    Two questions about quick equip:

    1. If we're pulling an item from somewhere to replace an already equipped item, where does that already equipped item go?

    2. Can quick equip be made to include c-store ship consoles/items too?
IE so that we don't have to commission and decommission a ship to get the console/item, just have them available in quick equip menu for easy no fuss accessibility.

I tooled around with it some on Tribble last night. Awesome system. I thought it was very easy to use and will make Starship swapping much less of a pain in the rear.

Also to the couple of posts regarding social zones, I can barely read cries for assistance before they're drowned out in ignorant and illogical babble about politics, half a bowl in philosophy, or whose countries are better. and that is if it isn't at a dead social zone. Maybe if Cryptic had the funds to moderate it fast it would be worth doing, but as is? Bah.

    NO, NO, NO, NO, NO...

Loadouts will (randomly) place items back into your INVENTORY when you switch out of a loadout???

So, these will wind up being added to the TOP of my inventory? Right there with all the loot?

NO THANK YOU, I'm fine without, thanks, uh-uh, no.

Unless and until you let us mark items we own as "DO NOT SELL" (or some other sensible system of keeping us from ever selling off these items, like a loadout inventory/bag these items come from and go to) I will **NEVER** use this system. Nooooope.

I am looking forward to pages upon pages of hate and flame here on the forums of people selling off their loadout items from their inventory. Yeeeeah....

    Such a passionate reaction.

Clearly it is too much of a hassle to stop for a couple of seconds and check what you're about to sell. Also there's buyback.

But in any case use of the system is not mandatory, and nothing will change for those that choose not to use it. So I really don't see the point for the outburst.

It's a nice and useful system that's just coming out and I'm sure there will be plenty of time and opportunity to refine it through experience and player feedback.

I have, my own self, protested vehemently against this 'dumping to inventory' thingy, as it spells disaster all over the place. Like, who has 22 free inventory slots for a (potentially) full unload? (And that for each and every ship you own) And what about the mess of retrieving stuff from your Overflow bag things apparently get unloaded to? (Seeing as your inventory is already full).

The postponement of the loadout system has caused me to believe, though, that maybe they're reconsidering the ramifications of the way they had initially planned this, and that a better solution will present itself.

It's not really that hard to address that particular issue. The simplest way to do that is to make it so the items that are currently equipped on your ship swap places with the items you're equipping through the loadout system, wherever they may be (inventory, bank or another ship).

After all, they'll be trading places with items that go in the exact same slot, so I cannot see why that wouldn't be possible.

Why wouldnt they go into your inventory it's not as if they can go into cyber space.
And if you were paying attention you would not sell anything that you know goes on another ship. But if you just sell everything without checking. well your the only one to blame

No offense, but your glaring inability to comprehend the issue here is downright staggering.

For one, what are you on about (if even to refute it), selling stuff that was offloaded from your ship into inventory and being to blame and all that jazz?! Most all of it is 'Bound On Equip/Bound To Character,' so yeah, good luck accidentally selling off that gear. And if you manage, please, do share, as I have some Crescent Wave cannons to sell. :P

But back to the thing you're uncomprehending on most poignantly. Inventory is not an unlimited resource. In fact, it's very limited -- even when you purchased more (max) slots. Potentially you could unload 22 items for a loadout swtch. Do you have that many slots free?! I certainly don't. And that times ALL ships you have. Naturally there will be overlap; but do you have room to unload even 2 x 22 items to your inventory? I thought not.

Then there's the disaster of the Overflow bag. With your inventory already full (or the Overflow bag wouldn't have been used), pray-tell, how are you going to retrieve all those 22 items? Painstakingly, 1 by 1, and putting them on various ship, manually. Yeah, no.
Why wouldnt they go into your inventory it's not as if they can go into cyber space.

Preferably, they are stored within the loadouts themselves, per ship, on an alternating basis (load loadout nr 1, and offload into loudout nr. 2). After all, your ship inventory (as the name suggests) is a type of inventory already. This will (may) not work for when you're pulling stuff off other ships (the other ship you want to put the item back on may not meet class requirements). So the devs will need to find another solution for that.

Short of giving us 'max ships x 22' free extra inventory slots, which they'll never do, of course, one makeshift solution I'd be okay with is: when an item can't be offloaded (either to inventory or to another ship) then simply... don't. And maybe put an exclamation mark over the ship item that could not be loaded or something. But, by the goddess, please don't try and dump them into the Overflow bag! (Where they will be inaccessible to both you and the loadout system itself to boot).
