I think it would be a good idea to replace DS9 with a Bajoran spacestation, anyone else agree?

Ummm, why would you replace one of the most iconic places in Star Trek with a no-name station?

    Terrible idea.

Ds9 is a bajoran station. Starfleet just runs the admin for them. Keep it as is.

I wish there was the Klingon restaurant at DS9, like in the series... it was so awesome... :o:o

I really hope that they let Taco get his saucy paws on a DS9 update. With the magic they've made with ESD, it can't happen soon enough.

DS9 IS a Bajoran station. They took over after the Cardassians abandoned it. Starfleet just does the Admin work. Although with Bajor now a full member of the Federation, they may have turned over the station to Starfleet entirely. *shrug*

You're a not nice person to even suggest updating it. In the novels, the station was destroyed and rebuilt into an abomination out of a 1950's wet dream.

    Do not mention this again.

    Ever.

Don't forget how old the station is, how long can the structure be expected to hold up against an Undine, or even Iconian(when they eventually appear) attack on it?

    Im just planning ahead.

DS9 is a touchy subject. Yes, things get updated. I am looking forward to the new ESD.

DS9 was home for us - there's never been another place like it.

The station HAS been updated. It's a lot BIGGER than the DS9 we're familiar with. At some point someone docked a gigantic bicycle pump to it and put some more air into it.

Well maybe if Taco had a little time to do a renovation of the area (maybe add the infirmary) like they did before The 2800 and made it a bit more accurate I would be very very happy.

When the Iconians return it will be the definition of Hell. They will turn our pretty locations to dust. And it will make all the current conflicts in the STO Universe seem like Skirmishes.

With regards Deep Space Nine and its future this is what I think should happen.

    1. New Exterior DS9 model and put Deep Space Nine with Bajor on one large space map. With real nebula's.
An example of where "They got it right" to a certain extent was in Bethesda Softworks Star Trek Legacy

    2. Interior of DS9, Texture enhancments and development of the stations structure, corridors, landing pads, infirmary. OPS (an option to call Red Alert) station security office e.t.c

If you wish to mention Age, then Space Dock, would be replaced first as it is older than Terok Nor/DS9. And, as we've seen, Cardassian designs are far sturdier than they appear. And that is not counting the other stations out their (like Regulas Science Station) that are possibly older than ESD.

The only reason it was conquered in 4400 series, and during the opening of the Dominion War, is because it didn't have the mobile back-up a stationary target needs for adequate defense against a large number of aggressors. Quantity is its own Quality.

DS9 has been shot up by Cardassians, Klingons, and the Dominion through out its service life, damage like that has to be considered.

Dude seriously, stop. It's an Iconic location in the star trek universe. No matter how old it is they are never gonna replace the station in game.

    Nor should they.

DS9 is where my my characters are 80% of the time. And the novel design was horrible. Even by Buck Rogers standards.

If DS9 is to get an update, it should be so it looks like it does in the show with the actual promenade, a better Quarks bar, the Klingon restaurant, the Security office, and more Dabo Girls.

If Deep Space K-7 (a far, far older station than DS9) is still fully operational in the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone, then there is no reason for DS9 to be replaced at all.

An update to the existing DS9 would be welcome though.
