Romulan leveling bugged.

I made a Fed Romulan character, and when I hit subcommander at level 20 and completed my mission the free ship token is for the level 10 centurion ship...I am sure this is because of the extra experience. It is very hard to fight level 20 ships with a level 10 ship.

Did you actually select a new ship when you hit 10/11 or did you use the starter ship all the way up to 20?

If u didnt claim your lower tier free ship, i think you cant stock the tokens lol, so its probably that the game is asking you to claim your level 10 ship. And its probably that you also lost your level 20 token. Thats the reason its important to claim every ship at every level if you going to discard em later. Because you need to "use" 1 token before you reach your next tier or you will not receive another one of your current level. I think, never happened to me as i always claimed my ship but i think that is how it works.

Never got the level 10 token, the first time I received one was at 21...with the XP weekend, I should be 10 right now, but instead I am 20, so I think they didn't plan for this to happen.

Yea, but it sucks for going up against level 20 enemies, but oh well I guess.

It is being buggy today. I hit level 22 before completing the mission arc, then when I got promoted to lvl 10 it just kind of ignored my lvl 20 promotion for a while. I hit level 40 a little while ago and it skipped over that promotion too.

ok, so a friend of mine figured out the bug, at 20 you have to go to the Command Center, go to the Admiral's office, he will then give you a promotion mission, you have to beam back up to your ship, then back down to the command center. You then go and turn it into the admiral, then you can get the new ship...it is a very round about way to get the ship, but at least it works...of course in 3 days it wont matter.

Ok I am stuck....

I am level 43, at ship selection and being told I can only have a D'Deridex and not the normal ship for my rank.

Cryptic how about when you run an event, especially one like this, you take some time away from Twitter, and how to get more money from us, and actually you know... check things? it's called beta testing look it up

Just hit VA 50, tried the above workaround to no success, now can't fly any VA 50 ship nor will it permit my skills which now show up as invalid all the time.

And of course nothing from Cryptic, not even "we know and are looking into it"

Since I didn't see anything being done on here I sent in a ticket to a GM... the reply I got just referred me to the forums...

Ok so she was lvl 10 last night then hit lvl 20 today. She was saying she was at the Romulan Flotilla. I told her when I got my ship I had to go to New Romulous to speak to the the commander just gave me the promotion mission either for the first time or a 2nd time as you need to speak to the ship person below in that shipyard. This should then give you the ship token for your level.

Her options were limited as you only get one ship at lvl 20, shes lvl 24 with a lvl 20 ship doesnt seem that bad. - http://sto.gamepedia.com/Mogai_Heavy_Warbird

Now if anyone has any idea how to fix the shuttle bug let me know because my lvl 50 did all she was supposed to but it still wants her to buy one. lol

Or lets say I sort of trained over my roms tacs boffs skills (yes 2 boffs, one being the stubborn Tovan.) for their Centurion skills. Well my main issue is the stubborn Tovan; I cant trade him for training or discharge him. I am an eng not tac so I cant train him either. Now what am I supposed to do. I wish the boff skill trainer list went side ways like our skills are when you click U in game. I normally read before clicking ok but my game kept lagging server nto responding & other unfun stuff I just wanted to get off line but I should have not been in a hurry.

I’m having the same problem level 22 and a ship behind. I tried the work around that mrgrr10 posted. It doesn’t seem to work for me. I also just noticed after going back to my other toon I leveled up yesterday that her spec is now invalid. She didn’t have the ship leveling problem I had gotten her to 13 before the double xp event. I don’t know why the spec went funny I hadn’t even filled it all out yet I have like 175k unspent.

I did get the level 10 ship as soon as I could but I was 22 by then and I only had a token for the lvl 10 not 20. So I’m guessing it has to do with the game doing the first promotion via quest not xp like somebody else posted. I’m also trying to see if it’s affecting your respect tokens. Since you normally get those with the promotion. I just can’t remember how many I’m supposed to have in the end.

An update what mrggr10 posted did seem to work for me. But it didn’t trigger till I got my 30 promotion. I’m guessing it won’t till you’ve gotten at least 1 promotion though him normally. That’s when it free to start opening up the back log based on your lvl.

I've been having problems with my new romulan too. I also was being given ship tokens for ships 10 levels below my own. It wasn't a problem since I could use the cstore thunderchild instead.

But now I'm 38, and the next story mission is locked. "Cloak and Dagger", minimum level 18, 20 below me but I cannot hail the contact or skip it. I have nothing to do now but level up with patrol missions it seems, and hope that hitting 50 fixes it somehow.

I also had a bizarre bug on the thunderchild that greyed out my copy of hazard emitters, making unusable at ALL times.

Still stuck in the story missions after hitting 50. I guess I don't get to go to the sphere until someone gets this fixed.

I have the same problem with my second klingon toon I started on the exp weekend. I'm at level 20 now and still haven't even received the lvl 10 ship...It's not that big of a problem for me personally, because I'll be using it as a farming toon mostly, but I figure this issue can be quite frustrating for new players (and it's not just a bonus xp weekend issue, also happens when using bonus xp pools or getting xp on other ways than by doing the episodes). I just recently tried to help a new fleet member who told me that he was still flying around in his lvl 1 ship at around lvl 16, told him to get his new ship. Now I know that this was false advice, should've told him that the system was broken (but hey, is that something you want us to tell a new player?

Try to get this malfunction fixed, I'd consider it a major problem which has the potential to alienate potential new players (and...hey..CUSTOMERS! [if that helps anything]) away from the game. Right from the beginning.

Think both my KDF were in the mid 20s before they could claim ships (exp weekend).
Both my rommie toons were broken, got one to level 35 nd could never claim and ship and skill were "invalid"and was unable to even use a retrain on him so deleted him, started another who is now in their 20s and is unable claim a level 20 ship so kinda abandoned that toon to see if it gets fixed or an actual work-around becomes available.
My Feds were okay for the most part, only one toon had "invalid" skills which appeared around level 38 or so was corrected at level 50 with the use of a retrain token.

UPDATE:

For all of you with this issue, with Romulans, have you completed the mission "Bigger Picture"? If not, complete it and see if that helps.

Klingons need to do "Test of Mettle" to get their first ship at 10.

This just happened to my Romulan alt too. I got to lvl 21 and still no damn promotion mission popup for the Admiral at New Romulus. I got my Centurion free ship, but cant get the Subcommander one. Im at a loss what to do about getting the promotion mission. When i go to talk to the Admiral he doesnt offer the mission.

Edit: Fixed! The only way to resolve this is to do another quest and then automatically the promotion mission pops up. One other thing is that sometimes even when sent to New Romulus to see the Centurion, you speak to the Admiral, but it isnt until you walk out of the room again that the green tick comes up over his head, which means he is ready to turn in the mission for you.

Yeah i'm getting a bug too .. i'm not receiving my skills at level up .. neither ground nor space skills

i've actually remade my character a few times just to see if it was a problem my side or if i glitched something but .. nope .. it keeps happening

I'm having this same exact issue. I leveled up a new Romulan character to 24 and have not received any tokens or missions to get a new ship. I tried to go to New Romulus to try the above posted work-around, but apparently it's not open to my toon yet. I checked the flotilla, but nothing there works. I checked my mission log, but don't see a mission named 'Bigger Picture'. Is there another work around I missed?
