I'm all for dropping the requirements, but I actually enjoy the mission.
I'd like it to stay around in the queue after the event ends and in the future bring back the 3 week mega reward from time to time. (maybe even do a weekend event from tiem to time where several of the time gated events open up and you can earn say Crystalline marks or Multispatial Transporters.)
I have about 20 characters, so I'm only doing it on my 3 mains, and I'd like the oppurtunity in the future to do it on others but to do it now would require playing it 5 hours in a row, every day for 2 weeks.

I have yet to see any mention of extra time to complete this event they are already running the event for 21 days so even if you were unlucky enough to loose out both times the server was down you should be able to still get the required 14 with 5 days to spare.
there may be many players who have over 10 trans-whatevers already on one or more characters if they were lucky enough to miss the outages.
and I happen to think the event is great fun btw.
if they extend the event that's fine by me but if they don't then that's no problem either.
there have been times in the past when I would have liked to see an event extended for one reason or another but it never happened, we just have to roll with the punches.
I've got 8 toons with 10 transwhatevers, and 4 more with 9. So, yeah, I know that there's still time.
...And yes, I said in the very first post that I know that I don't HAVE to do the grind. You can lead a horse to water, but can't make him drink, blah blah blah (though this thing is about to drive me to drink something other than water). But these limited-time all-or-nothing events definitely serve to strongly compel the player base to play a certain thing in particular, instead of the rest of the game.
MY SOLUTION: Keep the stupid limited time events going if you want & keep rotating them in or out. BUT PLEASE ONLY USE ONE CURRENCY. Qmendations, Crystalline Shards, Interdimensional Transvestites... pick one. That way if you do the event 13 times in 21 days you aren't left with worthless event leftovers and a whole lot of time wasted, just pick up event currency during the next one and get your dillithium & marks reward then.
Why drop the requirements when it would be easier to just increase the rewards? Seriously, if the lower the requirements, they have to change every ME project in progress. That's a logistical nightmare. However, they can increase how many MTD's you get per mission and speed it up that way.
The problem with that is, they want as many of us logged in and playing as possible, as often as possible. So, their incentive is to extend the event so that you keep grinding for a few extra days so that their statistics look good. It's the classic prisoner's dilemma. If they act selfishly, they get the biggest payout. If they act cooperatively, they would only get a medium payout or possibly even a negative payout.

new mirror event manages to be more boring than old mirror, which is quite impressive actually.
they pretty much took a mission that would normally take 4-5 minutes at most with a decent team, and extended it to 3x times that.
its quite obvious they did it to tone down the number of folks getting dil, i wouldn't mind if they had done that, while still making sure the mission was actually fun though(or at least not as repetitive).

The forced time it takes to complete is the biggest complaint I have against the Mirror Event.

Yeah, I remember the night the Cryptic Secret Agents invaded my home and held a phaser to my head and forced me to participate in the MI event...oh, wait, that never happened.
I like the mission and I do it with 6 toons each day. I'm at 12 transporter thingies right now and will be done on thursday.

Whatever, that's fine too. I fail to see how it's any easier or more difficult, in either case, you're just changing a number in the code, it's not like you have to manually change everyone's project. NumRequired = 10 or NumReward = 2... neither was particularly difficult to type.

Personally, I'm not playing any MORE than normal, it's just that all the time I'm playing is devoted to this dumbass event. If anything, I'm playing less, 'cause I'm so burnt out by the time I run 10 or 12 of these that I stop playing regardless of whether or not I have time. And when this ME is over, I'm going to take a decent little break from STO, instead of playing it for months straight when I am just enjoying the game.
Why reduce the requirements? Because you don't like the mission?
Yeah, I thought that part was clear. I want to help make the game more fun. If you like doing it, you can always keep doing it even after you've got the event finsihed and turn in the additional ones for 2k dilithium each. But this is a poorly designed mission, and a poorly designed event, and yes, I'd like them to change it.
I've fought the battle 13 days in a row now and I'm still enjoying fighting it, I'm going to keep playing it every day until the event ends even after I complete the goal requirements tomorrow
I don't know if it's pure coincidence or not, but problems have really intensified during the ME... which is not all that fun an event anyway.
I know you said you were going to extend it, but really... why extend the grind and the problems. Just drop the requirements from 14 trans-whatevers to 10 or something. That would be awesome.
instant gratification? no thanks.
if anything it seems a little too easy. get those free ships in winter in 25 days, so maybe increase the amount next mirror event.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Same here... I quite like giving it to the Terran Empire!
Tonight will be my last night with the event in terms of getting the 14th transport thingy. I am glad that 12 of the 13 nights that I have done it on 4 toons (a total of 48 times) I had friends from the STB channel to it with me but I know most of them said that once their done they are not doing it again.
Myself I'll sneak it in myself as I believe you get like 2k dill after you've collected the main rewards? like yourself I do actually enjoy it and hope it stays.

The method I suggest only requires Cryptic to modify a single game variable. The method you suggest would require Cryptic to modify millions of character saves. How long do you think it would take to modify the millions of rep projects currently in progress?

lmao
I'm fine with the mission. I do it a few times each day on a couple of toons.
Just because you don't want to do it, yet want the rewards of participating, that doesn't mean it NEEDS to be changed.
Simply means you need to better evaluate what you do with your time. Why would you do something you don't enjoy?
50k dilithium isn't really all that much. The Hakeev doff isn't really groundbreaking in its ability. 250 marks is easy to come by.
So don't participate, do something else instead. Maybe write a blog.
I'm exhausted.
It's also frustrating that the old ME, which was a great way to level toons, was replaced with one only available to lvl 50 characters.
Dont like it, dont play it, do something else :P
Yeah, that's a much better solution than giving feedback and try to get a sh*tty part of a pretty good game fixed.
