Big excitement when fleet star bases came out " we hope to have fleet star base's involved in PvP" said the devs.... thanks again for BS-ing the PvP community. My question now is will the dev's speak of the forbidden letters 'PvP" in 2014?
If your not going to touch PvP this year just tell us instead of keeping PvP'ers wondering.

Where is the money for PVP?
BTW, cryptic doesn't often say what they won't do.
There hasn't been Any updates to PvP specifically since the game launched.
I feel that even though the PvPers may be a smaller percentage of the STO population they spend more on average on this game. Also the PVE community will always be larger since every single PvPer has to grind and PvE to excel in PvP.
Ahem... The Season 2 (or was it 3) skill/ability/dps reschedule was ONLY to accomadate the PvP'ers...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
I don't see anything in there that would accomodate ONLY the PvPers. Level amount increase, Mk XI items, new PvE content. . .nothing about a skill/ability/DPS reschedule, unless that was part of the new levels. Sounds like something that benefited both PvP and PvE. . .but I wasn't around for Season 2, so I dunno for sure.
And even if it were only for PvP. . .Season 2 was 3.5 years ago, Season 3 was three years ago. That's quite a long time for any broad improvements, wouldn't you say?
i remember them mentioning something along the lines of a pvp starbase and fleet vs fleet holdings in some combat thing when i was with a fleet, but that was an ice age ago in computer game terms.
like most plans, swept under the rug beaten down and forgotten.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I assume the same thing that happened to turning the 2800 jail into a PVP map or the idea that they design future ground maps with PVP 'hooks' in place to be able to adapt & put them in game faster as PVP locales .
Good intentions ... road ... hell .
Or some such ... , if good intentions still exist at all at this point .

with every new thing that gets introduced, theres generally a line about possible pvp involvement with it. they always move on to the next thing though before that ever pans out
There is every possibility that Star Citizen will kick STO in the ovaries when it releases its PvP module. If it's fun, I won't be playing here anymore.

I don't think you quite understand the status quo, OP...
Current Cryptic PvP Practice:
Pros:
PvPers are among the first to recognise a broken or overpowered aspect of the game and give better Q&A then Cryptic themselves.
PvPers exist on endgame content, and have done since the start. We also use very little to no server space compared to other endgame occupations.
We're free money to them. Cryptic has but more Dev time and more Blog time into a 5 minute mission it releases to the public for 48 hours a YEAR then it ever has with PvP.
When the moon glows blue and they actually take the decision to nerf something, PvPers are offered up as the scape goat to explain their reasoning.
Cons:

Nope, can't think of any, we're everything a greedy MMO maker could ever hope for, why would they burst that bubble by telling us not to wait any longer? Why stop the golden geese laying if only the protect they're feelings?

I don't recall them saying a specific date when it would come out. So they haven't abandoned any promise that was given, yet.

I have learned to not actually listen to the devs any more until I see a solid ITS HERE post I dont believe a word they say.
As for Stahl he has sort of turned into a self fashioned Q/Wizard of OZ. hes behind the curtain hiding now but still omnipotent and god like (regarding the game dev) thing is he cant find a team with original ideas nor seems to encourage any thinking that differs from his !
The most radical Idea they came up with so far is Dino's with frikin lazors on their heads and thats hardly original thinking is it !

Proof of evidence, not speculation.

Why are you not rejoicing?
Cause PvE is like stomping puppies, fun at first but holds no challenge.:D

Never even makes it to Tribble.
They've abandoned every pvp promise they've made the day they made it... why would it change now?

Anyone else think that?
*tumbleweed*
Anyone?
*crickets*
Seriously not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt?

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.
Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

To him it means SMORPG (Single Player Offline Role Playing Game)
Well, i guess being teamed up with others and stomp senseless pets and mobs gives you a feeling of multiplayer.
Hahah.
All that did was made elite STF easier.
