Just tried out a few times (I already did it months ago with another character), looks like it's bugged:

1) The lance weapons that oneshot you from the two gigantic borgs have a reach of fore than 25 km ... (is that intended????)

2) I was pulverised several time from one of those shot, WHILE I was under the "under the guns" buff. Meaning I was within 5km from the queen, had the buff displayed, stil got shot dead.

By the way, did you devs scale up the event, I tried it a few time with different random people who looked to be fairly well equipped, not once we made it past the two huge ships...

There's an issue with that lance that the large vessels fire , i got shot from a very very far distance almost where you respawn which is way far from the 10km attack range , and they kept firing even with that under the guns protection near the queen.

    Working as intended.

Here's a clue... this is a mission where debuffs matter. Tykens Rift and Aceton Beam are your friend here.

But yeah, people are gonna get 1-shotted by the thing... just get used to it.

There is a charge up period before the lance fires. If neither ship have their lance ready as you approach and you get under the guns you are safe from it. But if they target you with the ability before you have the buff you will still be hit when it finishes charging.

The real problem is that many common ship builds can also be one shot by the torpedo spread these ships launch. Being under the guns will not protect you from that.

You can still two man this mission if you have some one with enough threat control and some one else who can take the spread.

The person with threat control just has to to remain outside the range of the two ships. If they are threatening enough the probes and other ships that spawn will move to engage them rather then staying within healing range of the boss ships. These ships should not be destroyed so that they do not respawn.

The second player just needs to use cloak to get under the guns. Then position themselves so that the queen obscures the line of fire from the other boss ship. Sat in position there they can happily pound away on a ship that isn't receiving hazard emitters. personally I used an avenger for this, but there are many other options that would work, just so long as you can take the hit from the torpedo spread you should be fine.

This simply is not true. I de-cloak touching the queen ship and instantly get lanced. And I do mean instantly. NO charge up time whatsoever. I also got lanced immediately after re-spawning once as well. Before I could even get my cloak up. instantly. It is broken.

I also should not be receiving a 1 hour cool-down for leaving when 3 other players left before me. That is just ridiculous. I agree with cool-downs in general, but you need to make exceptions when other teammates abandon a co-op map. Sure some great players can 2 or 3 man some maps, but in general for pugs it is unreasonable to expect players to continue on elite maps without a full team.

Just to be clear, I used to do this map all the time back in a stealth b'rel before legacy of Romulus came out, so It's not like I'm a noob.

When did you first find this was broken. I last did HOE maybe a week before my post, the 'under the guns' buff was working and the lances were charging up before firing.

We did this as a fleet run a couple weeks ago. Mainly because our newer players weren't able to complete it in a pug. Our strat was only, don't engage everything in stage 1. Stage 2 kill the left ultramatrix and then the right one. Stage 3 kill the queen. lol Not exactly an optimal strategy. But we finished it and i believe got all the optionals. Although i didn't bother to even check if we did get all the optionals. Hardest part was phase 2 as the lances were always 1 shot kills. No special sci debuffs were used as some strats suggest. Now if you're thinking that maybe we were a high dps group you would be wrong.

This is the most problematic STF in the game and one i always avoid pugging as i've never been able to complete this in a pug. Lances killing people as far away as the respawn point while hilarious is downright TRIBBLE. There needs to be at least a max range for that ability. And it seems that no matter where i position myself the lances will always hit me. But perhaps my position is incorrect or just not quite good enough. The other abilities against me i can live with.

I say fix the lance range at a minimum. Although retuning it would be a relief as well. Otherwise it's just an STF that most all avoid. And if people avoid it then you know something is wrong. So this clearly needs to be looked into.

Still never did this stf, but i tell you, anything thats oneshots you, it is broken. Meaning, it just drops the playability of the game exponentially. One could think that it is logical borg weapons can deal a lot of damage. But killing ships in 1 single hit, that is a no no in any game. I am not saying this is intended, knowing cryptic it is, but this only rest interest for this missions. Unfortunately. And if they can oneshot you from light years away.. that is bad.. really bad lol. At least now i know these things, so i will probably never try this stf in my life (yeah, i will missing some maco mk xii items, but bleh.. ).

Ive done it 4 times in last 3 months, all pugs. First 3 were before Season 8.5 , last one after.

Before hand yes, the lance could one shot you, yes it was hard, but it was doable.

Since 8.5 it was crazy, im surprised the team i was with stayed till the end, we were all getting one shotted all the time but managed to complete it in the end.

Using cloak to get to queen etc, still one shotted by lance many times.
