Image manipulation/caption and wallpaper contest - various prizes

The drawing contest was fun and it was a pleasure to see the appreciation for something like this. It can be viewed here if anyone is interested http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=958591 However, it was relatively not easy to enter - not everyone can draw - or be assured enough in own abilities to post the result... Also I thought about a few other interesting things to do anyway. So, the new contest is about image manipulation, though own drawing parts are welcome.

You can create any image modification based on Star Trek - a wallpaper, a (de)motivator, a captioned image, etc.(just what I could think of within this idea, additional suggestions are welcome) on the current round's topic and post it somewhere available to people to spread the love for Star Trek :cool:

Please don't forget to tag it to make it easy to find. A wallpaper may be in place somewhere on Deviantart or any wallpaper storage, a (de)motivator or captioned image - on cheezburger or somewhere like that. Some things like that are already there and can work as examples.

The prizes this time will be given as the contest goes and not in places, but individually - turned out to be a problem to find the winners after so much time anew, and I often can't choose just one winner anyway, so I'll just hand out prizes along the way :) Might be not immediate though,I don't have a 24/7 presence. The prizes include very various things - master keys, consoles, costumes, various pets, tribbles (well, blue and purple ones at least), specific ones are going to depend on the quality, effort, sense of humor (if applicable to that entry), etc. - also might use some randomizer to an extent, especially with multiple similar quality prizes. If you're getting a prize you specifically dislike, just say so, I may have options.

The topic #1 is the young Romulan Republic and the people who helped it to rise, this can be taken not stricly, something related to the old Romulan Empire or to non-Romulans related in some way may be acceptable. Might well be about Romulan Ale :) The deadline is two weeks from now - the 16th of February. Please mail me - @effaeldm - or otherwise inform about your in-game handles.

Current topic (#2): Space-based wallpapers Deadline already far behind, but people still post images, so I accept them. Will probably give a new topic sometime next week.

    I'm way ahead of you, and already have something for New Romulus. Aside from CatStar, I also have another cast of cats that serve aboard the USS Kittyprize. James T Cat, my lolcat parodie of the TOS era. In this log, is records of the Kittyprize crews assistance of the New Romulus efforts.

    ...and why they where ultimately banned from New Romulus, forcing me to use 009Lives for that one Foundry review there.

    Haven't you been hanging out in the wormhole with the Prophets recently? :) I guess this hardly qualifies as an image to really be an image contest entry - and I'll be glad to see something of that kind yet, but you were pretty close with the topic :) Sent you a (yu) tribble anyway. If you don't want a tribble, tell me, open to discussion.

    Interesting logs - and glad to hear you do Foundry reviews, the non-grind Foundry parts need more love :)

    CatStar, thanks for one closer to the topic - and glad to see more original art :) One cat is you character from what I understand - and who is the other?

    Budo, an amusing thought :) That part of the game content does tend to look like that :D

    Sent your prizes, hopefully didn't mess up anything, please inform me if there are any problems.

    And I'd like to mention there's time yet to submit more entries, multiple ones from the same person are certainly accepted.

    Now it looks like everyone's posted the contest entries and I've already sent out the prizes - please inform me if there were any problems.


    If anyone is curious about the results: CatStar linked an already existant story of his (not with images then though) and then drew an image as an illustration, Budoshin posted the Voth dil game image, Bejalpren posted the negotiations with Romulans image. The prizes were correspondingly a blue tribble + a non-combat pet (non-image entry and image added), a weapons pack and a console pack. ALso I'd like to give blue tribbles to Idrona and Jmaster for their way of participation.


    The new tour: this one is a bit more narrow image manipulation - the topic is about STO space-based wallpapers, be it ships, nebulae, compositions collaged together or adjusted in graphics editors. You may draw from scratch if you wish though, particularly if the image remain recognizable as Star Trek relevant. And anyway you may likely notice I'm not really strict on rules... Also preferably post to somewhere people will be able to find and access those in the future, like DeviantArt. The deadline is around two weeks from now, the 7th of March.

    I hope rules are really relaxed, since it's space themed only because its in the mess hall of IKS S'vashni, not to mention it would fit as a wallpaper only on e-book readers, but what the hell ;)

    What kind of screen resolutions are you looking for?

    1280 X 800 ?

    Not sure, I have more than enough prize material I think, but if you'd like to, you may send whatever you like - or perhaps better you can give those things to the entries you like yourself as extra prizes :) I far don't consider myself a fair judge, and my online presence is not always good, though I try to be here for the contest fairly often- and I think people can use extra prizes.

    Any. Larger is good in the regard that decreasing the size is easier than vice versa, but whatever is entered into the contest and remotely fits the topic, or even not really, may win something.

    I'm glad you like it, thanks :) And you were close, pic was from two games later, Skyrim :)

    Yes, @rakshathekhajiit is my handle, full handle of my character is Ra'isha@rakshathekhajiit (in case you need it, not sure how all of this works, I'm new to STO).
