Lowered video settings one day, now my ship looks funny

My ship, before when it was at standard settings (1 less than fully quality on the basic slider) looked normal. It's white with a red and blue pattern over it. Ever since I put the settings all the way down, my ship has been looking weird and dark. I decided today to up the settings again ((I tried every setting on the basic slider, the picture displays 1 setting above lowest quality because I was tired of playing on low settings) and my ship still looks like that. Everyone else's ship looks fine. And I also have a green trail instead of a red and blue one.

Does anyone have a possible cause and / or suggested fix?

Summary/TLDR:
My ship looks funny since I lowered settings. Raising them back up didn't fix the issue.
Everyone else's ship looks fine

GPU: MSI Twin Frozr 7950
CPU: i5 3570k (not overclocked)

The reason I have low settings is because I have reason to believe my PSU is failing and having high settings will crash my computer in some situations.

    Lol guys you can ignore this. It's a result of my Reman Shield effect. Any way to disable this?

    yes press u go to the ship find the shield right click hide design or what ever the name is
