, like asap, I want to be able to turn my armor visuals on and off without having to go to the freaken tailor just to make a costume appearance that lacks the armor and thus wasting a costume slot, what did you do this for huh? What is the point? Its just a means of sucking up time from us, and oh it also looks like its an attempt at getting people to purchase more costume slots, so I am not gonna fall for it, change it back so that we can turn the visuals on and off, immediately.
PS: To those of you who might THINK to even say it. Yes I realize I sound like I am demanding something, yes I realize I also sound like I am being a child, but let me tell you something, I dont care, im sick of stupid changes like this, and im not the only one, 30% of a fleet called House of Beautiful Orions (HOBO) have left the game and uninstalled due to changes made with this new season, so Im already mad at the devs, rightfully so, so go ahead and insult me if you want, I do not care what you think, im not here to impress anyone or look for like minded opinions. I have put up with enough unreasonable changes, tolerated them, even tried to deal with them and accept them, but my acceptance and tolerance of unreasonable alterations has hit its limit, I wont be quitting but nor am I just gonna stay silent.

how about no. This is a feature that I really like, and has gotten me very excited about armors again. It was mentioned for quite some time that kits and armor would be moved to costume slots so that players could modify them to their liking. While the system could use some improvements, namely Boffs receiving the same level of customization as the player, and some missing armor visuals added, this was a great step forward. It's also something the community has been asking for for a long time, since I've been around at least.
in many ways this is an improvement.
() you don't have to wear a specific type of armor just to get the visuals you like, which means more players are likely to wear other armors instead of sticking to just one.
() players no longer have to buy every officer the same armor to match, this is especially rough for Omega/Maco/Honor Guard armors and others that require an enormous expense just so that bridge officers can wear them.
() it adds much needed diversity to both the Klingon and Romulan outfit line up, bringing them closer in line with the level of customization of the Federation.
() there is no longer a charge for changing appearance, which is just awesome.
yes you can't enable/disable visuals anymore, but the ability to customize is worth it in my opinion. And many others agree. and reverting it back would like taking some of the few good things from this season and removing them.
Imperial Secret Order. "we are the ones that maintain the balance of power in the universe. May our shadow never fall upon you."
I love the customising. Especially as I've just unlocked the dyson armour. But do I need to unlock something else to get it in the tailor? I have the armour and the shield unlocked, but not the rifle. Do I need to get the full 3 piece set to unlock the option to do so?

Full set should either unlock a project to get the outfit for customization or unlock the outfit for customization. Same goes for Omega/MACO/KHG sets

While I acknowledge your argument there are some things that are just terrible, namely what they did to the trait system. I dont care who tells me otherwise and no matter what logic they try to spit at me, having to pick between only having 4 active space traits and 4 active ground traits is just lame. THE ONLY REASON THIS WAS DONE, was so newly turned lvl 50s would stop complaining about how much stronger other lvl 50s who have played the game far longer were in comparison. Sorry but thats the whole point of having played a game longer, you go around unlocking content getting new stuff for your character to make it stronger, if its stronger then someone who has yet to do the same as you oh well thats not a design flaw! I still out damage many newly turned lvl 50s because what I have in terms of gear and rep rewards is still superior, but they never the less whined and moaned about it because they are like "WAAAAAH this rep stuff takes to long to get all those cool powers, and without em I cant match these veteran lvl 50s who've done the grind, please lower their power closer to mine so I dont have to grind and unlock this stuff to have a chance!". Argue against this all you want, its not gonna prove me wrong.

Thanks. I saw that was the case prior to season 9, but wanted to check I hadn't wasted my time starting the rifle project right before 9 hit.

Now we just need the Rep costumes to not be separate tabs and be customizable with everything. I wouldn't mind mixing Dyson armor parts with my Hirogen armor.
I wouldn't care so much if the costume option was actually the same as the armor. I can't use the same color scheme to get the glow on the battle suit, the shoulders are different, and for some reason every part clips through other parts on my character (which the armor didn't do for some reason). If it's about a money grab I'll buy the costume slots just allow me to show the armor on it.

You mean I can't have Dyson chest with omega helmet and feet? Dang. That was the main reason I was starting to grind out my Omega rep.
Can boffs wear these armour options once unlocked?

Once you unlock the first costume project in any given Reputation, it gives you an extra costume slot.
Not bound to anything really, so if you want to make it your Reputation armor or something else, you could.
Outfitting BOs would still be a problem though, as they can't get extra costume slots under the current system.

As of S9, Boffs can use rep costumes in the tailor. Rep costumes are picked in a similar way as off-duty uniforms; there should be a drop down menu in the upper right corner of the tailor options under "head."

That would be cool but I don't find helmet options there. Or am I missing something?
Go to the "Head" tab.

Wait, does that mean I can now equip my Boffs with custom armor visuals? Or is that stupid ban still in place?
