Suggestion: Allow lockbox ships to be swapped between alts when opened.

This would not make lockbox ships an account wide unlock. Still only 1 ship per account. But you can move it around if desired.

Example + steps to swap:

1) You put your Voth Palisade Science Vessel on your Science Captain (go figure right?)
2) Oh look a new Voth ship, now I could better use all 3 Voth consoles on my Engineer Captain instead.
3) I now remove all but the original items from the Voth Palisade and switch my Science Captain to a different ship, effectively putting the Palisade into 'unused' status.
4) Some mechanism for any of my other captains to now take the unused Voth ship and use it as their own.

Still only 1 lockbox ship per box, but now I'm way more likely to try and obtain lockbox ships knowing that I can move it to another captain if I decide in the future it would be better off there. Case in point: the new 3 Piece Voth set is introduced after I've already opened 2 Voth ships on my Science captain.

Please Cryptic. Lock box ships, and now duty officer pack ships, are expensive enough. Give us a little flexibility here like you did with Lobi (and thank you for that!) and I for one would try to obtain more of them. I have certainly bought more keys now that I don't have to AGONIZE over which character needs the Lobi most at any given moment.

Thanks in advance for listening.

Interesting. Well then there's definitely a demand for it. I wasn't going as far as account wide unlock, though it might be easier to implement. I can't honestly say I'd want to fly the same ship on 2 different captains, except maybe temporal sci.

As long as we limited the ships in use to the number you've actually obtained, then I think we have a shot at Cryptic greenlighting this.

I fully agree with this, i got myself the palisade science vessel and the flightdeck carrier.
Flightdeck is not a science ship at all , and would love it to switch it

let us "Re-box" the lockbox ship.. (after removing all components and bla bla bla)

Said "Re Boxed <Whatever>" then becomes account bound and lalala we give it to said character that would benefit from it the most.

Every player with lock box ships is going to agree with this, myself included.

Cryptic/PWE will never agree though, it would potentially lose them income. If you can swap your ships amongst your characters on an account you're only going to ever try to obtain one copy of each ship which would mean less keys sold or EC spent. Lots of people get EC faster by buying keys, fleet modules, doff packs etc and selling them for EC.....

So yeah I'd support this, but it'll never happen.

They could charge a small amount of Zen to do it each time.

It would be like buying a Fleet module.....

I'd be happy with that too, a C-Store item that temporarily makes an item account bound rather than character bound, until you equp it/unpack it again at which point it binds to character again.

I know people are just asking for it this time just so they can have battle cloak on their main! :P

But I wouldn't mind this...I wouldn't mind re-boxing my JHDN and Recluse and giving them to other characters...even if it cost me some zen.

Nope, I mainly would like to transfer a JHDC from one of my Romulan tacs to my Klingon tac. My rommie flies a Scimitar, but I didn't realise this would be the case when I opened a JHDC on him. ;)

What I'd like to see a re-box item added to the zen shop for something like 1000 zen.

The item would allow the user to repackage any owned Lock Box or Lobi store ship and once again trade it freely via the exchange, ship it with the mail or trade directly with other players.

I would love the option to re-box my Voth Science vessel since I opted to go with a B'rel stealth bomber with my KDF Science ALT.

If they make this available, they go number crunching and make lockbox chance even smaller. It's small as it is guys. Don't make it worse. Think of your future lockbox openings!

Why should they? Everyone keeps eating them up. Look at the increasing frequency of releases.

Because... it's christmas? And making Lobi account bound seems to have led to many more people opening lockboxes.

No one here is advocating you be able to re-box and re-sell you ship. That's absurd. It's still account bound, we just need some mechanism to move it between alts.

Yes that would be nice but if you repacked it without the console, it would not reopen on you other character with the console. This would be fine if they charged a 500 zen for a repack token, then make it where you alr could the. Get another console for e repack ship only if you have unlocked the on the account for an extra 500 to 800 lobi. This would then allow them to still make money, while you still can get the console on other characters on you account for lobi and trade an unused ship on one character on your account to another character that would benefit from it. Perhaps the console purchase for the new character would only work if they had the ship in posession. Also this would prevent slot of players for duplicating the bound to character console cause they would have to repack the ship again thus spending more zen to give to other characters besides the two that already had the ship. Either way, it would provide more renewable income for PW, and allow you to not worry so much about constantly obtaining copies of the ship you rather have on an alt. it also means since you would also need more lobi for a bound of pickup console, they sell more keys too.

I would be happy if they just allowed us to move the ship consoles through the account bank , I have an orion tac who has a krenn temporal destroyer with the manheim console , im never going to get her a temporal science ship just for the tippler console , she will never fly a science ship, meanwhile my federation sci captain has the wells , and I don't want a temp destroyer for that captain , so each of them has one of the consoles and I cant give one to the other . its annoying .

500 zen to re-box a ship and make it account bound seems completely fair and reasonable to me. As it has pretty much since the discussion came up last year.

Nobody ever thought they would make lobi account bound even though we kept begging for it, so maybe there's some small hope for this.

I could definitely pay a small fee like that to rebox the ship and make it account bound.

I'm also willing to pay a fee to have re-race tokens as well, they kind of messed up a lot of my older alts when they added traits. I wouldn't mind switching their races (within their faction.) It surprises me we don't have these already, the big MMO which I won't name sells re-faction, re-race, re-profession services for about the equiv of 1500 to 2500 Zen a pop.

Please Cryptic, let us give you our money for things we want! :D

Captains are reassigned all the time in Star Trek, it makes sense for us to be able to "Transfer Command" of certain ships for a cost. I'd say to transfer command, you'd have to pay 2500 zen, it would remove the ship and all items on it from your roster and send it via mail, bind on pickup, to another character on your account.

Allow it for all ships, even, if there's a fleet ship or something that you're no longer using but might on an alt, it could be useful.

It's a great idea. Not paying more than 500 though. I've spent enough on this game already and 1000 or more to move my ship on my account is too annoying.

I don't think they would ever allow that! I am still highly dubious on them allowing even an account unlock for a fee. Maybe they might do it on less popular or older ones ...

But really why should they? It will certainly lead to lower sales and the fees generated will be small. How many people even have them to begin with? I don't think demand for lock boxes will increase dramatically ... since they are quite expensive (in terms of dollars or time).
