I don't get it; my normal warp speed in my Odyssey is barely over 19, and I had a little over 2 minutes left while only transwarping once.
My route:
1. Start in Pelia Sector, sitting on the border.
2. Go through Gamma Orionis to the Sirius gate.
3. Proceed north all the way into Iota Pavonis; hit all four blocks there and exit on the Eastern side.
4. Proceed south through Regulus, hitting both of the remaining Alpha Centauri blocks on the way to it, heading all the way South into Eta Eridani.
5. Turn East, then slide up into Pi Canis, and cover all three blocks there, ending on the Eastern end.
6. Head north into the sector block above it, doing the same thing, ending on the Western end, then north into the block above that, ending on the East.
7. Transwarp to K-7, exit to sector, then head West into Orelius sector block.
8. Cover both blocks there, then take the exit to Beta Ursae.
9. Head East in Beta Ursae, to the bottom edge of the Eastern-most sector; take that exit South into Alpha Triangulae, then head West to Zeta Andromidae.
10. Cover the four sectors in that block, and you're done.
At Transwarp, I'm doing about 32, but this ship is no speed demon. The keys lie in cutting through the corners of the sector blocks. Also, wait to do the mission until you can have someone slap Diplomatic Immunity, Raiding Party, or both on you.
Thanks to this post for making me realize that I could start in Pelia, I figured out a zero backtrack, zero transwarp route. I've only done it one time so far, and made plenty of mistakes in angles, but managed to get the Tour done with 15 seconds or so to spare. I'm sure that I could get a better result with practice.
1. Start in Pelia at the Gamma Orionis border.
2. Aim for the Sibiran intersection in Gamma, then to the transwarp gate to Sirius.
3. Northwest to Beta Ursae boder in Sirius.
4. Down to Alpha Trianguli in Beta.
5. Due West to the next sector in Alpha, then up into Beta for its middle sector.
6. Immediately back down into Alpha in Beta.
7. Due West again in Alpha to Zeta Andromedae.
8. As close as you can get to the intersection of the 4 sectors in Zeta, then over to the Beta border.
9. Straight North to Orellius.
10. Northeast through Orellius to hit the Eastern border just after you cross into the North sector.
11. Slighltly Northeast through Eta Eridani to Pi Canis.
12. Directly North in Pi to Tau Dewa.
13. East in Tau to next sector over, then down to Pi.
14. East in Pi to the final sector, then up into Tau.
15, Straight up through Tau to Psi Velorum.
16. Northwest through Psi to Alpha Centauri.
17. Slightly Northwest in Alpha, just into the middle sector and to Iota Pavonis.
18. As close as you can get to the intersection of the 4 sectors here and still get them, then South through Bolarus sector to Alpha.
19. Straight down through Alpha to Sirius.
20, Due East in Sirius to Regulus.
21. Straight South in Regulus to finish.
The closest thing to a backtrack here is jumping from the middle of Alpha Trianguli to the middle of Beta Ursae then back, though it still gains you half of a sector if you clip the corner on the first transition. This, or any border seam cutting route, is not a good idea if you regularly have long load times for sector block transitions.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
First people complained that they took away the ability to run the mission multiple times with the same character during the hour event. Now people are complaining about the 15 min time limit... Its designed so you have to put some thought into it now. At least you can do it on all your characters now everyday.
This has always been my favorite event. Finally something thats rewarding, quick, and doesnt require you to shoot anything. I'll admit I like it so much i've maxxed out driver coil skill and put a mk xii [coi][ssr] on my ship for it, so my borg engines start me off at warp 22 without slipstream... I can literally make it through the full tour without transwarping or slipstreaming or space folding...
My route is starting in the
southeast corner of z-6, then
tarod devron bolarus
teneebia sierra vendor
hyralan onias mylasa (at this point i'll tau dewa transwarp or head back to hyralan and go south depending on my mood...
azure nimbus narendra
mempa hromi xarantine
archanis donatu (hook north now)
kassae celes argelius
vulcan orion diagonal to
kalandra bajor cardassia
kora arawath vanden orias
algira almatha dorvan
have to do a 180 in risa to hit aldebaren
deferi
raveh... exit right back to
aldebaren... north this time
transwarp gate in risa
hit the 4 corners of gamma orionis and home free to pelia...
It never takes me more than 11 minutes... and if I'm lazy and slipstream the long bits It's below 10 minutes...

Finally! With engines revamp for transwarp I can now do the whole tour in 14 minutes, using the original path from Sol sector, got the baby up to 28.9 transwarp. Seems advancing far enough in the storylines earns enough good XI and XII items to help traverse the route in a fraction of the time it used to take (17-22 mins).
So.....I am no longer miffed about the nerfs. But for new players it will be a much steeper challenge to complete the event at the ranks/levels I was at when I first completed it in under the hour allotment.
