aaaand at least they didn't do the same thing the Japanese did with "Godzilla vs Biollante" which was based on a script submitted by a dentist...and the best of the 5,000 that were submitted...I'm so not kidding right now.

from all the movie that i have watched in my life you never every say it cant get much worse that bad movie juju but that vid was petty funny tho
Well so far this looks much better than the last one.
Yeah, but... at this point we haven't really seen any of the parts that ruined the first one.
If the 1998 trailer had left out all the clear shots of Godzilla himself (like this one does*), there would have been almost no indication in the trailer that it was going to be an awful movie, and even with the choppy CGI and goofy design right there in the trailer, a better movie still wouldn't have been ruined by those - the movie's deeper flaws were all a wonderful release-day surprise.
*-I'm not saying they're doing it on purpose to hide another goofy design, hiding the monster is standard monster movie stuff, even for good monsters. But I am saying that... well, if you wanted to hide a goofy design, this is how you'd do it.
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

I hope they use the REAL Godzilla design, not the GINO design. I hated that "reboot".
Also, Godzilla was best in "Gojira", in Japanese with English subtitles.
It is quite true that the original English version was not just dubbed, it was reworked heavily in ways that changed the story. But, that being said, the parts they cut so that they could have Raymond Burr do monologues were mostly boring stuff about ecological damage..... Even so the original story flows better.

Ah, good, then you should watch this: The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms It's the movie that inspired Godzilla. Which was an adaptation of a Ray Bradbury story, and featured special effects done by the legendary Harryhausen.

Pacific Rim is a better movie.

Personal opinion, then.
Bah, the Beast could kill people just by standing near them. Godzilla only makes people mildly sick.

Well towards the end of the trailer you see G's head (before the doors close). And on the full color poster that's out (ANN Trailer and Poster article link), you see G's full back. I'd say they are being true to the post Godzilla 2000 designs.
My girlfriend & I are seriously wanting to see this in the theaters.
Thank you for the time...

There are ways to legitimize Zilla. The fisherman who identified him as Godzilla may have only seen the dorsal spines/plates/things, something that the Godzilla he knew had. So from that misidentification, Zilla was ID'd as Godzilla by the American forces.
Zilla wasn't as aggressive as other known Kaiju, mostly striking out when threatened like most animals. But he did show a level of cunning that seems to be about average for Kaiju as shown by his ambush of the Apache squadron, and identifying who was responsible for destroying the nest.
Now... if we accept that, then Zilla, who has been confirmed as a legit Toho monster, can be explained in the Godzilla universe. And as America's first real encounter with a kaiju... their inexperience is clearly put on display.
As to the new movie... Toho worked a lot closer with the designers on this one to keep Godzilla accurate. At least that's what I heard. So the design should be closer to his 2000 incarnation while adding details to make him look more like a big freakin' dinosaur of 21st Century Hollywood quality.
Translation: I am gonna frickin' see that movie and no one is gonna stop me. ALL HAIL THE KAIJU KING! GODZILLA!!!!!
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Funny to say that Gozilla vs Zilla was the shortest battle he may have ever had. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIcExdpsEcQ

Close, but I believe the actual battle sequence of Bambi Meets Godzilla was shorter. A lot shorter.
