    With or on? Lol.

Still it's funny seeing people posting in the beams needs a boost post and people requesting heavy beam arrays for cruisers only.

For me personally I see all this as a problem, if it means everything else need not exist then yeah it's a problem. Funny thing though.

I saw in the 11k channel they were saying 100k dips is just not needed and there's no point for that channel. I then asked at what point they had enough dps. The answer? There's never enough, always want more. Meh, I'll probably leave this game for something more fun that has a clue what it wants to do. Might take my friend up on the offer of guild wars 2, anyone tried it?

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

Friend of mine was talking star citizen. It actually looks interesting but it unhinges me to leave all my grindy work behind here. I've decided to give the dev team here one more season(shot) at tailoring this game.

Been patient for years but if I have to swallow one more lame sauce addition like dinos with laser faces, I may end up with an aneurysm.
May good management be with you.

Eh, just play both. A little here, a little there. I plan to do that. STO is being designed more and more for casual play, anyways.

Go back in time say 40 days ago. No threads crying to Nerf beams or A2B.
Then a well know PVE fleet that honned their ships to maximize DPS for STF's decided to jump into the PVP queues.
They were very successful. But they were using skills/builds/abilities that were not the status quo.
PVP premades got mad because they were not playing the "Right" way.
Then numerious other teams caught on and started duplicating the PVE fleets builds.
Now we have thread after thread of posts crying for a Nerf because some players found a good build and learned how to use it. Just because you feel like your ship/gear/build should be the best in the game and if something beats you then it "must be broken" does not make it true.
What that flkeet was using had been in the game for a long time. Only due to them crashing the PVP party has this now turned into an "issue for the Devs to look at"

    You're assumptions are wrong.

I've been pointing out how out of whack Aux2batt is for about a year now. You can sift through DDIS ship build thread for Cruiser Aux2batt builds that are a year or more old. I even posted some aux2batt builds there and KDF sub forums. I've put some lolz Sci Brel and Rommy Sci aux2batt builds out there just so people could see how it's not restricted to boosting cruisers and destoyers.

I posted how lolz OP plas leech since it basically came out (about 2 years now). I also pointed out it was by far the gain potential and not the drain that was the issue. It took feds getting it and seeing for themselves to get the point across to some. People complain more about what directly effects them more than what boosts others, which is why Sci powercreep tends to get hit w/nerfs hardest and dps/self repair power creep goes unphased.

In general myself and others have pointed out the problems of paying for power for years now. Which imo, is the root cause of all of this.

Just b/c something is new to you doesn't mean others haven't seen it or done it. Just b/c someone points out a problem doesn't mean they're pissed they've died to it, some just care about some sense of game balance. It may be they just want a game they feel is fun and fair to all.

The problem with such threads...posts in general...is they lack the melodramatic flare that gets those other threads/posts noticed. Nobody remembers them (heck, even the poster themselves might forget they posted it as they post it again at some point later as if they were posting it for the first time)...

...or they get lumped in with the butthurt posts and are ignored in the same manner.

People that want balance suck! They want to ruin everybody's fun at being Kirk for 15 minutes before the next version of Kirk comes along! They're just mean folks...I tell you what. :P

You don't get the point of this post. First of all, those pve guys wasn't the first, dental has been doing the same for a long time ago, but they were only them, now everyone is using this. I been using the aux2bat builds for over 6 months before those pve came out into the pvp queques, but it was just me, no and entire team of it.

PvP Premades can still win vs bfaw teams, no big deal. The problem is the dailiy pvp, everyone running this builds makes the queque incredible boring, and removes all the teamwork factor that u may get in a pug match.

The old drain mechanic was what kept things in check before.

Escorts that dedicated all there engi console slots to EPS units did more dmg... and where more squish. Ditto for cruisers... you couldn't have hard hitting weapons as well as 4 armour units... and now 4 armour units and 2 turn consoles. ;)

The old mechanic did NOT return weapon power at the end of a cycle... you had to regen it at eps rate.

For the game to become balanced again honestly.... That mechanic needs to come back... and to follow that... the benifit from EPS in the skill tree needs to be halved.

Force people to slot a couple EPS units if they are going to insist on running and trying to keep 7-8 energy draining weapons going. There used to be a trade for doing that. With the old mechanics there used to be a point where a 4th dhc would in fact reduce your overall dps if you didn't dedicate 3 console slots to eps units....

Bring that back and the guy doing 1.3 mil dmg in the first 10min of a match with faw will be fine... cause that person will have next to no armour at least they will be squishier.

Exactly this....there is no thought to consoles anymore....its RCS + res, Neut + turn, and vuln locators/embassy plasma procs.

Boring as hell and TRIBBLE poor design on Geko's part. A2B to0 stronk with weapon resistance+leech+dulmer.

PVP largely a joke, and will be even more so if FAW is critting again. You already cant run targetable projectiles in PVP, negating a whole class of mines and torps.

    dumb.

Agreed. Absolutely 100 percent agreed. Gods forbid that there's something out there that's capable of out dps-ing an escort, even if it takes a little work to get going properly. And its not like this is a huge problem. I haven't seen this in person in the 2 years I've been playing. This must be a friend of the guy who wants tactical team changed to benefit escorts and leave cruisers more vulnerable than they are now.
True that. Cruisers behave like they should, the tanks of the battlefield, and the last time I checked no one survives getting shot by a tank's main gun. Even science backs me up. A continuing energy beam (beam arrays) would be more harmful to a target than a short burst of said energy (cannons). An escort is just that, an escort. It's not meant to take a lot of punishment. The ideal escort pilot should hang around 5 km behind the cruisers, let the enemy team engage them first, then buff up and unleash all hell. Romulans are especially good at this.

That can be turned upside-down with a single console: Console - Universal - Reactive Antiproton Cascade Emitter

+100 all resistance/+50% reduced shield damage/200% energy weapon damage reflection

You sir, just got out DPS'd. To quote a famous quote: "Stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself."
Your Isokinetic Cannon deals 150902 (37320) Kinetic Damage(Critical) to Vonph Battleship.

It's so dissapointing how majority of people in this game are having a single clue how things work in this game, and then they come and complain about random stuff.

It's like saying that I'm witch because I get light to show on my flashlight when I obviously use batteries..

Let me correct the OP and other people, it has nothing to do with beams, and it has nothing to do with auxilliary to battery skill. ALL WEAPONS benefit from over 125 weapon power, this is also the case with auxilliary based vesta dual heavy cannons, but it works with overcapped aux. It has nothing to do with the weapon power, it's all about power transfer rate, aka EPS drags X amount of power from overcapped value and adds it to lost power, this is happens when any kind of energy drain occurs, but because weapons apply different kind of drain, you need the overcapping value to start regenerating your power back to your systems, why beams benefit most from it because they have longest duration to fire of all the weapon types, which is 4 seconds, turrets have 2 seconds duration so they have 2 seconds time to gain extra DPS from overcapping, aka weapon power or EPS, improve your power transfer rate to improve overcapping value, improve weapon power to allow your EPS to drain from your extra weapon power and add it into your systems, please people shut up, you don't know anything.

AND its not glitch or bug, its a mechanic and its working properly! just because nobody has told this to you doesnt mean it doesnt exist or it shouldnt exist, go make your single cannon turret cruiser, overcap it and compare it to non-overcapped version, then come back to me and tell me how overcapping really works, because you dont know.
