Okay, I know what the Solonae secondary deflector is, and how it is necessary to complete the four piece set for Solanae ships, but I can't find what mission gets you the deflector...I've searched the forums and online, and I find a lot of people talking about it but no one mentions where to get it...any help please?
There is about as much water on Earth now as there was three billion years ago. But while the amount of water has remained static, the amount of tequila and Triple Sec available for the making of Margaritas has expanded enormously. So you see, we have made progress after all. ~Anonymous

The secondary deflector and the core only come on the standard edition science destroyer. You can buy it for 600 Lobi.

I'm talking about the Solonae secondary deflector, not the destabilizing secondary deflector that comes with the three ships...however, I may be having a dense day, but I can't find it in the lobi store...I've checked every category other than costumes and vanity pets, so might you clarify where you are saying to look for it?

Right, the Solanae Secondary Deflector comes on the Lobi science destroyer. Not the C-store science destroyer. You have to buy the ship itself for 600 Lobi to get both the Solanae Secondary Deflector and the Solanae Warp Core.

Okay I found t sorta...it came with the Solanae Dyson Science Destroyer that can be earned by completing the “Collect 2014 Anniversary Event Rewards” Event Reputation project while the 4 Years Anniversary Event is running. While this limited-time project requires a total of 1000 [Anniversary Qmendation]s of these tokens to complete, you will receive a package of 400 as a one-time bonus the first time you complete the new Feature Episode, “A Step Between Stars,” so it isn't in the lobi store and my guess is that when you bought it with the 1000 [Anniversary Qmendation]s it was probably bound to character on pickup as there are none to buy on the exchange...furthermore it may possibly be earned by the “A Step Between Stars,” episode, where it may be found, if that still available as a reward for the mission, and I suspect that will also be bound to character on pickup...now that I know where to find it, a second problem comes into play...I've tried that episode several times with another toon, and can't seem to get through it to the end...I keep getting stuck with finding the three alerts (or or maybe 4, whatever they're called) and after a number of attempts gave up in frustration...anyone have any hints on getting through that?

It's not available in the lobi store unless you are looking at some other lobi store than I am...

Alrighty, one more time since it seems you aren't understanding for some reason.

The Solanae Secondary Deflector only comes on the Dyson Science Destroyer that was given away during the Anniversary Event. That event has now ended and there is no way to get that ship for free.

After the event ended, they placed that ship into the Lobi Store for 600 Lobi Crystals. See the following picture:

    http://i.imgur.com/3E4I9vC.jpg

It's the one with the red arrow pointing at it. I literally just went into the game and took that pic. It's there.

You cannot get that ship from any missions. You cannot get it from A Step Between the Stars. There is no other way to get that ship except to buy it from the Lobi store or to buy one off the exchange. That's it.

I don't understand how you can see it and I can't...when I open the lobi store it goes from the hirogen apex, and the next is the advanced obelisk, and nothing inbetween the two...I've got the lobi store open right now...I don't understand how you can see it and I can't...

I'm going to reload STO, but if you hail and accept the step between the stars it shows it as one of the select your choice items...at least that's where I see it...

There's only two things I can think of then off the top of my head. You said that you tried A Step Between the Stars and couldn't finish it? You may need to finish it as that's the first mission where that ship shows up. It might be something weird because it's an event ship that they took out and just plunked it into the store.

Second one is, have you tried to look at the store on another character? There may be something weird going on with the character you're currently on. The box from the Lobi store can be traded, so maybe buy it with another character and send it to the one you want it on?

Just reloaded the entire game...it doesn't show in the lobi store as I just opened it...I have the mission a step between the stars, and it shows up as a "choose 1 of the following"...you get 480 dil, 11907 skill points, 10395 expertise, and the option to choose 1 of the following, and the deflector is the first item shown...obviously if I could buy it in the lobi store I would but its not showing up between the Hirogen ship and the obelisk...dunno how you see it...

First, I tried it with another toon, not this one, and good idea about trying the lobi store with another toon...doing that right now...

Right, go ahead and finish that mission. The deflector that it awards is this one:

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Solanae_Hybrid_Technologies#Solanae_Deflector_Array

Which is not the secondary deflector you are after. The ship might appear after you finish that mission. If it doesn't, try looking on a different character.

Nope..tried opening the lobi store on another toon and its still not in the lobi store....I think you may be right about completing the mission once...I'll try it again and see if I can get through it, but not a really fun episode if you have to struggle to get through it...last time I tried on another toon I was in it for over two hours and still couldn't finish...thanks for you help...anyone know anything about getting through the thing? Hints, tricks, tips, or whatever?

I don't have any written guides off hand, but I did find a full video walkthrough for you.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLkxw9oV8CA

It's a bit long though, almost an hour. But it's the whole mission. Do note that the mission has several different paths on it that happen at random. You're run might not be exactly as the video, but it should be close enough for you to get the hang of it.

Edit: There we go. That should be the right link now.

...and you're right about there being two deflector arrays...one is the Solanae Deflector Array, and the other is the Solonae Secondary Deflector, and you can be easily confused..it the 4th piece you need to complete the 4 piece set, and you get the three other pieces with the set of 3 ships from the zen store...now I go back to the beginning only this time looking for the Solonae Secondary Deflector...yeesh...but when I go to the sto.gampedia, com page for the Solonae Secondary Deflector it just lists the item and doesn't say where to get it...

Oh, that will be a great tip, thanks mucho...so my only problem becomes the hope that after completing the mission that ship shows up in the lobi store, cause if it doesn't I'm back to square 1...

Probably because you missed the grindaversary that introduced the ship and the secondary deflector that comes with it. There's no other way of aquiring it now then parting with 600 lobi. To get 600 lobi you have to spend more than 10k zen. I am sorry to say that you are stuck with a gimped shop until Cryptic introduces better secondary deflectors.

You're chasing the wild goose. The DSD that came with the mission is now in the Lobi store for 600 Lobi. There's C-Store variants that are better, but you're missing two pieces of it that come with the Anniversary DSD

Which goes back to the original problem that I'm not seeing it in the lobi store for 600 anything...I don't mind spending the zen, but I'm not seeing the ship in the lobi store...does something have to be unlocked first, and by what?

Okay, go to the Lobi store. Choose Ships and Crew. It's the second option after the Hirogen Apax Heavy Battlecruiser.

The only other solution I can think of is, if you obtained the mission before the event ended it could just maybe have a chance to give you the original reward, otherwise I would recommend completing it and see if it pops up in the lobi store afterwards.

Actually, that's the problem...opening the lobi store on any of my alts results in the same thing...under ship & crew it jumps from hirogen apex to advanced obelisk...no dyson science destroyer for any amount of lobi...everyone else seems to be seeing it, however, it doesn't show up when I open the lobi store...this can't be some kind of bug if everyone's seeing it but me...does anyone know if something has to be unlocked or mission has to be finished? Any clues?

And not to rain on your parade, but even if you were to get the version in the Lobi store that comes with the engine you will need to run the mission three times overall if you want the other three pieces of the Solanae set (primary deflector, impulse engines, and shield).

I'm not looking for the solanae deflector array...I'm looking for the solanae secondary deflector that comes with the dyson science destroyer, which was available in the Q event, where you collected Qmendations (1000) or when you ran the step between the stars mission and got the dyson science destroyer...everyone reports that they're seeing it in the lobi store and I'm not...that's the problem...I'd easily buy it for the 600 lobi if I could get at it...it's not showing up in my lobi store...

I agree with other posters... finishing a mission is never a waste. Finish the mission and see if just finishing it is enough to unlock it in the lobi store. Let's eliminate possible problems here.

    1. Finish "Step between Stars"...
    2. Check the lobi store...
    3. Post back to let us know the results...
    4. We'll brainstorm more afterward, if necessary...

Okay...just finished the mission successfully (brutal mission ) and it didn't give the ship...furthermore it's still not showing up when I open the lobi store...how are you guys getting it to show? This is nutz...and you can be sure I'm not gonna run it three more times just to complete the solanae hybrid technologies set...

Only one for thing I can think of and that it only shows up once you have about 600 lobi...I have 100 now, an all the other ships show up but not the dyson science destroyer, and if it is a lobi store ship like the others it would be able to buy from the exchange, but there are none there at any price...let's see what happens when I have 600 lobi...other than that I'm lost...
