Ok, here is the deal. The object is to try to make up a new Ferengi rule of acquisition. Here is my first one: "The more charity you give, the poorer you are."

Rule of Acquisition #521: The customer is never right. Just make them believe they are.

Here are my contributions for role play fun:

    >Never pay for something yourself, if others are already willing to pay for you!

    >Always be the first to buy and the last to spend!

    >If it can be sold, its already gold!

    >Never turn down a donation or prize, just never give one!

    >I speak the in language of Latinum, if you do not, we have nothing to say to each other!

You know it's really mean they gave away the Ferengi shuttle. I had to spend 85 million EC to get mine. :( http://luna-devi.deviantart.com/art/Ferengi-Shuttle-442453249

Always show the best, then sell the worst. (Also known as: The Dyson Science Destroyer Principle)

Always be willing to wreck something millions love in order to line your own pockets. (In reference to PWE/Cryptic's treatment of Star Trek)

Sorry, had to be "that guy." I just couldn't stop myself.

Besides. It's not like either are A) untrue or B) any less Ferengi.

If you have to have a sale, then you've already failed.

    Never stick to one buyer.

Latinum is the only certainty in the universe.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Sell to your friends, and if your friends have enemies, sell to them to!
Always accept donations, but never give them
    Latinum is holy.
    Only fools give away Latinum!

    Never rip off a Kllingon.

Employees only job is to work their way up and be exploited so later on they can be the exploiters. (Sadly some companies that I will not mention live by this rule:rolleyes:).

JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

In a recent Literary Challenge, I did invent Rule 14 (because according to Memory Alpha, there wasn't a canon Rule 14 yet):

In any deal, find out who profits most. That's your next target.

-You just have to promise substance at a later date to recieve plenty of money - you rarely have to bother with actually delivering as implied by said promise. (What I've seen with MMOs - they promise an awesome new system/game mechanic/whatever, people buy things in anticipation, and then all they release is some minor TRIBBLE.)

-Nothing's illegal if you don't get caught.

-The next best thing to dealing addictive drugs is dealing addictive game items. Once people are hooked, you'll be swimming in Latinum.

Or, "What doesn't kill you, can still be fleeced and escaped from."

(Related to Maxim 35: "That which does not kill me, has committed a tactical error.")

Come to think on it, there are a few Maxims that would also work as Rules of Acquisition:

The world is richer when you turn enemies into friends, but that's not the same as you being richer.

The enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more. No less.

A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go.

Just because it's easy for you doesn't mean it can't be hard on your clients.
