I have done it a bit more, but I'm still on the fence as to it's merits.
Especially when the Curbstompers show up.......

I am confused by one thing though, I was running around the Outskirts and there's this group of 3 red areas to the left (top corner of the map) across a large gap.
I couldn't find a way across, so wasn't sure what to do then.

As regards teamwork, I didn't see much of that.
Anyone who happened to come across the zones I was trying to take did it by accident.
And even then, I'm uncertain if it's teamwork or just someone out for themselves.
I see that a lot in ground combat, people are only interested in their goal and just ignore the other players.

And given the low number of VCI I have, I'm not likely to want to trade them for Dil, just in case I decide to use them for a ground set someday.
Or some space weapons/consoles from Requisition projects.

Once you play about in each section you will get used to the pathing and the fastest ways to get anywhere. Hit M and look at the map often. But start out mainly in the park until you get used to it, then start working outskirts until you get used to that. last to get used to is city because there are no shortcuts there.

As far as teamwork.. It's optional to even have any. yeah everyone is out there for themselves including you. The way the zones work having a lack of teamwork doesnt make it impossible to do. You can simply follow someone else around and help them cap points or let someone else follow you around.

If you are a tac, look for an engi with the bunker kit and pal around with them, and avoid trying to solo the Omega points. The easiest points to solo for a tac is the artllary ones. kill everything and hit the first buttons, kill teverything that pops up and hit the second, followed by kill everything and the last button. After that keep moving and use cover while taking out the boss that pops up.

The stand here to capture is also soloable by a tac, just have to keep moving and be near cover if you need to duck behind something to heal. Bring a sci and engi BOFF with heals.

If you are a sci use the medic kit and you can solo anything, bunker kit on an engi and solo as well.

As for getting killed easy, watch the ground! when theres a boss at the point watch for mortar fire. When the Voth do mortars they will be deadly. If its the mortars at the stand here to capture points between waves of enemies all that does is knock you down. An engi boff dropping turrets and generators is great for getting the boss Voth's mortars, so they will take some of that fire for you.

You do realize that you only need 41 VCI to get every piece of Dyson set equipment. 20 VCI for the Dyson Space Set, 15 VCI for the Dyson Ground Set, and 6 VCI for the Dyson Weapon/Console Set. Of course, with 100 VCI you can outfit your entire away team with the Dyson Ground set.
    Yes, I did know that.

The generator part is the hardest to solo, for me at least. After activating the second console, i get over run and those damn voth Ops(HA! you thought you killed me didn't you feddy/klink!HAHAHA!) don't make it easy.

Also anyone else annoyed that voth and swarmer come after you across the map? I mean you don't even see them and in most cases they are getting shot at by other npcs, yet still make a b-line to you. ARRGGGG

It's just my observation that nobody really seems to communicate in teams, in space or on the ground.
I will readily respond if asked to do something (assuming the player is not looking to start an argument with me, in which case it's straight to ignore list!).
But the occassions when that has happened are rare indeed.

for example, in over a month of running Spire missions (3 times per day), only 1 time did a player specify a strategy and goals for the team to do.

I'm not sure if having zone chat permanently disabled is a factor in that though.
I got tired of reading pages of inane chat or flamewars, so just leave it switched off now.

Hehe, I've noted that the artillery points are als a bit of an issue to solo. I just can't seem to shut them down fast enough.....

You can also exchange implants for Dilithium.

Be nice if you could convert them to Commendations.

Where do you exchange implants for dilithium?

It's an assignment under the relevant reputation category.

I've never done it because I need every implant I can get my hands on.

The bottom row on the dyson rep panel allows you to hand in implants.

As for the artillery sections, they are dead easy for an engineer. Have two tac officers with you and the bunker kit. Deploy a turret just in range and let it and your two redshirts to aggro the both. Turn off the the gen and then mop up. Rinse and repeat and once you have done it a few times you get the rhythm and off you go. Hope that helps for soloing arty

They only drop with Storming the Spire, not from the Breach.

Also, its rare, but you can get Implants being rewarded with the Reputation boxes.

I'm sitting at 40 VCIs and most of them came from the Breach elite. Last day 2 repu box gave two Implants but this is a rare occasion.
