Character Copy Page Temporarily Unavailable [Update: Available again! See last post]

Hi Captains,

In the near future, the character copy page (here) will become temporarily unavailable as we conduct maintenance on it -- the exact date is still TBD, but we expect maintenance to last several weeks, or so. Upon its return, it will work exactly as it does now.

To prepare for the downtime, please transfer any characters over to Tribble that you would like to use for testing when you can.

    Well, thankfully I have at least one character of all three factions on Tribble atm.

    So Tribble itself will be there, but we just won't be able to transfer characters.

    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    Frank realised back then he got a good spectrum of all factions' characters on Tribble and so he has nothing to worry about. And as he has good memory, no need to warn him now. ;)

    Transfer Character is not working for Redshirt.

    The page says it will take up to 2 hours but it has been over 16 and still no character moved to redshirt.

    Note: I had 3 characters there from before when Legacy of Romulus came out but I deleted them so I could copy over 3 new versions of those same characters. Now nothing shows up there, it just sends me to the create character screen.

    Also.. the link provided in this thread does allow transfer to Tribble (just not to Redshirt.. even though it says it does).

    I guess this means the merge of STO's website into arcgames.com is imminent. I'm not particularly thrilled.

    Has the merger with Arcgames meant that character transfer is now for the timescale specified in the OP? Because for some reason I cannot find any way to get my characters to Tribble.

    so quick question how do you transfer a character to tribble now that sto site has moved to arc. http://sto.perfectworld.com/community/tribble-test isnt working now. any suggestions?

    Should just be able to do it through the tribble server itself. That's what I've always done.

    using the account button? nope does the same thing does a redirect to the arc page now. if you have some other way please share it.

    If there is a way to do it, I don't know what it is. Currently any of the normal pages for transfer (even links in the FAQ) take you to a page that just pops an auto re-direction to the ARC page. Basically the STO ARC-site is not really fully working yet and was not really ready for primetime deployment as far as tribble goes. Basically any links to the tribble transfer take you somewhere that redirects you to where you started before you got there

    If risingstar2009 is correct there is a way to transfer characters while inside of the Tribble Server. It might be something to look into - as I did not know about it.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Looking largely at it, most of the major reported bugs tend to be released to live anyways, so personally I think removing the transfer was a logical next step.

    You will not be able to transfer to Tribble until the maintenance is complete, the date of which is not yet determined.

    To get the word out, take a look at this thread: Here's how you get the old STO website back (at least for now)

    And to confirm it: I just copied a couple of my characters over to Tribble with no problems. Time is not yet up it seems.

    It's my pleasure to let you know that the Public Test Server (e.g. Tribble) character copy page is available once again, and can be accessed here: http://www.arcgames.com/en/my/character/copy/sto

    We've also created a Guide entry for this here, and in the not too distant future, it will also be available via the ArcGames "My Account" section.

    Thanks for your patience and understanding as we worked to get this page available again.
