Dear Cryptic team, is there any way we can do something about these goldfarmers spamming our ingame email accounts?
I have the filter set to friends and fleet, yet it still manages to get through. And when I check the setting, for some reason it's off. So is there a way to keep it turned on?
I actually have no idea how people are getting spammed with it? What is making your accounts targetable?
I've not received a single spam message since F2P.
Heh you are fortunate. Seems this winter they were (or still) out in force. Which I haven't see them this aggressive since, well F2P like you.
I've gotten a couple of spam mail sent by them, and by the time the mail was sent, it appears I was zoning into Winter Wonderland, so they obviously are camping these spots and waiting for someone to target. Unfortunately, seems their filter is bugged, because I have it on and I still get them.
Would rant about PWE cracking down on them, but seems the goldfarmers know how to avoid them now. They know how to avoid the filters and keep their disposable accounts around for a few more hours. That's why I posted a suggestion that Cryptic should start limiting in-game mail to new accounts / characters until they unlocked it. But doubt it will ever happen.
I haven't gotten much spam mail this year maybe a few but when it happens I simply report it an move on. Kinda funny my ignore list is getting to be as long as a novel lol

I get a Gold Seller E-Mail, it instantly gets reported as Spam.

Dismissed.
That's Starfleet for GTFO. :P
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I only get gold-spam after lingering and yammering away in chat whilst in Earth-Spacedock. Got my first in a good while today... I'm so proud of the pathetic money-grubbers... <Sniff..>

I remember seeing your suggestion and it seemed reasonable to me
It's interesting you mention WW. None of my characters have ventured into it, so that might be why I haven't been seen/targeted. I'm very curious as to how these spammers are seeking out their targets.

No idea. Given all my characters well Reputation sets, you think I would be at the bottom of their list since I would obviously be the least likely to buy EC.
Really, EC is so stupid easy to get these days, I'm surprised there is even goldfarmers anymore. Everyone I know are multi-millionares, and a few are actually billionares with maxed out EC.

Then you have the losers spamming chat, trying to sell keys for $16.95
They may be annoying, but they are also fun when you publicly embarrass them showing they are ripping people off when you tell everyone that you can get keys in the Exchange for far less.
But Goldfarmer mail is just as bad, when they are also listing Lobi ships, where one was actually listed for $150. So they obviously took advantage of the free Lobi giveaway, which likely means Cryptic isn't going to have another free Lobi giveaway ever again or the ship boxes likely will become bound.
not hit in the mail side of things and not had any directed spam in my location so far this year.. but then again knowing i wrote that, i may end up regretting it as my luck goes.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Any spam I get meets the fate of a quick delete mail, problem solved

From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Just click report on the e-mail itself and they are added to your ignore list and eventually you will get them all.
the filter is possibly set per character? so you may need to adjust for everyone you have. if not i guess that's a bug and needs fixing.
You know, LOL, I'm always afraid to do that. Like that guy who got banned for daring to say he shaved several milimeters off something: thinking the system might just dumbly (can use use 'dumbly' as an adverb?) ban me for having sent/forwarded mail with spam in it.
I tend to put the poster on ignore and go about my business. I hadn't seen them for a long time but recently there's been a few messages in zone chat with intentionally broken URL links, you can tell how dodgy it is from that alone!

I've been a user since Sept. 2012. No spam messages in PM ... yet. But I do see the usual "Looking for" messages in the chat window.
