...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Personally not a fan of him being in a 2409 uniform, but gotta change with the centuries, I guess.
When I compare them - I get more nostalgic when I see the old one. But I guess this was necessery. Although I hoped it would look more like oddysey uniform.
Everybody and a flock of sheep outrank Tuvok. This is STO, after all
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^
"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
The only reason that the so called relaxing of the uniform code exists is to allow us as players to dress our characters and BOFF's however we like as far as a game goes. If the STO universe were a TV Show it wouldn't work that way unless it was a temporal incursion of some kind. You might see different uniforms but only in the sense of a transition from an old uniform to a new one as was done in ST: Generations.
I can live with players having nonsense uniform choices, but when it comes to the NPC's I expect a level of immersion to allow me to feel like I am playing in the Star Trek Universe in 2409. As for Branflakes statement that as far as he knows it was for promotion of the upcoming FE, I can buy that. However it still leaves me a little worried that its not going to be changed for the FE in time.
As for appropriate uniforms for 2409, I like Sierra 1 as the standard uniform for the federation. The Odyssey uniform is a great uniform, I use it often but I think its a little too formal. I also think the odyssey uniform fits a more exploration driven federation not a military based federation. Its kind of like the odyssey is like the TOS uniform in that regard and the Sierra 1 uniform is more like the WoK uniform (when the federation was in much of a more military based lean at least thats how i read it from ST: The Undiscovered Country).
As for the FE, I actually hope they fix the voyager bridge and use a true replica of that bridge not the horrendous monstrosity STO passes of as the intrepid class bridges that they sell to us.
Disturbing similarity to 200 day veteran reward, aside from the shoulder and chest pieces, which colour normally cannot be changed to anything other than gold.
Will this be sold in the C-Store? If so then it's kind of unfair to 200 day vets.
Just to clue in the woefully unobservant, the promotional Admiral Tuvok was actually only wearing a DS9 upper, but a Starfleet Academy lower & Starfleet Academy boots, not actually a full Voyager-era uniform. Including the new combadge, more than half of his uniform was from the 25th century. So there.

Reasons. Enough said lol.
Looks great though
wat clothing options including color options were used in that pic
I want my captian uniform to look like it XD
That Belt! Give It To Us!
The jacket appears to be a version of the Veteran jacket, without the gold trim.
The belt is new, and is not currently available to anyone (except Tuvok, apparently!).

Not bad.
The belt looks like the one that comes with the long-jacket version of the Odyssey uniform.
Brandon, when will we be getting the Odyssey Long-jacket, belt, and communicator?
Commander, Starfleet Corps of Engineers • 7th Fleet
Commanding Officer, U.S.S. HEART OF OAK • NX-1759-B • Odyssey class Star Cruiser ( Lexington Tactical Configuration))
(Steam - feel free to follow/friend me : )
I outrank Tuvok.
Awesome. :P
You know this is very backwards when it comes to the combadge.

Meh. So it seems there are no plans whatsoever to bring any kind of logic into the mess of uniforms we have

I tend to think of the Jupiter uniforms as the standard for 2409. That said, I like the look of the uniform Admiral Tuvok is sporting. Works for me!

But selling the Chimera, yeah I'm ok with that :P
