I have reported this issue several times over the years and no one has been able to help, So here I am try ..... again!
Tech Support has encouraged me to report the following chat error as a serious game play bug
since they currently have no way to assist me. And I have, its almost been a month and still no answer. Keep in mind I have sent a post about this problem several times since beta....
Basically, I can't be invited to a group or PvP match from any type of chat.
When someone right clicks my name in chat and selects "Invite to team" or "Challenge Player",
they get the following error message:
"queue_challenge_name" takes 2 argument(s). or [System] Queue_Challenge_Name <string> <string>"
In the chat dialog, my entire name is highlighted on cursor hover, but it is not being quoted
correctly when the queue invite command is triggered from the right click menu.
The ONLY way for me to be invited is for the other player to actually type
/queue_invite "Character Name@Jason Phoenix"
In actual game, almost no one is willing to take the time to do this. Experienced players use chat channels to quickly team with other powerful players and increase their odds of completing a mission. Since I cannot be invited in chat, I have to go through the standard PvE queue. Four years pugging has really been hell.
I checked with a GM and all of my Social tab settings are correct. The root cause appears to be the space in my
@name, "
@Jason Phoenix".
To solve the issue, I have asked for a possible name change to
@JasonPhoenix,
@JasonTPhoenix, or
@JTPhoenix.
Unfortunately, Tech Support cannot do name changes.
I got this name when I was a beta player and have had this problem ever since beta.
Also I am a lifetime member and I do not have access to the 1000day rewards, in fact in the game I'm still considered a 700 day vet, please advise.....

Sort of agreed, but IMHO they need to fix the code to allow spaces or automatically do a quick iteration over the database to remove the spaces (replace with _ maybe).
But why is this happening all of a sudden? You are not alone, we have a guy in our fleet with the problem. A rename works but there are probably tons of people with the issue.
CRUISERS NEED A 206% HULL BUFF
This is a good suggestion too

Works every time.
Now, both the account creation system and the character creator allow people to make names that the game is clearly incompatible with. Why? Did not thought get put into these systems?
Unfortunately there are a lot of things CSRs say they can't do that they absolutely CAN do. They refuse because they don't want people swamping them with requests for things like name changes -- something they see as frivolous (which aren't always, as in cases like this).
The PWE reps are significantly worse than the Atari reps were. And I know at one time Cryptic had their own CSRs who were much more willing to be helpful but I do not know if they still exist.
