I think it would be pretty cool if you could get Miral Paris as a unique Bridge Officer after you complete the mission Past Imperfect. As a Security officer she would be a Tactical candidate and as a Human/Klingon hybrid she would have Leadership and Honorable as traits.
I think they want to keep her available for future story lines, so I doubt this is ever gonna be an option. I highly doubt they would ever make any canon character available in this way.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.
lol Are you serious? It's not safe for her to be on my ship, I'll shove her out the airlock.
She's the most annoying character in STO, constanly stood in front of my sniper rifle aim on Regulus. I was glad when it was over.
Then again in "Past Imperfect". I risk my head and my crew, risk messing up the timeline to travel in time and rescue her and what does she do? Doesn't even say thanks, she says - if this helps the Klingons I'm willing to do it! And then she beams up to MY ship by herslef without saying another word. And me and my Boffs are left on the Klingon ship scratching our heads and wondering WTF just happened?
Most annoying character in STO ever (more than Tasha Yar even!), you my friend must have nerves of steel to want her on your bridge. :P
Personally I don't need Miral Paris. Frankly she's already apart of another crew and she's fine where she is.

Personally, I'm not a fan of all of the connections with the previous shows, all of the second and third cousins/nephews and people who a character babysat for before their academy days. I think the story can be told without grasping onto such things. That said, at least Miral makes some sense, but I don't think she needs a role more than what she has already.
I'll support this, but only if Cryptic removes the multiplayer option to the game.
really!? This is a MMO. why are you here? nobody is forcing you to play the multi-player part of this game and it is not even a option, so why ask this?

that was sarcasm and you got the wrong end of that stick btw.
miral paris?... oh her. the one from the kirk, so shes the most annoying huh? hahaha. tovan khev eat that!
EPIC FAIL
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Agreed. There's far too much touchstoning in this game. Same with the trek novels. But most fans seem to love it for some reason. I'd rather have fresh stories with fresh characters. Tng had maybe 5 episodes that touchstoned tos. A very small percentage of overall episodes.
After how she acted after I risked my crew and myself to rescue her. I don't want her as a choice. Unless they correct her attitude with the new Fed missions. Then I might reconsider.

True but consider the audience. Star Trek then had to sell itself on a weekly serialized format that couldn't expect people to have necessarily tuned in last week, let alone last series. New story lines, though having a good effect on the development of the franchise, were essential simply for how the shows were consumed.
STO on the other hand can take advantage of the fact that people can easily watch the entire run of ST on Netflix or Amazon, or simply look up a wiki for all the information they might not at first have. Its more likely a reference is going to pay off now, for this game, (see. the Voth) than any reference would have for the shows when they aired.
However, that isn't argue "cryptic, give us nothing but fan service!" but to point out that what we have in STO now is likely just a reflection of its status as "modern game following the conclusion of a long-running TV series" rather than clearly objectionable pandering.
Bipedal mammal and senior Foundry author.
Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!

Some tie in is okay but when we have:
Thomas Rikers son, Joshua
Sulu's great grandson
Cyrano Jones ancestor
Harry Mudd's ancestor
"Smiley" Obrien's son, James
D'Vak (Alexander Rozhenko's son)
Characters that were on the show:
Natima Lang
Kirayoshi O'Brien
Icheb
Naomi Wildman
Q's son (for a little bit more than a heartbeat, an episode)
Q's son (for a little bit more than a heartbeat, an episode)
Leonard James Akaar (for a heartbeat)
Miral Paris (for a heartbeat)
And God knows who else. Theres just TOO much.
We also have Alexander himself and even get to kill Kurn. Then there would be Sela and Donatra and D'Tan and Worf and... Well lot of others...
To the op: if you really want Miral Paris you can have her. Pick a female alien rename her to "miral Paris" and costumize her to look like miral Paris..,,
Anyways, Star Trek always touches on stuff that's been done before, just as a frame of reference... It makes it easier for the audience to relate to the story.

And theres many more not even yet mention. It would be an understatement to say the STO has worn out the tie ins to canon characters bit. Having Worf and Sela and other major players is one thing, but it has gotten ridiculous.
