Dyson Engines not changing the engine trails.

I ASSUME this is a bug since the background picture of the project that grants you the Dyson Combat Engines shows the Obelisk engine trails.

When you complete the project and acquire the engines, no matter what, different ship, different set, visuals disabled on the current shield or deflector, etc... the Dyson engines don't change the ion trails like other engines do (Breen, Jem'Hadar, Borg, MACO, OMEGA, etc...).

If it's not a bug, it's clearly a missed opportunity or an annoying misleading.

It's red but comes out more towards the middle sides of the main engine. Creates 2 red trails along with my 2 blue trails coming out of my nacelles. Looks kinda cool having 2 colors.

This on a fleet assault cruiser refit btw. So works fine on this ship.

Might only change the impulse engine color, and not the main nacelle color like a few do! Only speculating though.

Tried on a Stalker Stealth Fighter: No difference for the main nacelles or other engine trails with or without the engines.
Tried on a Risian Corvette: No difference.
Tried on a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship: No difference.
Tried on a Mobius Temporal Destroyer: No difference.
Tried on a Patrol Escort: No difference.
Tried on a Tholian Widow Fighter: No difference.
Tried on a Research Science Vessel: No difference.
Tried on an Exploration Cruiser: No difference.
Tried on an Obelix Carrier: No difference.

You're sure your red trails aren't here by default, dragonsbite?

The Dyson set is only applies the following effect to any ship.

Shield applies a swirl purplish blue glow pattern like the obelisk hull but give the hull a white slate color to mimic the effect. it stronger when no light sources is on it typically more visible in shadow.

And the Final part is the deflector.
Its effect is a glow or lens flair hybrid of maco/honor guard effect meshed with the Borg deflectors orb glow. It kinda trippy in my personal opinion i think someone had jj envy on that part.

The set is available with its complete graphic look on tribble if you wish to test it before getting it. Try near the GPL station on drozana station.

I've also noticed this, strange how you can enable/disable the visual on the engine but it's exactly the same either way, strange :-/

You are correct. I made the mistake of switching from an engine that was changing my all blue trail colors to the dyson engine. That put me back to the multi default blue and red trail colors. So no the dyson engine isn't doing squat.

No change to visuals on my Vesta Class. A bit disappointing if that was the intention. However, I think it's a bug. As far as I can say, the red impulse and blue warp nacelle trails are default for Federation Ships. Having those appear on a non-federation ship that usually has different colors is the bug itself.
But, wait and see what happens with subsequent patches.

I'm hoping this is a bug as well and that the engines are supposed to change the nacelle color as well.
Either way it would be nice to know if its working as intended or really is bugged/unfinished.

Bump, because this is a serious issue. They are the newest reputation engines in the game, and XII to boot, one would assume that they would have a visual effect, maybe something akin to the black/purple of the Obelisk carriers.

My question is if this is a bug, or intended. If it's the latter, I'd be sorely disappointed.

Well either the engine trails etc are missing or the disable visuals button is bugged and shouldn't be there.
Hopefully this will get fixed by 8.5 in one way or the other.
