It's not out of the question for the future, but this revamp of the space combat experience players face against the Undine was not for an Undine Lock Box -- it's for, dare I say, [REDACTED]
Season 9 advances the story into 2410, with an excursion into the DQ to get them to stop picking on the AQ so much and forming an alliance of convenience against the Iconians?

getting to used refurbished bioships that undine crew control half biologically is about as silly as putting borg cubes in lockboxes. these 2 things i hope never apear in lockbox form.
its obvious this npc group will have something to do with the anniversary, and you see a yellow plasma torp impact a voth ship in one of those rep cutscenes. looks like the undine are messing with everyone in the galaxy, not just the alpha quadrant. after the iconions provoked them and caused them to start lashing out. yay for story advancement finnaly
Maybe it's finally time for the hirogen lockbox. I am expecting that particular one since LoR.
There are rumours in the test server forums about a Hirogen lockbox (has something to do this the nimbus pirate distress call "hirogen ship" being replaced with a orion ship).
And with all the delta quadrant stuff we can assume that the next species will be delta quadrant related, and IMHO the hirogen have best chances getting squeezed into the box (must be Timelord Technology, ...it's bigger on the inside).
Other possibilitys of a delta quadrant themed lockbox with canon ships (while voyager had some pretty cool ships in it, not many races had at least 2 types of captial ships shown on screen):
-Krenim
-Trabe/Kazon (even the borg despised the latter ones as unworthy, and they are deemed the most disliked race from Voyager, i'm sure a Kazon themed Box would be a total non-seller)
-Lokirrim/Akriterian (same CGI, nothing spectacular)
-Malon (uhm.... i am sure the malon are a slightly bigger threat than ...cuba)
-Species 8472 (they are not in the next lockbox, but i am totally sure we will see them again)
-and .... the Borg (the Dev's stated "no playable borg ships" a while ago, as far as I'm concerned:it can stay that way).
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...
But having either of those ships makes more sense then having the Iconian ship or the Voth ship. We already broke that bar with those :P
At least Voth ships and the Solanae carrier are ships in "our" sense of the term.
A Borg Cube is operated by a collective crew, not by a crew like "we" use it.
And an Undine ship exists in symbiosis with its pilot.
That's why Borg and Undine ships for players are bad ideas.
It will be something i think based from voyagers encounters as they seem to want to go more into the delta quadrant lately. Maybe a kazon box if their is a FE or season about them, or maybe the kremin, heck they might do neelixs ship to be like the trader ships we have ingame atm with part of a duty officer pack (called it incase no one has yet lol). What i would find interesting is some sort of ship from the Swarm episode where maybe their are small swarm ships as a new shuttle to get in a lock box, a heavy swarm fighter as the medium one to get and then a cruiser maybe type of swarm ship where we get also some awesome swarm powers/fighters where it will create for a set time or maybe just normal fighters but in large numbers but really weak but in the largest numbers of fighters controllable we have seen yet in the game. That might be kinda cool.
Honestly, we already know one reason (probably not a sufficient reason on its lonesome, but it helps contribute) why it would be done - two missions featuring space battles against the Undine are being overhauled for 8.5.
It's hirogen lockbox now everybody shut up, it comes with tetryon burn weapons, new doffs ofc, hirogen battlecruiser and escort, also we are getting second deflector to sci ships, and new episodes
Say the word, it saves the world. CUUCUUMBEER!"-With slight partigen with it." Proud member or DPS-800"-We kill dem mines with our scitter turrets."

And the temporal ships travel through time and have super 29th century tech that one-shots Tholian dreadnoughts...oh wait they don't.
All the lockbox ships are gutted so they're functionally normal ships just like everything else.
I like that the Undine are getting some love, not so fond of the idea of a lockbox ship. Just entertaining the idea bought one thought to mind. Wouldn't the crew find it a bit gooey in there?
I concur with the esteemed poster above. With the focus squarely being on Delta it makes sense the next ship would be from the local residents.
hirogen doesnt make any sense, they are nomadic wonderlusting for prey in their monotanium thick ships. they would never serve another group let alone give up their ships considering how few of them exist in the galaxy. one specific hirogen said it best that their race is coming to its extinction because of the hunt and if they dont change the hirogen will die out, the ever reckless janeway gave the hirogen holographic tech and ultimately twisted the intent. with sela giving access to romulan space for the hirogen to hunt in, that doesnt even appear to be an alliance but rather a reason to have some chaos be made, perhaps ordered by the iconian taskmasters.
8472 would never surrender themselves or their tech, xenophobic isolationists that want fluidic space for themselves and each ship had a single pilot and the ship itself was completely biological and alive but completely inactive of higher functions. there were no devices that would indicate how to operate the ship until it was deciphered and then understand the console and it's likely and completely keyed to 8472 dna alone, or it's telepathic signal or both. whatever, if players got a hold of the ship from a lock box i doubt you could get more then the captain on the ship at most with a pile of supplies and a small bunk if the canon ship design is any indication of what 8472 ships look like. it would be best to forget 8472 ships because thats very risky trying to get it as one of those t5 ships and it would be completely underwhelming as a LT grade ship.
in addition there is a canon 8472 ship missing from that group.
always wanted a kazon raider :P.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Because Tholian, Jem'hadar, Time ships, Elachi, Tal Shiar, Voth makes sense?
Whatever reason they come up with, most likely stolen or captured, you can't claim it does not make sense as a reason when almost nothing that went before it made any sense either.
We are eventually going to get all of these ships, with maybe one or two exceptions. it's really just a matter of the order they turn up in.

And to say you didn't mean now is like saying the world is going to end. Oh it will end one day, but I won't get an exact date

It's a fake?

Or, possibly, organic-tech hybrid ships?
We're getting omega molecules? Score!

Hit by an actual D'deridex as it struggled (and failed) to turn to avoid them on the space highway.
That poor ship had to have the gunk cleaned out of the ramscoops for weeks.
