Bonus XP Event (NOW ENDED)

We are currently running a special event where you can earn Bonus XP by playing content throughout the game! This event will run from today, Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10AM until Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10AM PDT. Click here for your local time zone.

During the event, content that provides skill points and expertise will reward a 100% (2x) Bonus above normal amounts – this bonus will be available for all content that rewards skill points and expertise.

We hope you'll enjoy this special event and we’ll see you in-game!

    Hey, I didn't receive your Pleasure Palace Rating form back yet; it's just a bureaucratic thing, but Sovereign Ba'al believes strongly that anything worth doing is worth doing well, so I kind of need to know if your pleasure palace still needs anything as fast as possible.

    Thanks Cpt. Smirk! This sounds great - I can get my other toons 'up to speed', you could say. This is very good combined with the doff commendation XP boost as well.

    Do you know how often this kind of XP 'bonus' will occur?

    Oh, by the way, while I'm here, I thought I would post this question for other players, that I've been pondering.

    Why don't the FEDs have a frigate-class hangar pet? I mean, the Klingons have the Birds-of-prey, the Romulans have their romulan drone ships, but what have we FEDs got?

    True, you can get the ultra-rare ultra-expensive Jem'Hadar escort, or the Tholian mesh weaver, but the FEDs need something that everyone can buy.

    I call for a frigate-class hangar pet for FED characters. Am I just being stupid, or is there some sense in what I'm saying?

    Fly a scimitar, get drone ships.

    But for a true Fed hangar pet...I dunno if there's really a need. Runabouts do just fine, especially with those tractor beams.

    KDF pets tend to be tougher and have more damage, sure, but runabouts can corral a tac cube long enough for you to get some sustained fire on it.

    Oh good grief.

    Another xp event?

    That's three since the hourlies were taken away, as opposed to one marks and one dilithium event.

    I get that cryptic are concentrating on new players, and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it would not be a bad idea to throw the vets something they can use from time to time.

    And can we get even the faintest acknowledgement that the Romulan doff mission for the current event is broken?

    Well I'm glad to get a fasterway to level my KDF toon.

    Bout time I got one of them to 50 instead of only apair of Feds.

    Might even level my romy

    Yeah, that's why I said it. They're sort of the obvious option, at least from my POV.

    I will say that some Miranda hanger pets for a Jupiter dreadnought carrier would not be amiss at all, though.

    I mean, I LIKE the Jupiter. Great visuals, potential for a really good ship. Give it 4 fore, 3 aft, 2 hangar bays with the frigate option, give it decent console and boff layouts, and slap a 2,500 ZEN pricetag on it, and I'd buy instantly. Hell, slap a 3,500-ZEN pricetag on it with that layout, and I'd buy. It'd be a real Fed Dreadnought that could actually compete with or at least complement the Scimitar. Plus, it looks super cool.

    XP Event = More newer players and older players with low level alts get to lvel 50 faster and thus can BUY more zen ships.

    Dil Event = FREE ZEN.

    Do we really wonder why XP events come by faster?

    Isn't that the truth. Anything to increase overall revenue by utilizing the ZEN project. :D

    Yay! I was planning on leveling my Rommie in any case, but this event just makes it sweeter. Can't wait to buy my scimitar!

    Got a Sci Gorn working his way up... Hmm, should I treat him to a Lobi ship or a Z-Store ship once he hits 50. He'll be my first - I've always used my Tac Fed

    I actually hate the experience events. I do not like power leveling my characters. For me, leveling is part of the fun.

    Another pointless weekend. I don't mean to be a negative Nancy, but seriously.

    I loved taking my time on character level too. Till I had over a dozen.

    Now that I have 32 characters? Not so much. But I get what you're saying.

    I hear you, it's a weird one.

    The longer it takes me to level a character, the more money's worth I get out of equipment I've paid for that isn't Tier 5 - if that makes sense.

    Perhaps if the Reputation aspects of this game made more sense (or, even, were reasonably priced), I might be able to get as much joy from endgame as I do when levelling. Endgame should be MORE fun than levelling. Started mucking around with Dyson, seems fun. Pugging with randoms to try and level Omega Rep, not so much. Get in a fleet, people say. I'm in an awesome one, and it just means that all that dil I'm earning doesn't even belong to me, I can't swap it for Zen, because I now have obligations. Yes, you can get all this great stuff - IF the rest of the fleet allows you to purchase it from the fleet shop. Or is even online, for that matter.

    It bothers me that perhaps it's not that levelling is so much fun, it's that it's preferable to endgame.

    This is just my opinion though, and I've never tried writing an MMO so good on Cryptic for producing it.

    (Doesn't mean I think it's perfect though.)

    And THAT'S why I prefer to level my chars.

    I miss the old event system.

    We just had a bonus XP event a few weeks ago. Bring back the marks or dilithium event!
    Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
    True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!

    They are doing this event only to get more people to lvl 50 so they can do the endless grind maybe they did something that can see how many toons were below the average. Last XP event in two days my character gained 10 lvls just by doffing So I should be able to get to Lvl 50 with a full week and that is also with work.

    I guess this event will be handy to me. I just created a new character to handle all the giveaway duties and she needs more bag and bank space. Looks like I may power level this one. I usually do not like doing that, but the extra space is direly needed.

    Looks like this worked out nicely.

    Happy Monday everyone,

    Our Bonus XP Event has begun, and we hope you all enjoy the added XP to level up any lower level characters you have, and don't forget that you can earn expertise for rep projects too!

    This is a nice way for anyone who is still lower level to boost their characters up to max level 50 just in time for Season 9's launch on the 22nd. We have a lot of end game level content coming out with the release, and we want to make sure that as many players as possible can participate in that level 50 content before the launch.

    Take care everyone, and watch out for enemy NPCs out there!

    I do not think I need any more xp with over 20 million do you ? , I also know that some have a lot more :rolleyes: .

    So are we switching now to week long events instead of weekend only events? If so I think this is a good thing or is this event an exception?
