Exocomp PLEASE!?

ussfuryussfury Member Posts: 142 Arc User
Seeing as how the "escort shapeshifter prisoner" mission has been changed (you need a shapeshifter in a bucket and then assign an escort) I'd like to (again) request that the special Exocomp DO be redeemable to those who may have lost him accidentally.

I've mentioned it before that the "escort shapeshifter mission" was ambiguous, so that I assigned my Exocomp to escort the shapeshifter. NOT that he WAS the shapeshifter. And the red "you will loose this officer..." text was below the scroll.

A 350 day cool down to claim him again would be greatly appreciated, so those who have lost him have the change to pick him up again once a year.

Ugh. I've lost a purple doff to that mission myself. Luckily it wasn't a unique one like the Exocomp, but yeah I've fallen into the Escort Shapeshifter trap.

A agree. A couple of the "You will loose this officer" are below the scrolls. The "recruit officers for development on whatever planet" missions do this too.

I remember when I executed the purple doff from the crystaline catastrophe event this way. I figured she should investigate wether or not there were shapeshifters amongst my crew, not that... well... it was ugly :D

I lost my Exocomp shortly after the first Junior Officer event, back when DOff eating missions weren't marked as clearly as they are now.

    Let them be reclaimed.

I think any unique doff should be reclaimable.

However i can see this being exploited by the doff being used to crit missions where they would be lost. rinse and repeat.

a more helpful suggestion would be to move the warning that a doff would be list to the top of the mission dialogue.

Sadly, if you could reclaim a doff you 'lost' - then you could not trade them, or downsize them. They would become semi-permanent crew.

The occasional accidental execution is good for morale. It keeps the rest firmly aware of their sense of worth in an organization.

The beatings will continue until morale improves?

Yeah, it could be gamed by critting for missions, but that would be the reason for the 360 something day cool down.

You have the chance to get one when the vent rolls around. If you use it to crit a death mission, then you need to wait until next year.

I think the best solution is to only allow reclaims during the associated event.... and maybe add a week or so CD to prevent farming.

    Wow thats really disappointing.

I lost mine through one of those missions too, and i have been waiting a year to get a new one.
But now its gone forever? Ouch.

As you say, there is no reason not to give one out each year if your's has been lost.
Can't abuse it. Crit one mission? I can't think of a single mission i would lose a doff for just to crit. Let alone only being able to do it once a year.
