Last night I completed a clean Windows 7 install on my PC and decided to reinstall STO using ARC since eventually it's all going to go that way anyway. But now I do not get any screenshots when pressing print screen in game. I even went in and manually created the screenshot folder in LIVE, I also ran a force verify, still no screen shots. The game momentarily pauses like it is creating a screen shot, but there is nothing in the folder.
I just went through a good chunk of the much better looking federation episodes too. I wanted shots of those but I've found nothing in the screenshots folder.
I just tried doing a screenshot on a PC not running ARC that has had STO installed on it for over a year and it works fine. I guess this is an ARC issue??? Would be nice to hear on feedback from Cryptic on this.
Same here. I've played on and off since release and I've got several gigabytes worth of screenshots saved up. I'm addicted to taking screenies of this game, but my printscreen button has recently stopped saving images.
I can still save screenshots using the /screenshot commands but my printscreen button no longer has any effect in-game. I have installed ARC recently, but I uninstalled it and continue to use steam to launch the game.
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
I had this problem too so I used keybinds to just rebind the /screenshot function to another key.
I am using the Steam version of the game on Windows 7 and I can confirm that this works, even though my printscreen key no longer does.
I chose the "c" key because it's not already bound by default in space and makes me think "camera" or "capture".
The syntax is simple. Type the following into the chat window box:
/bind c screenshot
This will save a full-res .tga screenshot without the HUD into the Star Trek Online\Live\screenshots folder whenever the "c" key is pressed, just like the printscreen key used to.
For .jpg images (smaller file size but lower quality compressed image) just type:
Not sure if it helps but, I made sure that the "Screenhots" folder was in the right place and it fixed the problem.
\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online\Live\Screenshots

This so completely worked for me. Knew it had to be some simple Cryptic incompetence at fault. Like not creating all necessary folders needed when installing a game client. It's amateur hour as usual around here.

Anybody else having problems?
I've been here since beta

Some post about making a screenshot.
Oh, and don't forget to run ARC/STO under administrator rights (to be even allowed to write screenshots to folder).
I call it, the Stoutes paradox.
