ussually I have more liquidity then I need. And there are several people who would like to borrow money from me. The Problem is, I cant trust every one AND I've got the problemn that I dont see the people because some times I am only online 2h the week.
So it would be very nice if we could get an money lending tool, which automaticly collects the money on the day the loan is called in.
I am thinking of some thing strucktured like this:
Amonut lendt to the debtor: xxxx EC
Intrest rate (per month): x,x%
installment plan: x EC on the dd.mm.yyyy ; x EC on the dd.mm.yyyy ; .......
I mean I do not have to explain how a loan works.
Would be just nice if you could get us some tool like this, that would save me a lot of time.
Or it could be implemented in the fleetsystem, that would be great as well.
I wonder why you oppose it, would that really harm you?
A lot of players ask me if I could borrow them EC and I cant keep track of them. Thats why I cant borrow them the money.
This idea would cause more trouble than its worth. If you wish to loan money to people that's fine. But an in-game system for this is likely to cause a lot of upset to people. STO is about being part of a community not about being part of something that brings problems. I hardly ever loan money to people. Usually I would just give it to them (fleet members only) rather than loan it. This prevents the situation where people are under a burden because they owe someone something and prevents all the uncomfortable problems which come from that.
Ok, so just don't use the tool.
Whats your problem with me and several other people getting such a tool?
And about the risk management, I would say every body can decide for himself if he wants to loan money to some one else or not.
calling in loans from Bankrupt toons is easy, you just take the incoming EC from the other toons of that Account until the debt is paid, with interest!
Ok, so just don't use the tool.

Ok let me spell it out so even you can understand.
troll account: Hey lend me 50 million ec for X?
anahadar: Sure thing bud *transfers money*
Troll account: *transfers to bpharma*
Troll account to anahadar: ha ha ha ha ha ha, you'll never get it back trolololololololol.
anahadar to Troll account: This player no longer exists.
anahadar: Damn
This probably won't happen to you necessarily but it will happen to lots of other people. This is a very bad idea.
If ur in the same fleet people could message the fleet leader and say theree not seen u on and owe u money n put it there for u thats if u trust the fleet leadership ive meet 1 or 2 that a robbing twats.
I see your point.
But I think everyone has to manage his risk on his own. There are several ways to manage the risk.
And I must surely say I am upset because, I can't loan money to other people as I want, because such a tool is missing.
But I got your point and you are right in some ways. But loosing loan to a debtor, is the risk of free enterprise.
Hmm starting to think this guy works for a bank or worse he is the tax man
I would be damned to work as a simple bureaucrat.
But you got me, I am banker
And yes bpharma, you got a point with the argument, that a new tool adds new problems. But I think its worth it.
Think of it, the loan tool would be some thing like the creation the Ferengie faction!
No. I loan out EC to players in my Fleet. And i simply write down there name and how much they borrowed, or like a good chap i just hand it over and say have a gift fro mme to you. Usuall its only about 500,000 EC. No big deal im always willing to help out peope, as many have helped me in the past.
But really you need a tool for this?
How about instead of adding something that will cause nothing but problems, find your local pawn shop pick up a second monitor on the real cheap, put Excel up on that monitor and do your own little tabulations and such.
I run two monitors while i play and it bothers my system not at all, or if you are so worried about people not paying you back, dont loan out EC......
Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!
I am Il Shadow and i approve these Shennanigans!

Well, to be honest, I think a loan system would add a new dimension to the game. The ferengie dimension.
Problem is that I cant loan money to strangers, I thought of a system to back loans with asstes, but I dont think that people who wanna have a loan have enough transferable asstes to back their borrowings. Thats the whole problem.
Don't get me wrong, I think the game also misses a proper crafting system. But don't you forget, manufacturing and consum needs funding. I am willing to provide funding if I could get a tool to enforce the installment.
I thought at first you were just a troll. Having some harmless fun by stirring things a bit.
Now, I'm beginning to think you're either a Dev or a Mod signed in under an alternate name. Here's why I think so.
- Limited number of posts.
- Both threads started by you have been primarily concerned with relieving players of their revenue. Not something a player is normally concerned with. Indeed, it is quite the opposite.
- Your responses to replies seem determined to egg people on to hyperbole and excess.
- Your spelling errors are uneven. Sometimes you misspell a word and in the next post you spell the same word correctly.
- The syntax of English can be difficult at times for a non-native speaker. Someone who claims to be a banker should have a college degree. So the syntax, tense, and grammar errors are not logical coming from someone who has this level of education.
Obvious troll is obvious, yes, but in this case I think obvious troll is merely a maskirovka for something else.
I wonder what that might be?

I am not native speaker. And I live in Germany. May be this explains my bad englsh, sorry for that. Did you ever talk to a french guy? Do it and you'll see that not everybody who has a Bachelors degree or a higher education can speak proper english.
Btw., I've got a Bachelors degree
But this is not about my education, neigther it is about my profession.
Ah. Sehr gut. Danke schon. Ich spreche Hochedeutsche. Je parle Francais tre peu. I'm not really a Redneck, I just pretend to keep people off guard and allow them to underestimate me until it is far too late.
Your statement not every educated person speaks English is correct. However, having lived in Europe for about seven years when I was younger I can state with some accuracy most university educated Europeans have a basic understanding of English. Especially those who haunt the Internet or enjoy Star Trek.
I have no good way of confirming your location or nationality. So I think I'll stay with my assumption that you're a Dev or a Mod flying false colors and up to no good for some unknown reason.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
You can think what ever you want.
That obviously won't change anything.
And btw., its spelled: Hochdeutsch, not Hochedeutsch.
You know, putting up allegations, on a person you do not know is not very academic. A person with a Bachelor's or even higher degree, should know that.
So just contribute to the topic, or stop reading the thread.
Thank you for correcting my spelling. I appreciate it. Always bad to look foolish with spelling errors in a foreign language.
As to contributing to the thread...
This is your second thread about player ingame revenue. Once again, you want the Devs to do something for you which any reasonably sensible person with a pen and paper can do for themselves. You want them to add something to the game.
Who benefits from this? Why would anyone other than someone who profits directly from the game want something added to it?
BTW, if you'd like to me to stop reading the thread, all you need do is ask the Mods to remove it and avoid posting such things in the future. An elegantly simple solution. Or, since you are possibly a Mod or Dev yourself, remove it yourself. But this would blow your cover wouldn't it?
You've kicked this can of worms over in public. Therefore you cannot pick and choose who does and does not answer or reply. I rather enjoy the fact your beginning to focus on my replies. It means two things are going on which I was trying for.
1) You're not playing STO right at this moment.
2) You're not bothering decent folks with foolishness.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
Since you are not willing to contribute to the topic I'll add an another idea, to the original one.
What if the loan aggrements, would be tradable items? So you could sell them on the exchange.
It would be even better if you could put the loan aggreements together and split them again.
This way you could invest your money in low risk products and people in need of money could easly raise funds.
This is Star Trek Online not bankers online. You're a banker, you get a kick out of making money for effectively loaning it and creaming the profits. I get it but this is not a banking game and considering the general disdain for bankers at the moment it's plain old not good.
You want that from a game, go play a game like that. The vast majority of people here do not and never would want some kind of loansharking going on.
When everyone is against the idea and there's many many problems it's time to say "alright fair enough, please close this thread" and then never comment on the thread ever again.
Well I just think, a proper monetary system is the very core of a economy and since the crafting system gets revamped, we could get a loan system as well.

^^ This. So this!
Yes, just go play EVE Online: it will fulfill are your banking/trading needs, and you can scam legally too (can't do THAT in real-life. Oh wait, no, the banking world actually did just that: swindled the entire world, and got a billions-dollars deal bail-out to boot). Anyway, bpharma is fully right; and I have yet to find someone who isn't (TB-) repulsed by the idea of putting up with loansharks and the like in STO as well.
I really don't see a point in what you are suggesting. Sure it would make it a bit easier for you to keep track of your loans given out, but you could easily do that yourself by just taking notes.
If there is no enforcement to pay the loan back this system is pretty much pointless. And if there were, then the general tone of the game would change dramatically. People not being able to pay back their loanes would probably go into ingame foreclosure or some such B.S.
Do you really believe, just because you want a tool to more easily manage your loans, that this would justify a dramatic change in the gameplay enviroment?
If you want to really be productive, find a way to limit the current inflation rate of EC. that's basically the far bigger problem, especially with the current 500 million EC limit on the exchange. I am foreseeing a black market to spring up if EC as a currency is further devalued.
Why are you so intent on introducing taxes and loans? a system that has been proven to fail?
first of all that seems rather underhanded they ask you for money you loan them money that toon can not repay then you steal money from toons that have nothing to do with the loan....
something like that would not be placed on the player but more the toon borrowing the money
cuase if it was placed on the player then you would see a massive drop in player base and or level which ever you wish to cal it the point being that the amount of people would a very high amount in a very short amount of time wich is in no way good for the game also the number of players that join the game new to it wouldn't even bother downloading it this game has began how long ago it seems that if this is a problem then just make rules againts loan and borrowing anything

First the tax thing.
Now, I'm beginning to think you're either a Dev or a Mod signed in under an alternate name.
Why would a Dev or Moderator do that? I'm guessing it's some ordinary player just wanting to play around with people but not have their reputation hurt.
Comments
No.
A lot of players ask me if I could borrow them EC and I cant keep track of them. Thats why I cant borrow them the money.
Second of all what would happen if someone "borrowed" 250 million for a JHAS then couldn't pay it back or heaven forbid just had and kept no ec?
Too many ways to cheat the system to get items. it would be a huge hassle and headache.
May I suggest a notepad and pencil though if you have trouble tracking who you loan ec to.

I just solved your problem without adding an update that would break the game and cause hundreds if not thousands of rage posts and tickets.
I should get a raise!
